Review from Joe B.
The Wife and I stopped in for breakfast. The interior is very dated but what is important is the food and they do breakfast very well. I had the Perogi, Eggs, Bacon and Toast while The Wife just wanted a side of potatoes. The thought of perogi for breakfast was just to interesting to pass up. My plate arrived with two perfectly cooked eggs, 3 slice of bacon, 2 pieces of toast and 3 perogi with onion, bacon bits and sour cream. All of this was only $5.75! The Wife's hash browns were the shredded kind and it had some crispy bits which are her favorite part.
If Gilmore's lunch and dinner are anything like our breakfast, I don't think you will be disappointed. -

Dope dope dope cheap diner run by a Chinese couple. Decor looks like it's from the 1980s but it's surprisingly clean and well-kept.
Lots of faux-Cantonese4 food on the menu and some greasy spoon classics - including some you don't expect... corned beef with cheese on rye for $8? Yes, please. Portions are large and it's really the perfect joint to sit with a buddy or two to plot your next hare-brained scheme... or you laugh at how disastrously your last one went. As you get non-stop refills on your coffee.
I think I finally found a pretty damned decent greasy spoon in my area. -

For $8.95 you really can't go wrong with an 8oz. Char-broiled steak with corn, mashed potato and soup or salad. The decor seems like it's from the 70's but it's a cozy place, clean and in a great neighborhood. This place usually has good lunch specials from Monday to Friday for under $6 and the portions are huge. No wonder this place has been written up in the province and local Burnaby newspapers as a hidden value gem.
