Love the old movie posters and jazz music! The baristas were great and really friendly, asked all the right questions to make sure the iced tea I ordered would be exactly what I wanted.
    I ordered:

    - Iced Chocolate Mint Rooibos
    - Salmon and Cream Cheese Bagel
    - Iced Rose Oolong Tea (to go!)

They were all delicious. I definitely see what a reviewer meant by the bagel -- tasty AND made with a panini press. The chocolate mint rooibos had great flavour and wasn't too sweet or overpowering. The rose was definitely my favourite, light and a little sweet but absolutely perfect.

The bagel and the tea cost something like 8$ all together and there was a lot of room to sit down and relax. The shop was clean, comfortable and looked absolutely great. I loved the big windows and the giant golden espresso machine!

Definitely a gem on Younge, way better than waiting for ages at the Starbucks up the street and less expensive.

Lastly they did have chocolate, including many many truffles with flavours like honey, green tea, caramel, rum, etc. They also offer juice (carrot, mixes, etc) and some more food items.

If only I lived in Toronto, I would stop by every day!

This place is a hidden gem.

So unassiming, you walk in and are transformed by the warmth and experience.
Their old equipment is worth just the view, and their coffee's and teas are exceptional.

A must visit. A welcome addition to the area. Unexpected for a yonge street location.

I now know why there are no photos of the interior of Golden Mint Coffee & Tea Company. All the photos I saw are taken from a distance... a far far distance....

Yes I got in trouble when I tried to take my first photo inside, and the barista told me No Photographs allowed!

I really want to take a photo of that Elektra Belle Epoque Espresso Machine .... it is so pretty and the barista did a great job making my Cappuccino. The milk forth is really heavy though...just like whip cream.

Golden Mint also carries chocolate, sweets, coffee beans and loose leave tea........

The window seats overlooking Yonge Street are great for people watching.

Golden Mint is a great choice if you are tired of hanging out at Starbucks or Second Cup up the street. However, there is no WIFI so people are all just meeting up, chatting to each other or like me chilling out over a cup of coffee!

My favourite coffee shop in the city!

If you like the strong and good stuff - check them out. And this is not just for coffee lovers - tea lovers get even MORE love as they feature, literally, an entire wall of teas.

Yes, there are MANY great java stops in Toronto. So why Golden Mint (GM)? Here's why...

ATMOSPHERE: Cosy, warm and inviting. Located on a busy strip of Yonge Street, it's a nice place to stop and rest your legs. There are large windows to for people-watching the busiest street in Toronto. :) It's a great alternative to the usual big chains.

SERVICE: Friendly staff always there to brighten your day. They work fast - especially efficient during morning rush hour.

PRICE: Very affordable! If you're a regular coffee drinker - there's no reason NOT to switch from those big franchises to GM!

FOOD: The serve coffees and teas (organic and fairtrade available in over a hundred different flavours! All are amazing hot or cold.), bagels (i LOVE their breakfast bagels because they use a panini press on them!), sandwiches, freshly squeezed juices, and smoothies.

But one of the best things? They serve a small variety (but fantastic) of SWEETS. They make dark organic chocolate! So with that they have candied fruit of all sorts, truffles, marshmallows, ginger and other lovely treats. Their window display is always tempting. I do love their affogato (ice cream served with espresso on top) - even though it's not served in a beautiful way like restaurants would - they give you a VERY generous helping of ice cream. And isn't that the point, after all? ;)

As I walked up Yonge I had in my mind that I would stop at the Starbuck's at Yonge and College for a tea and some forced reading of academic articles - but I always dread trying to find a chair/table in Starbuck's or pretty much any other coffee/tea place.

Then I looked up and saw a pleasant perch in the window of what turned otu to be Golden Mint. I ventured inside and after pondering my choice, I order a mug of Peach Roibos - yummy :) The only challenge here was convincing myself not to order one of the delicious-looking desserts - maybe next time:)

With tax, the tea was $2.12 and there was no searching for a chair since the place wasn't packed. I will definitely be returning. I like the opportunity for a little variety (unlike most other coffee places that serve tea) and the service was friendly.

I have lived in the yonge and carlton area for a few months now, but I never really noticed Golden Mint until today. I usually stop at tim hortons on my way to class, but I think I will be switching to Golden Mint! It is cozy inside, with a nice seating area. And the truffles. Omigoodness they look delish. They have an entire wall of different varieties of loose leaf tea-- their website boasts over 200 kinds.

On today's visit I picked up a tea ball and a carrot juice ( you really can't go wrong with carrot juice, its just carrots. although they did have the option of adding more veggies to the juice, if you are so inclined).

The women that worked there were very friendly and helpful. I will be going back soon to try the mint chocolate rooibos tea!

Our hotel was right next to this place.  Thank god because I loved it!  It was our last day in Toronto and just wanted something quick.  I had the berrylicious iced tea & a sesame bagel w\ salmon, cream cheese & veggies.  It was perfect, the tea, absolutely the best!  My boyfriend ordered some kind of mint iced tea, which was equally as good.  They also had a really nice selection of candies, truffles, chocolate covered coffee beans and what really caught my eye were the candied apples which were decorated with different candies, definitely fun for a kid.  I really thought the prices were good.  If your near by this place, don't waste your time on the billion Star Bucks on this street, go here!
