My favorite yoga studio in the city! Everybody is so nice here. The instructors are fun and very engaging. The place is very clean and has great energy. They also have palates classes and massages.

    Definitely going back!

    Love, love, love this place!

I already do a lot of strength training and cardio, so when I go to yoga I prefer the type that is a little slower paced.  They do have Power Yoga here, but I was really intrigued by the Candlelight Restorative Yoga and Gentle Yoga classes and started by buying the beginner package (only $30 for 2 weeks for new customers).

Both of these classes were exactly what I was looking for!  If you're looking for some gentle stretching and relaxation, these classes fit the bill.

I also tried a Twilight Vinyasa class on a Tuesday night and that was right up my alley, too.  It was a little more challenging than the Candlelight and Gentle classes, but you still get to hold the poses for a while and really stretch.

The studio itself is small, but it's bright and inviting.  I love coming in here and the instructors are really nice.

The prices are reasonable, but since I already belong to a gym, I'm buying sets of classes (vs. a membership) and interspersing them with classes I take at my gym.  I wish I could afford to take all my classes here!

Check out their website and give the 2 week deal a whirl.  You won't regret it!

This review is long over due. I have been coming here for yoga and pilates a little less than a year and it is by far one of my favorite yoga studios. The space is good for up to 12 people comfortably but possibly more. Love the clean airy space and the music they play during yoga.
I try to go to Autumn's gently flow as she is my favorite instructor and it is good for my recovering injuries. I always walk out of there in a better mood than when I arrived. You can't really go wrong here as all the instructors are pretty awesome. The only thing l don't like is the temptation to go to Tony's Pizza after class. :)

Finally North Beach has a yoga studio!!!!!!

I've been going to the Bikram studio off of Columbus for years, as well as Funky Door off Polk, Aha off Union, Laughing Lotus down in the Mission and every now and then I'll try Satoryi Yoga downtown but they all were a trek from my little haven of North Beach.

Finally someone has opened a studio in my hood and it's actually good! Flow, gentle and pilates classes are offered - including some spa services as well (though I haven't tried them). I have to say the instructors are varied, their backgrounds diverse, their teachings Universal and the space small enough to invoke community. I hate walking into a studio that is so large it's almost commercial in nature.

Something to note, Glow is a warm studio (meaning heat is usually 75*) and you WILL sweat, even in the gentle flow classes!

I absolutely love Glow Yoga.  It's simply the best yoga studio I've been to in San Francisco.  The teachers are all incredible and each has a super sweet and nurturing personality.  They are all truly there for the well-being of their students.  From the first time I took a class at Glow, I have felt so welcome and relaxed the moment I walk through the door.  Glow is my happy place before or after work, and on the weekends.  I highly recommend Glow to anyone, whether you are a beginner or have been practicing yoga for a years.

What a lovely place to relax and indulge into yoga, wellness and overall well-being.
My compliments will be especially to the LED light therapy that is provided there.
I have suffer from a mild version of psoriasis and recently my symptoms have shown up yet again(skin patches and joint pain)
I was quite desperate since I had a long vacation ahead of me and I wanted to look and feel my best. I have taken 3 sessions of this light-bathing therapy and I was wowed by the effects ! The results have been visible right after the first try, change in color of my problematic areas,  joints that are not hurting with every move and all together better looking skin!
Even if you do not suffer from a skin problems, the warmth of the light bed will cheer you up and gives you a nice glow.
I am now officially dedicated to Glow Yoga and Wellness........

I've been waiting for a convenient yoga place in North Beach for years.  I am so in love with this place and their instructors, I have been back for 3 months in a row which is a huge personal accomplishment.

Its super chill, no seriously crazy yoga people.  All of the classes can be as hard or as easy as you'd like.

Rachel and Amber are the best.  Rachel has the most creative and exciting flow classes and I love when she sings at the end. I took an inversion workshop with Amber and loved the detail she goes into about proper form, super helpful for someone like me who just doesn't know the minute details.

The vibe at glow is super friendly, the owner and instructors pretty much know everyone by name.  I hope they keep adding more classes and more great instructors.

This is a great place in a great location.  I can either walk by or jump off the 41, 45 or 30 bus.

I take advantage of wonderful deep muscle massage and light therapy for an achy back.  My wife has become addicted to both the yoga and pilates mat classes.

The ambiance is light, airy, and soothing.  The massage and instruction is very high quality.

Just a great place to downshift and focus on feeling good.

Love this place! After trying out a handful of yoga studios around the Financial District, I finally started venturing a bit further out and it was definitely worth it. I used their new student special to try Pilates reformer for the first time, and am definitely a fan, but I also tried their yoga and mat pilates classes. Everything was great, but I really like any class with Mary Ann. She's a great teacher, really focuses in on the small adjustments and is motivating without being over the top.

I've taken to just doing the pilates mat classes and the reformer, but I did do a lot of the lunchtime yoga classes too. I prefer to keep my yoga sessions to 1 hour, 1h15 minutes just gets a bit long for me and especially with it getting dark earlier now, it's not as fun to do my walk home.

The studio is pretty clean but it's nice that they have 2 bathrooms you can change in and they have wipes, deodorant, spray, etc in the bathrooms to freshen up with.  The girls working at the desk are always friendly and often join in the classes later on as well.

It's a nice location, but since I live in SOMA and walk to work, it's the opposite direction of my house. I've been trying out another place closer to my house on a 1-month pass, which has been nice at least in winter, but after I'm done with that, I'll go back to Glow more full-time. It's worth the walk. I've found it difficult to find just the right studio and this is such a great place and very affordable which is hard to find for pilates. I never have trouble booking in for a class and generally the classes aren't too crowded. Best of all, I've really noticed a difference in my body and i love what the combo of mat pilates and the reformer can do for it. Adding in yoga occasionally and now a bit of the Dailey Method, I think I'll have a great routine.

I highly recommend this place, especially if you live in North Beach, or even if you work in the north end of the Financial District.

Today I spent 3.5 hours at Glow, doing back to back pilates, yoga, and an hour of deep tissue massage.  This place is not only conveniently located for me, clean and friendly--- to top it off, I got the 10 class deal on trubates which makes it more than a bargain to come here.

Marianne's pilates classes are not the easiest to follow, but she does come around correcting poses.  I didn't find her standoffish, rather, just her style of encouraging students to push themselves further.  I actually like that, as I want to maximize my workout and get those buns of steel, all the reason I do pilates.  The yoga class with Amber was a wonderful experience.  She is attentive to her students and offers modification, with the perfect balance of body and mind training.  The yoga class with Eric seemed to be a little more advanced.  I didn't know I could do the bird of paradise--- until I was in it.  I wouldn't mind a little more clarification on certain poses, but overall he is very friendly and encouraging.

My massage with elizabeth put me in a deep trance.  Following my back to back pilates and yoga, it was heavenly.  And a big praise also goes to the owner, Natasha.  She is so sweet and accommodating.  The first time i came to the studio for the pilates class, i was almost 30 min early.  She turned the music on for me, set down the mat and told me to just relax and stretch if I wished.  When I told her I love her place, she replied with a smile, "I love it too."   How lovely is that to see a local business owner so proud of her baby.  Definitely a great addition to this neighborhood.

I just discovered Glow this week and I'm already a devotee. As a newbie to both pilates and yoga I was a bit nervous but everyone has been incredibly helpful and encouraging.

Also I have to mention Amber, who is a yoga instructor and an amazing massage therapist. She's easy to talk to and knows her stuff, I'll definitely be signing up for additional sessions!

Another amazing plus? You can sign up for all the classes online!

A beautiful new yoga studio in North Beach right next to Washington Square.   The studio has a warm feel with lots of natural light.   Very well organized and friendly atmosphere.

I took a yoga class taught by Rachel.    I found her to be a great teacher overflowing with positive energy.    Her class started slowly and gradually became more intense until by the end she had put us through a rigorous workout.   I really enjoyed the pace and flow of the class.

I'll definitely be returning Glow.    Very happy that N Beach finally has a top notch Yoga/Wellness Center.

5-star studio. Rachel taught such a solid, intentional class of lunchtime vinyasa. I am VERY particular about my practice and become easily frustrated when instructors teach without a well-planned vinyasa, leaving awkward moments of transition or non-movement. Rachel knew her routine, her yoga foundations, and was full of warm, welcoming energy!

The studio is beautiful, as well! Bright with natural light and tasteful decor. Highly recommended!

I really enjoy Glow yoga - friendly, clean, chill: all I ask for.

I used a deal for one month unlimited and really wish it was longer. I fell in love with Amber teaching on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She was very energetic, not over doing it with technical-yoga terms and would lead an inspiring class every time. I do wish I found a teacher who taught more aggressive, harder classes but that was okay, I am going to go back and try them again.

The vibe is super chill and never over crowded. Convenient location in Washington Sq park. Also do pilates which I didn't take advantage of but they do have LED light therapy, which I got to experience - very cool!

    Check them out!

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. everything I was looking for and more.  I've been wanting to get back into yoga but have been dreading having to go the crowded sweaty chaotic yoga classes at crunch.  I found a deal on groupon and was in desperate need of a relaxing class after my first midterm so figured why not?  For $11 there wasnt much to lose.  I went to their friday candelight restorative class with Erika and it was just what I needed.  The studio was new, clean, bright, airy, and tasteful.  Everyone was nice and low key.  There were 4 people in the class which was about 5 times the size of the studio at any gym Ive been to.  Erika's class was the perfect blend of physical and spiritual.  I came out of class so relaxed and centered.  Erika even started the class by massaging a little peppermint oil on our shoulders!  A++

    Amazing spa service!!

I purchased a diamond microdermabrasion treatment through Trubates for this spa and just came back from my treatment. It was hands down the best experience I have had getting a facial treatment.

First off, the space is beautiful, bright and tranquil. I was greeted immediately upon entering the space by the wonderful woman who did my facial (I can't remember her name but I will call to find out). She had me fill out a questionnaire about my skin which I really liked. So many times I have had so called anestheticians not ask my one thing about my skin so her attentiveness was refreshing.

She continued to check in with me during the treatment to make sure I was okay (I have sensitive skin). I actually fell asleep during the last steps so she helped wake me up by asking me to take deep breathes of a great smelling peppermint based cream or oil she had rubbed in her hands (I was half asleep so I think it was peppermint, but either way it was a nice way to wake up).

I could tell from the minute she put the exfoliating cream on my face that I was getting an actual facial. Sometimes you purchase these Groupons or Trubates and you don't get the best quality in what you purchased, not here. Compared to this facial, the microderms I've gotten in the past I basically just gave money to a spa and had them rub foot cream on my face for all I know.

My skin feels clean, looks great...I can't wait to see what it looks like three days from now when the results usually start to show on my face.

    Love love love this place!!!!

i went from excited to having a new yoga place by my work to very frustrated and feeling disrespected very quickly after my first visit to glow yoga.  The owner called me after i went in to inquire about eyebrow tinting to let me know in a very rude tone that they would not waste their time on doing simply an eyebrow and lash tint, but that i had to get another service like a facial or waxing in conjunction. i would have been open to despite the very high price of these multiple services if it was not presented to me so incredibly rudely, as if i was an idiot. I said never mind I will find somewhere else that I can get only the services I really want done and the owner hung up on me before I finished speaking! it was a terrible experience and I will now sadly never visit glow Yoga for any treatments or yoga sessions. I don't recommend you go either.

It is wonderful to have Glow Yoga/Pilates/Spa in the neighborhood.  The space immediately takes you out of the hectic, charming grime that is North Beach.  There are alot of classes to fit into whatever I have going on that week.  All the teachers are different, so I recommend that newbies try each of them.  I am into April's classes at the moment  --- upbeat yet grounded, challlenging yet encouraging, and a little spiritual twist.  I also feel she underscores the basics of doing safe Yoga poses -- I am a stickler for that -- without losing the pace of the class or straying from classical yoga.

Glow draws wonderful people with great energy --- both those who attend and those who work there.  Not just a yoga class!

Ok. So I've been on an arduous search of the city lately to find not only the perfect space to practice yoga, but an incredible teacher as well. My weekly mission has been to hit a different studio each week, take a class, and assess how I feel about my experience on the walk home. After weighing the pros and cons I rate the studio based upon the following factors: atmosphere, personality (of owner & teachers), cleanliness, and accommodation. Today, I didn't even get out the door before the head of Charlie Sheen appeared before me and shouted, "Winning!!"

    This. Place. Rules.

Not only are the people who work there delightful (the front desk girl turned out to be the owner - I love it when that happens - bonus points), they're interactive. The woman who greeted me escorted me to the front where she took my information and charged me for class. As she typed away I glanced around and noticed how clean and cute this place was. With a bright, inviting disposition I felt extraordinarily comfortable. Reception-girl turned out to be teacher-lady, so after a few questions about the place she led me into a gorgeous studio with wood floors, numerous shelves for personal items, a row of large windows, and surround sound speakers. One might be curious about that last part. Being a music megalomaniac, I was just that. Soon I learned that they, naturally, projected the playlist selected for class, an amalgamation of pleasant beats and motivating melodies. Halfway through the session Daft Punk came on. Jackpot.

As for the class itself, I haven't been this pleased with a series in quite a while. The pace was perfect, the duration of each pose seemed appropriate, and it appeared as though the teacher (Amber) was designating postures based upon our abilities in the ones previous. She modified the direction of the class according to our physical aptitude - quite impressive, really.

Afterwards, feeling renewed and a bit more calm than when I entered, I met with Amber to discuss my practice and address questions that arose for me during class. She helped me, jovially, and spoke to me for as long as she could before heading back in to teach her next group.  We high-fived. No big deal.

When I turned to the reception desk there was a new woman standing there, and I approached to ask about packages and volunteering.  She was incredibly jocular. She was also the owner.  I questioned her about something I had read on the website. The studio utilizes Far Infrared Therapy (FIR), light wavelengths below the frequency of visible red light. Though visually undetectable to humans, it can be felt as heat, penetrating below the skin as a medical therapy. With a myriad of health benefits this form of energy increases blood flow and metabolism, improves white blood cell function (and therefore immunity), and even expunges harmful metals trapped within the body. Jaw dropping. After a brief discussion she pointed me toward her beverage station where she provides water infused with fresh, organic oranges and real ginger. I had three cups before I realized I was being gluttonous and settled for the water I brought with me. Oranges and ginger - who knew?

I went to go change and the bathrooms were spotless!! With modern fixtures and fragrant, citrus hand-soap, my experience using the loo was just as relaxing as the class. Hopping out prepped for my trek home, I exchanged gratitude and farewells with the owner, and sailed outta there on a buoyant cloud of uplifting, infrared nirvana.

This studio is brand new, in a convenient area of North Beach, and oh yeah, classes are only 10 bucks all month. March is the new January, so get geared up and hit Glow Yoga for some detoxifyingstretchmagic. I'll be the one levitating on the way out. Seeya there.

Studio and Staff get an 11. I found my spot.

    "Winning!!"

This is my last day using the one-month unlimited pilates mat and yoga classes I purchased from Bloomspot.

Natasha (owner) and Marianne (pilates instructor) continue to be their sweet, gentle selves, and I am impressed!

I feel sad that I won't be able to attend the classes until mid-August as I have to travel.

Nonetheless, I will be back!!!  I availed of their July special for unlimited monthly pilates mat and yoga class.

Thanks to Natasha for letting me sample one session of the LED light therapy - it does help with sore muscles!  So, I also purchased their July special for light therapy.

I am a fan of Glow Yoga & Wellness forever!

I just came from my first Pilates class at Glow Yoga. I give it 5 stars!!!

I used a Bloomspot certificate.  The owner, Natasha, is the one who mans the reception desk - she is very nice and sweet and checking in with my certificate was easy.

The yoga and pilates studio is nice and clean and has wood floors and is big enough to have a medium class but not so big that you have too many students in the class - I took the 5pm pilates class taught by Marianne.

Marianne is an excellent Pilates teacher - she checks your form and helps you get the moves right and suggests alternatives for those who are not yet limber enough to do the full moves.  She is a very gentle and calm teacher, unlike some places (gyms) where the teacher makes the pilates class feel more like an aerobics class by quickly moving from one form to the next.  Don't get me wrong -Marianne's moves are challenging and make you sweat but you are not hurried through the moves at all.  She demonstrates the moves and explains which muscles should be engaged, and how to protect your back.

I give Marianne 5 stars too - I will definitely be back for more Pilates and also Yoga.

More reviews will be posted as I go through different classes and teachers.

Popped by the studio with my boyfriend for a quick class while I was in town last weekend. Having taken classes at a few other studios, I'd say this one tops my list!  The space is adorable, airy and bright, and the instructor was amazing, very attentive and hands on.  There was a big space for the yoga class as well as a room for Pilates classes on the reformers.  Natasha, the owner, was incredibly sweet and made sure we both enjoyed the experience afterward.  5 stars!  :)

    Glow Yoga Studio is phenomenal!

I've been going there for about a month now and have experienced a wide range of instructors and classes. Every instructor has been exceptional in their own way - some classes are more physically arduous while others focus on an inner serenity. Regardless of the focus, you'll leave feeling happy and peaceful.

The class sizes range from 2 people to about 10. At first, I was nervous being in the smaller classes, but the personal instruction was incredibly helpful. The instructors really want you to improve your poses and get the full benefits of the practice. Everyone who works there takes the time to ask your name and really personalize the experience.

After attending Glow, improving my craft and actually feeling like I'm part of the yoga community I'll never go anywhere else!

As with something new one always wonders whether it's a good idea to try something new....my old yoga class was rather comfortable and I got used to the instructor too (at club one), so I was thinking whether it would worth it to try this new place. Since they had $10 special  I decided to give it a go....and I  was Sooo pleasantly surprised. The studio is extremely spacious, clean and bright. Wooded floors, day light and bright colors make it feel very natural.
I am not a yoga pro, but have been practicing for about a year now.  The class itself was rather challenging (my body feels sore, in a good way, even 2 days after it). Since the studio just opened, and have not gotten crowded yet, I got extra attention from the instructor (Brandy). She was great: very positive, Happy and attentive. She managed to provide enough challenge without overwhelming with complexity, which I am sure she is capable of. I felt great during and after the class and would highly recommend this unique place to everyone.
I tried Sunday morning class at 11am...it Made my day!
P.s. Had excellent brunch at Mama's after the workout. It is just across the street.

I attended the grand opening on the last Saturday. It 's such a nice area. Everything is well organized. Teachers and admins are very friendly and helpful. There are tons of good food around that area too.

I 'm visting SF for the weekend and decided to de-stress by taking a yoga class.  I found this awesome little place on Yelp and am so glad I took the time to stop by.  Marianne is amazing!  It was the first time where I had a yoga instructor really watch my form and she would guide us through each pose, helping us to reposition and really maximize the movement.  Not to mention the place is super cute!  I would definitely recommend trying a class at this studio- even if you're in town for a quick visit.  It's totally worth it.
