Home alone - and wanting a chick flick?
Need a giggle to pass a hangover Sunday?
Feeling like your wintertime cold will never end?
Giga will have you glued to your screen: with documentaries, TV series, foreign films and mainstream hits, it's hard not to find one or two movies to watch. Especially on two-for-one Tuesdays!
PS. Thanks to Bradley C for reminding me that I hadn't written a review about Giga yet! -

This was my go to place for cool DVD rentals. They have a wall dedicated to the smaller artsy type of flicks that are usually so hard to find. But a recent experience has made me not want to rewind and be kind.
I returned a DVD and explained that it froze at a certain point during the film. 1:22:01 to be exact. Other than a few hmms and haaaas I got nowhere with the owner. He played the movie on the big TV and didn't even go near the one hour point. "Doesn't freeze for me" he says. DUH!
I thought the Video store rental "Code" was that you just got a free rental to your account when something like this happens? Not here.
I won't rent here again. And I won't rewind either. -

I LOVE Giga DVD. I used to go on a very regular basis, because I had an all-you-can-rent membership grandfathered under a very cheap plan. The staff are always friendly, really helpful, and they get to know their regulars.
One star off only because they don't have the complete seasons of a lot of TV shows - which, for someone without cable, is an issue.
I haven't been for awhile - I gave up my membership when the economy collapsed, and I've been streaming TV instead. However, for any DVD needs, Giga is the place to go! -

Giga DVD is a great source for the obvious. Located just before the Burrard Street Bridge, the store face can't be missed. Inside are racks of new releases and choice favourites. Although the selection is far from as comprehensive as Blockbuster, us locals find it invaluable.
The numerous times I've been here, I've found what i wanted. And this success is in the face of my eclectic tastes. The selection surpasses Rogers Video, where I find pickings slim despite the size of the corporation.
If you find yourself in dire DVD need in my neighbourhood, screw Rogers, go Giga.
