Review from Shannon M.
Burnaby, BC
My new sushi joint.
So close to home and open all day instead of split up for lunch and dinner like some places. I've probably gone 10-15 times now and as long as they keep it up, I'll continue to be a regular.
The tuna tataki roll is really good and for $4.50, you can't go wrong. Our main rolls are the tuna tataki, philadelphia and the alaska. The toro nigiri is one of my faves - not tiny and smooth. I also love how they have wild (sockeye) salmon.
Service is awesome. Always there with a smile!
I definitely recommend this place. I went in one day randomly and expecting nothing. I actually hoped it wasn't good so that I wasn't tempted to eat out so much. Well that's not going to happen now....
Keep it up Gaya! -

This place is my favourite sushi place now. I hate going to sushi garden and sushi town after discovering this place.
This place is similar to the sushi place like sushi garden and sushi town but with MUCH MUCH better service. And the quality of food is better!
I'd rather pay a little more and get much better service and quality than go to sushi garden or sushi town.
The only con is that it is really in the middle of nowhere. but if you live near here, you have to give it a shot and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Try the firecracker roll here, its delicious! -

This sushi place has now become our family sushi hangout. We have yet to order anything that did not taste good. Their nigiri pieces are very generous; sushi is always fresh. We really like their tempura, tuna tataki, spicy tuna roll, firecracker roll, and house roll.
Gaya is one of the best when it comes to service. Very friendly staff, attentive servers, and welcoming owners. I highly recommend this place.1 Previous Review: Show all »

This place has only been open recently and have been curious about the place every time as I been driving by Lougheed. Went for dinner tonight and am glad that others have experienced it too. The food is fresh and pricing is reasonable, big plus is that there is no other restaurants in the area.
The salmon was fresh and tender, and the staff were efficient in getting our food quickly. We will return to try the complete menu. If you like Sushi Garden or California Sushi you should enjoy Gaya.
It is a cozy sized stripmall so parking may be tight as more people discover this place .
