In terms of experiencing Britain in Calgary, this is as close as it gets.
Everything British: from Chocolate Hobnobs to English Toffee, this place is guaranteed to cater to your innermost 'English' desires. Does that even make sense???
I love love love ethnic food stores and a store filled with imported goods and shelves of candy wins me over like nothing else.
Grab some biscuits, grab some toffee and get a Good Taste of Britian. -

I love this shop!! So many wonderful things it really does give you a good taste of Britain.
My Dad is from Scotland and when I brought him to this shop he nearly lost his mind! So many things he had to buy!
Personal favourite is a beverage: Barr's Irn Bru. I can't describe the taste but it's bright orange and comes in diet now too.
However I wish they were a little more consistent in their stock. Sometimes I come in and they don't have what I'm looking for it's like I'll never know what they will be stocking and what they won't. I haven't seen Monster Munch there for over a year now which makes me sad.
Oh well always something new to discover + try! And it's almost always tasty! -

Alo alo, top o dah mor-nin to yew!
Does that translate into a somewhat British accent? Because after visiting Good Taste of Britain my mind went into British accent autopilot.
This is a fanciful store celebrating the patriotism of Britain. Chock full of British goodies and treats, import candy and chocolate, beverages and teas. Tons of memorabilia cover the walls from Beatlemania to license plates and football scarves. The store at Eau Claire is large and unlike the other cultural stores at the market, its decor is tastefully done.
Of course a store celebrating Britain shouldn't be without a great selection of music or films. Let me digress here and say that one of my favourite film stylings is British comedy. I have been known to laugh for hours and occasionally snort and wet myself.
GTOB succeeds in snogging itself so have a spot of tea with them mates!
