Went here for dinner with my Dad. We had the same things we usually get at Lhy Thai (beef red curry, cashew chicken, chicken satay). I enjoyed most of the food just as much as Lhy Thai's, but I didn't like the chicken satay quite as much.
The food here is a bit expensive, though the service was very good and the food had just the right amount of spice for a Medium.
Will happily come back if Lhy Thai isn't an option for whatever reason. -

Solid Thai food with friendly service and convenient delivery. I'm a big fan of a curry and rice when I don't feel like cooking, and my husband appreciates that they don't mess around when they describe something as spicy.

This is not the Thai food I know. We got it for takeout, and other than the ok red curry, the food tasted like indistinguishable mall Chinese. Bland, blah. The spring rolls were horribly oily-greasy, either they're using the wrong oil or wrong dough. Overall very disappointing.

This place isn't going to set the Thai food scene on fire, but it's a pretty solid place and I will definitely go back again and again.
The appetizer share plate is a good way to sample a little of everything.
The GoThai special fried rice is really tasty and paired up well with the green curry we had.
The Thai Iced Tea was the best surprise of the whole meal. It's some sort of sweet black tea (Rooibos of some sort I think) topped up with milk. I know it sounds strange, but trust me it's dead tasty.
Bonus points for having a quick kitchen. -

Holy shit we've been eating out a LOT lately. Actually, we've been out in general so much lately that I'm beginning to miss our condo and my house plant (yes, there's only one and I've been busy trying to keep it alive). I'm only on my second review today and realized there's an annoying five more "unfinished" reviews yelping for attention. Some day I will make a career out of this.
So we decided to "go Thai" for lunch a couple of days ago and ended up at this place. We just wanted to do a quick takeout and that proved to be a great decision because this place isn't gonna be winning awards for decor any time soon. However, in my humble opinion, it would be the perfect place to do sketchy things, such as trade weapons, organs, playing cards, and whatever else you want to trade. Or bring your significant other here if you're trying to end your relationship (if HB brought me here on a "date", that would be the end of it). For a quick, cheap and easy take out, it's the shiz.
HB has been going through horrible Little Thai Place Pad Thai (Victoria, BC) withdrawals since we've moved to the mainland and we hoped to end it at this place. Alas, the chicken pad thai was good but still didn't quite make the cut with HB's high pad thai standards (this means more ketchupy, less fishy tasting pad thai!) To me, it was pretty authentic but still not as phenomenal as I'd like it to be (and I can do without the raw bean sprouts packed in the takeout container, thank you very much!). I found the spring rolls to be very greasy, perfect indeed for curing a hangover but not my preference. For the price, it's not bad. -

don't let the outside of this business fool you. I think it used to be a Dunkin Donuts or something so from outside it is nothing special. Decor is also just OK but food is excellent! We always have Pad Thai and Satay. The only caution I have is don't ask for "no spice" as a lot of the Pad Thai flavour is wrapped up in the spicing of the dish.
I have mostly had great service but once I had to wait quite a while for my take out as they had a big order in front of me. Wish they would have warned me that it was 20 minutes plus because they are usually faster than that.
Overall though good experiences. -

Being new to the neighbourhood (moved within a month) I didn't expect to find fantastic Thai. But I did and we've been there three times already.
1. Satay is outstanding. Seriously. Drizzled with coconut milk, well-marinated and charred.
2. Best Pad Kee Mao I've had this side of the border. Drool.
3. Panang was good, if a little runny. Super tasty though.
4. Cashew Chicken was as expected.
5. Kra Pow was also very good. Perfectly seasoned.
We like our Thai food hot. Their medium is definitely a Thai medium. I ask for extra chillies to control from there and I've never needed them. -

I am so in love with the food here - plus they deliver. Score!
The weekday lunch specials are a great value - they're all under $10, most can be made with your choice of meat (or tofu) and come with fat little spring rolls, hot and delicious from the deep fryer. My favourite dish (so far) is Lard Na: crispy noodles topped with chicken and veggies in a sweet and spicy sauce.
If you get appetizers, may I suggest a bowl of the Tom Yum Gai (yum yum) or the chicken satays with an out-of-this-world peanut sauce. It's all good. Go Thai, go now.Listed in: Bright Lights, Royal City

The Swimming Rama is incredibly delicious. The spring rolls are also quite well made. Again, everything was yummy and super underpriced. You can't eat the same for as cheap at home.
The only thing overpriced was the deep-fried banana ... which was also very very good ... but then desserts are always uneconomical no matter where you go.
Still a fabulous Thai restaurant. Bad location, boring name, but I'm not eating the location or the name, am I. Highly, highly recommended.Listed in: Top of the Heap - Food

The appearance of the place is a little strange - in an old burger resto building, but whatever, the food is delish!
I was recommended the Thai Fried Rice (it was a self-recommendation, since I saw some other dude eating it and I thought it looked pretty wicked), and it was VERY tasty! The portion - for me was a little light, though. I understand if it was a portion as part of a combo, but this was a stand alone dish.
So being hungry still, I ordered a bowl of Tom Yum soup. VERY delish as well. All in all, it's a part of the GVRD I don't really get to, but I won't hesitate to stop in again. It was a tasty lunch. -

I came back here for a quick lunch and I still love it for their value and friendly service. I try and stop in every couple months if I can swing a trip past here.
I had the green curry with tofu. Delish. And spicy, the way I like it, even if it does make my nose run. Oh, and of course, Thai iced tea, which I am now addicted to.Listed in: Vegetarian Friendly Options, Cheap, Reliable Eats in the…, Time for Thai

The curry and soup we ordered are pretty good. However their spring roll is over fried so it becomes a bit hard on skin and greasy inside. Also their fried rice is a bit plain as one of the other reviewer said. A place for casual eating. No fancy decoration in the restaurant but the server is quite friendly.
One thing though, I wish their ventilation is a bit better. With their open kitchen, the seats near the wok will smell all kind of smells when they cook. Kind of bothering while eating. -

Went back again today -- had their green curry lunch special and a tom ka gai. They had a fascinating dressing on top of their salad / slaw -- no idea (seriously) what they made it with, but it was citrusy and garlicy. Delicious!

Review from Al R.
New Westminster, BC
Go Thai is a good place (a great place) to go for a CASUAL dining experience. The dining area itself is somewhat spartan (ie: not intimate for a romantic date with your significant other), but the staff are very personable, and the food is wonderful in a 'Thai home cooking' sort of way. Go Thai doesn't have the fancy decor and fancy entreés of many Thai restaurants, and that is reflected in the reasonable prices. In fact, I suspect that because the dishes are not quite as upscale, that the food probably IS somewhat closer to a Thai version of home cooking than other Thai restaurants. But that's only a gut feeling (no pun intended).
I'm writing this review from the perspective of someone who is not a big fan of Thai food. Nevertheless, I do find that on the infrequent occasion when I do find myself at Go Thai (maybe 3 - 4 times per year), I always enjoy the food. I do wish that the portions were a bit larger though. As another reviewer has commented, the serving sizes on some of the dishes are more on par with a side dish than with an entreé. But even so, I don't go away without feeling like I got decent value for my hard earned money.
I can confidently recommend this restaurant to you for great CASUAL dining. Great staff and decent food!
By the way, as some other reviewers noted that the restaurant looks/feels a bit like an old donut shop - lol, it actually was one once.
About five years ago (2010 as I type this), there was CP Family Restaurant (so-called 'Chinese - Canadian cuisine' - it was neither, IMHO), and before that, there was Nuffy's Donuts!
I've heard that a gas station was located on the site before the donut shop.
4 stars for the food and service
3 stars for the atmosphere/decor, etc
I got so hungry typing this review that I'm taking my wife there right now. -

Discovered this place when I had to spend a couple days out in New West. I'd walked past it a couple of times and was hesitant to try it. From the outside, it doesn't look very appealing - it looks almost like a converted donut shop or corner store. Eventually, my thai cravings took over and I took a chance.
Upon entering, the place does not look much better inside than it does from the outside. The lighting is pretty bright and the set-up looks almost cafeteria like. The staff, however, were friendly.
Since my first visit, I've been back about 4 times and have enjoyed the food each and every time. The pad thai is good, not the best I'd ever had, but a solid 7/10. The spring rolls, as always, are great. The yellow curry was good as was a garlic vegetable dish we just recently tried.
There are better thai restaurants around, but this place has become one of my go-to spots when I get those cravings.
The prices are very reasonable, the food fresh and the staff are great. They just need to do something about the atmosphere. -

After a long night of drinking (it doesn't happen often, so it was long like you wouldn't believe), Marcus suggested we go and drown our sorrows in a mess of Pad Thai. I groaned and followed, much like I'd done all night before that.
We decided on Go Thai in New Westminster. It looks like an old donut shop or fast food restaurant when you approach it. It almost looks like it's too big for what little menu they have, but when you go inside, you realize why they need all the space. The place was full and people were eating some of the best looking Thai food I've ever seen!
I ordered pad thai, pad see ew (which is the best I think in the city) and a Korean iced coffee. My God! It cured my hangover immediately and the spice made me feel alive.
I'm all about eating vegetables, and this place had fresh spinach and onions. I appreciated the fact that they took the time and cared enough about their customers and the food they serve. It was good in price and the owner of the restaurant cooks and serves with a big beautiful smile. Best Thai in the city! -

Good beer, good food, good size portions, good service, good price. But why is it so far away from me?! Ugh..
