Despite how cold and damp it is outside, I almost always want some gelato here. My friend was living in Italy for a few months and was kind of sad about the state of gelato when she cam back to Seattle. Brought her here, she loved it, and came back the next day.

I recommend pistachio flavor. Important fact: You can get two flavors when you order a single scoop. Also important: they are cash only.

Dolce Amor has a variety of flavours however, when I went in today, it looked like one of their freezers were empty but it didn't matter as my eyes went straight to what flavours were available.

They only had 2 sorbet flavours: Blood Orange and Mango. The girl behind the counter let me try both flavours so I can decide and both were very good. I went with the Mango as it felt like a Mango day. It was fresh, very cold (hate when it melts before you get a chance to eat it) and not too sweet. I only ordered a single scoop in a cup and wished that I had ordered a double.

A little pricey for $4.50 a single scoop in a cup... should have gone for a double as it seems like a better deal. Cash only, so don't bring plastic or you'll be disappointed.

Gourmet ice cream at decadent prices sums up this rich and sweet ice cream shop on the corner of Commercial Drive and Gravely.

The portions are big, but they had better be at $5 for two scoops. All the flavors I tried were really delicious, but the ice cream tends to always be softer then it should be, making eating a race against the sun. Try the white chocolate raspberry swirl.

While the store used to be large and able to handle the high traffic during the summer months, they recently divided the place in half and opened up a wine bar on the south side. Now it tends to get packed quite easily and the slow service doesn't help.

Repeat after me. Affogatto. A scoop of gelato topped with a shot of espresso. Woo-hoo! This spot offers imported coffees, homemade gelatos, and cakes. I have yet to try to affogatto as my preference for a refreshing treat on a summer day won over the espresso. I will be back for it for sure.

A vast selection of flavours to choose from. White chocolate raspberry, toblerone, green apple, bubblegum, limoncello, orange creamsicle, straciatelli, tiramisu, fruity sorbets.. endless! All looked insanely good.

Sadly, my strawberry cheesecake gelato looked a lot better than it tasted. The gelato was smooth and creamy, and cheesecake gelato base a-ok. It was the strawberry drizzled in that threw me off. It tasted artifical, more on the candy flavored kind than the fresh flavoured with bits of real fruit kind I like. Nonetheless, will come back to try the other flavors, this time with a shot of espresso to top it off.

So yummy! They have a good selection of flavors (but obviously not as many at that place on Venebles)...

my FAVORITE flavor in the whole wide world is definitely Coconut. I will always get this flavor, and if my sweet tooth is really itchin' for sugar, I'll combine coconut with a scoop of Ferroro Roche (Mmmm... its a delectable mix of chocolate and hazelnut).

So Dolce Amore is now a wine bar, or has been moved next door to the family owned wine bar called Divino.  This gelateria is surprisingly good and there aren't that many on Commerical Drive for some reason.  The ice cream is creamy and rich, and is displayed to look like whipped creme.  The flavours are similar to other Italian ice cream places, like Mondo Gelato and Amato Gelato, I really can't tell the difference between them to be honest.  I mean it's not store bought Dairyland brand or DairyQueen, but they all kind of taste the same.  A chocolate is a chocolate.  The prices are great and the vibe on Commercial is always a big get.

Fantastic... half the case are fruit flavours, the other half ice-cream-like confections like Reese's Cup and White Chocolate Raspberry. You can taste anything you like in advance, too.

Delicious!  Gelateria Dolce Amore has fresh, homemade gelato in all the standard flavours and some more surprising ones like lavendar and toblerone.  On a warm day there's bound to be a line up, but it's worth it when you taste the smooth scrumptiousness of this gelateria.
