Loved it! Was here for a wedding reception, the owner is a super super awesomely nice guy! I had made the wedding cake, and he had no problem storing it and helping me assemble it AND cutting/serving it.
We had to pre-order our food, and I asked for the Spaghetti (not spicy) and it wasn't! It was really really good. The salad was fresh, and the appetizer's (spinach & artichoke dip) was surprisingly good since I don't like it at all.
The atmosphere is really cool... small and cozy. They have limited drinks, so if you want to get your drink on, you may only have a choice from 10 drinks.
The place that was here before (The Pyramid Cafe) was horrible... I'm so glad something good has finally been established here -

The space that George & Lito's occupies on Windsor Street has gone through many incarnations in the recent past, the most recent being its rebirth as George & Litos, which I guess could best be described as casual dining. It's a cute little spot without real pretensions to greatness, and that's fine.
It's great, I'm sure, if you live in the neighbourhood, to have a nearby place with decent, affordable food. It's not really a restaurant that I'd pick as a destination, just because there's nothing particularly spectacular about it, but I have no real complaints either.
Our waiter was a real treat when we were there. Very easygoing and chatty - turns out he's an interior decorator, so he has put his talents to work on the restaurant's decor. Nice to see some thought being put into the space, as opposed to its last few incarnations, when it was pretty bare-bones.
Good, decent food. Great service. Also happens to be attached to the laundromat, so I'm sure it makes for a much happier laundry day. -

Oh George & Lito's, you could be so many wonderful things yet you've missed the mark. This location on Windsor is fantastic. When it was the Pyramid Cafe it was a bumping hot spot, albeit a bit of a disaster (but that's neither here nor there). Now that George and Lito's has taken up residence, the gritty charm of the previous businesses has gone out the window.
The decor and renovations are confusing. Yes, it's nice and clean, but the black and red interior creates a mood that the food does not meet. Not that the fancy attempts are altogether successful; it's more imagined upper scale dining decor meets a greasy spoon menu.
During my few George and Lito's jaunts, I've cumulatively consumed an omelet, beer and fries. The omelet was nothing exciting, while the homefries were frozen, McCain tater tot deals. I just don't get the uninspired, lack-lustre cuisine when there is already so much of it to choose from in the city. I want something specific, done well - is that too much to ask?
I don't want to be hard on a neighborhood, independent resto, but I'm in a corner here. The service is very friendly, but the product leaves a lot to be desired. It just ain't good eating, and that's my two cents. -

George & Lito's - I have driven by here so many times, this time I needed to kill some time so I stopped in.
The interior is very nice, nothing fancy, pretty reasonable prices for the menu, the staff is great though. The biggest thing is the owner, always friendly and chatty. It i nice in the summer because they have an outside eating section. -

I don't know that George and Lito's has gone downhill, I suppose they've just stopped cooking things the way I love them.
The bacon used to be nice, thick, well cooked bacon. Lately when I go there it's either runny, or overly crispy, or half and half (on one strip!)
The homefries used to be nice and golden brown, beautifully cooked, with a nice dash of seasoned salt over them. brilliant. now they're dropped in the deep fryer just long enough to cook them.
All I ever eat there is breakfast so I can't really comment on anything else. -

The only thing good about this place is the friendly owner. He's very charming, and I would happily stop by again for a coffee or a drink while my laundry's spinning around next door at the Bluenose.
As for food: never again. Soggy salad, bland (and tough) spanikopita, decent lemon potatoes. The mushrooms on the boyfriend's burger were barely cooked at all, and the hamburger itself was not worth mentioning. -

If I lived in this neighbourhood I might see the feasibility of growing fond of this little establishment. As it is, I live farther away and there are plenty of far better brunch options in my hood. Sorry George and Lito, but if I head up Windsor I'd rather be going for something more enticing than your impressively bland chocolate milk pancakes. I did like the atmosphere, very down to earth lighthearted, but if I order chocolate milk pancakes, they ought to be chocolatey, dig?
Plus the waitress spilled a glass of water on us. A mistake anyone can make, but we still left damp.
