Great place! They have everything; bowling, swimming, gym, tennis, badminton, curling, a caf, a restaurant, AND a pub!! What more could you need?
The downside is the price of membership, and the wait time to be accepted as a member, but the price pays for amazing amenities and gets you crazy discounts on classes. They have separate girls', boys', ladies' and men's locker rooms, all of which have access to lockers, showers with soap and shampoo, towels, the ladies' and men's have steam rooms. It's amazing. And you can eat at the caf and the pub and charge it to your membership card and pay later. The pub has great food, good beer, some TVs for watching mostly sports, and a billiards table.
I've been lucky enough to have taken fun skating classes as a kid here, jazz dance, a diving program, swimming levels, and tennis. Their fitness class selection is diverse and are top notch; I took a ski conditioning class and got super fit and prepped for ski season. The instructors have always been friendly, helpful and caring, and the staff are great too. It's a very clean and well kept building that offers "sooo many activities"!
Members can bring friends to do some bowling, swimming, book a tennis court, for free! Love this place. -

I don't have a membership to attend the Glencoe, but many of my family members do and I am often brought here by guests. The place is pretty traditional, in the sense of old school athletic clubs that only allow access to members. They definitely set themselves apart from the YMCAs and Leisure Centres of the city.
The place is enormous, offering conference areas, a bowling alley, a swimming facility both indoor and outdoor, a skating ring, a large cafeteria, a weight centre, courts, and much much more. For anything active, the Glencoe is definitely the place to go if you have the cash. They even have a lounge for adult only events. The place is really quite massive.
Of course, I'm sure the membership is ridiculously priced. If I had the money, however, I just might buy one.
