Review from Quan H.
After almost 15 years living in Vancouver, I haven't tried king crab before, until yesterday. One of mom's friends recommended this place. There is parking on the side, but make sure you don't block the driveway! Those parking lines are deceiving.
We had a small dish of peanuts to munch on while we wait for our meal. Upon ordering the crab, our server seemed very honest, and recommended everything from the size, the way it's cooked, to how many dishes to order afterwards, based on our party size. We had 5 people, and he recommended us to order any additional dishes after eating the crab. FYI, it was a 9.5 lb crab. He also recommended us to have it steamed with minced garlic, to get the most out of the meat and taste.
We ordered a veggie dish, anyway, and we had to pack it home =P. He was right; the crab dish alone was enough. Oh, the crab tasted really good, in case you were wondering. But I don't eat enough crab to know if it tastes "really good" since I avoid it due to the messiness and reluctancy to work for my food (peeling).
Throughout the meal, we saw the gradual declining of king crab from the tank; they were being plucked one by one. I guess a lot of people come here during this season, and like it!
+honest server, always a plus
+plates are changed with clean ones before they get filled, even though it's a full night - efficient servers
+dessert at the end
= thoroughly enjoyable evening of dining.
P.S. According to the server, Tuesday (tomorrow) is going to be a good day for crab. -

You know it's gonna be a good time when Alaska king crab season starts.
Parking is available on the side streets. There are also 10 or so spots in the lot out front.
The front door of this place doesn't close properly, so try not to stand near it if you're afraid of freezing.
The dining area is actually pretty narrow, but having a bunch of mirrors along the back wall makes the place look somewhat bigger.
While waiting, we saw 2 staff walking out with a giant tub of crabs, going outside. We asked them where they were going, and they told us they were giving the smaller ones to another restaurant. Lolz.
The staff were very quick, and quickly picked up a poor unsuspecting crab for us. We had it steamed with garlic bits. Delicious. The crab here is only $12/lb, which is one of the better deals in town. The staff were also very regular with the changing of our plates. The shells never piled up.
We also had a pot of baby greens, and an eggplant hot pot. Both dishes were quite neutral in taste, and done quite well.
For dessert, there was layered bean cake, and bean pudding. Again, not too sweet. Always a good sign.
Overall I was very happy with this place, and the service. Recommended. -

I can only comment on their dim sum - but it was pretty good with friendly service. Like Marc says it's a pretty unassuming place and you probably drive right by as it's in a business complex and doesn't scream Chinese restaurant!
We had a reservation for our group, just before the busy lunch hour but just had to wait a bit for our table. The manager was very kind and accommodating as he quickly arranged to have a baby seat at our table.
The food was pretty good and I'd come back again!
They have the shrimp and Chinese donut wrapped in rice roll! Yumm!
Shrimp dumplings were large, packed and didn't fall apart when lifted
Shrimp and garlic spring rolls were pretty good too packed quite full
Sui Mai were also a fair size, but there were cartiladge bits I had to spit out, but if you like them...they were there in mine
Gai Lan - was actually chopped into smaller more managable pieces (2" sized) - I was impressed
Chow Mein - is really quite tasty! The noodles were crispy with sprouts and veggies on top, then mixed in and the host/waiter even helped to serve all of us at the table. We ordered it for my friend's daughter mostly but we all had some and were pleasantly surprised.
Deep fried tofu dish in broth - nice, and my friend who doesn't generally like tofu said he really enjoyed it and the soup
Egg tarts are my favourite and these ones didn't disappoint. They were small (3 per plate), creamy and flaky
Good, quick, friendly service! Good food! = I'll be back! -

* Good neighbourhood dim sum spot *
This small unassuming restaurant made for a nice dim sum stop.
- The soft shell crab was done with a classic garlic chili salt style. The coating was nice and crisp without being too thick, the garlic and chili provided a nice flavour balance, and the crab itself was very fresh tasting with lots of meat. The crab had nice fat as well to really intensify the flavours. 5 stars. Photos: http://www.yelp.ca/biz... and http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
- The scallop cheong fan had nice large fresh scallops and some greens rolled inside. The greens were a nice touch. The wrapper was the proper consistency, and bonus points for serving the sauce on the side so it wasn't drowning in it and getting soggy. 4 stars. Photo: http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
- The har gow were large and mostly shrimp. The shrimp were quite fresh, with a nice crunch, and the wrapper was nice and thin. One of them was not sealed properly, but overall very good. 4 stars. Photo: http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
- The string beans were fried with meat and olives. They were still slightly crunchy (the way I like them), but I wish they had more of a nice wok hei. 3 stars. Photo: http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
Overall for a casual neighbourhood spot they gave a very solid performance. I'll be back. -
Review from Craig R.
My wife and I stopped here today for lunch. It was a Saturday at 11:30 so the place was packed with every table sat. We happened to arrive right before several large parties, and despite having only one large table come available they sat us right down. This was a huge plus for me as I would have expected one of the larger parties to get the table and us to wait around for 30 minutes.
We ordered several items off of both the dim sum and the regular menu. My favorite item was by far the steamed pork buns. Not exactly a rarity for a dim sum place, but they quite tasty. We also ordered salt and pepper fried squid, not surprisingly they were quite greasy. The sauteed Chinese broccoli was also very good, I would definitely order that again.
Although nothing wowed me beyond the nice service, I'd come back again and try it just because of that :). -

Came here for dinner and had a decent meal. Nothing outstanding but nothing disappointing either. Nothing was overseasoned or salty - always a plus. This is a good place to take a large group as it provides good value. Food was served pretty quickly and service was nice and bathrooms were clean.
I was a bit put off by how loud the Chinese soap operas were playing earlier in the evening. But as the crowds came in it seemed to drown out the TV sounds.
Teeney tiny private parking lot! -

We came here for dim sum with the wife and her girlfriend. The place is a little small, but, on a Monday, there was only a small wait.
The fish congee was worth the price of admission alone. Very nice portions of cod, scallops, and minced green onion were welcomed on that day.
The fried radish cake with XO sauce, and shrimp with snap pea dumplings were very well done.
Reasonable prices and good food for dim sum is what it's all about! -

Take a group to experience baller Canto cuisine without burning a hole in your wallet.
Food: Great premium set menus including a special I had this weekend for 6 people ($149). For the price, the quality is quite good. I was even impressed as the resident foodie in the family!
i.Heart: Shrimp with mayo and candied walnuts.
Atmosphere: Typical Chinese restaurant: bright florescent lights with the signature red velvet wall.
Service: Manager is quite friendly and the food service is quick. -

Quality food, good service, a bit more expensive than average. Just a bit. I can recommend the eggplant hot pot and gai lan beef.

I went there for dinner last nite, most simple/causal dishes are cheap. In avg, fr 12-14 a dish and the size is normal. Their food is good and quick. Good for family or group dinner.

One of our standby places for dim sum. Very popular during dimsum prime times... I love the various seafood dumplings...
