The Good Life Community Bike Shop in the Eau Claire Market is one of the most commendable projects here in Calgary. Started by a group who wanted to see more bike education in the city, this group opened doors in Eau Claire. Very central for its clients, a person can come and buy a bike and take advantage of the long peaceful bike trails that wind along side the Elbow River.
Bike shop also takes used donated bikes and refurbishes them to top notch quality, so you are assured a well working bike but are also doing something huge for your environment in purchasing a used bike. These range from $60 to $100.
Another perk is, if you are a member you can come in with your already bought bicycle and have one of the bike specialist teach you how to repair your bike problems and run you through basic bike maintenance with you. This membership allows you free reign of bike tools at shop as well as weekly information on bike happenings in the city. Best of all this membership is free.
Amazing caring project would love to see this in all cities in Canada and would be great if it were implemented in Latin America and other third world countries, its affordable, and Eco-smart. -

A community space where you can learn how to fix or build your own bike run by a collective of savvy activists. If you are keen on making cycling a part of your life but are short on cash this is a great place to frequent. A totally not-intimidating environment to hang out in or check out a workshop.
