Review from Rana L.
I was super happy w/ our cake. It was the best looking cake I'd ever seen (yes a little bias) & tasted great. A lot of the guests complimented us afterwards & asked where the cake was purchased... plus we did not spend an arm and leg! Which is why we heart Tastee :)
Thank you to Daniel & Bernard for making our dream wedding cake :)
It was 6 tiers. They accomodated us & we had vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, strawberry shortcake, chocolate strawberry, chocolate chestnut! ^^ It did not cost extra for the diff tiers so we were extremely happy.
Most importantly, they arrived on time (5:30pm) & the cake arrived in top form ^^Listed in: Chinese Bridezilla for a…, Sweetness to my soul

This Tastee's location is much better than the one at Denison. I think they have different owners.… Read more »

This place used to be a hit. I feel bad for giving the least amount stars here, but hey I've got a reason. Like Bijan, I used to attend the school across the street from here every lunch I'd most likely eat instant noodles. That was until I found out about Tastee's patties. They were absolutely fresh, hot, filling and delicious, not to mention CHEAP! It used to be only $1.00-1.25 and with cocobread it'd be an extra $0.50-0.75.
That was then. I recently went there about 2 months ago and tried a vegetarian patty. I was very dissapointed, because there was HARDLY any filling! Mostly eating the flaky pastry and my friend who ordered a beef patty didn't get as much filling as we used to. In addition, the prices rose! So, let's see what we've got here.
Prices go up = Patty filling goes DOWN?! That doesn't seem right to me..
Overall: Please, consider what you're doing and inject MORE (not less) beef filling into those golden flaky patty shells of yours! -

Absolutely great little bakery. From pastries, to cakes, to fresh breads, to little chinese pastries, this place has got it all and it's got it good! I used to go to the junior high across the street and this was THE place to grab lunch or after school snack.
Try their spicy jamaican patty with cocoa buns, mmmmm good memories! They make a mean garlic bread and you have to try their custard buns and pineapple buns. What am I talking about you have to try EVERYTHING they sell!!! -

Good little neighbourhood bakery. The patties are awesome, and they are always fresh and flaky.
They have a nice assortment of fresh breads, and chinese buns.
The chef is a pastry chef, and this is where he really shines. His pastries are wonderful, especially the rum balls and the almond croissant.
A good walking distance place for me! -

George and I go wayyyy back... he's the best friend I never had.. Oh George. George's Tastee Bread & patties is a pretty kick ass bakery. My mom introduced this bakery to our family a few years ago. The baker there studied somewhere in Europe, I think France or Italy. Anyway, they make really good and fresh desserts.
A tradition with our family is their tiramisu cake. For those who don't know what a tiramisu cake is (SAD), it's made out of espresso coffee and lady fingers. There's actual cake in there too, I'm not sure if that's the traditional way to do it. Anyway, it's absolutely delish! It comes in two sizes, I'm not sure the measurements, but it is more expensive then say getting a cake from Loblaws. But it just doesn't compare. They do sell Jamaican patties, though I've never tried. They also sell cookies (gingerbread cookies are pretty good) and chinese buns.
Don't let the mediocre name fool you, Tastee's is a great little bakery! -

After trying many, many places for Chinese buns, Jamaican patties and other pastries, we come back to Tastee's as our favorite. Not the cheapest, but quality comes with a price. Despite the similarity of the name with other establishments, this place is a stand-alone entity.

My wife saved George. After eating the pork bun he almost got a two from me. Lucky for him the pineapple bread was better than normal and the curry beef bun wasn't bad. However, George's real saving grace was that multi grain bread. My wife liked it so we may give George another chance or two. In other words try everything but the gelatinous pork bun... ^^;;;
