I love coming to the GLC!! Every time I am there with a group of friends it's like impossible to hear one another so I always get transfixed on the giant projector screen that plays Warren Miller videos.
I love the live music and the location is great! Unlike longhorn's which can get crowded, you can usually find a place in here, especially on a sunny day coming off the mountain. I think it might even be a little more reasonable. -

Positive:
- Location. Can't beat the base of Whistler. Great place to watch the Fire & Ice show on Sunday night. And they let small kids onto the patio when Longhorn doesn't.
- Airy atmosphere. The interior is wide open and attractive.
- Appetizers. (That's all we ate.) Waffle fries were fresh & tasty.
- Music. Sunday night's DJ made an interesting mix of classic rock & hip hop.
Neutral:
- Service. First two times we were there on our last trip, server came out right away and took our orders, but took a long time to bring drinks even though it wasn't super-busy. Third time we were there, same thing happened, though after the first drinks were brought out, server came back more often and was courteous.
Negative:
- Drink speed. If you're dying of thirst and expect to receive salvation at Garibaldi, you may as well give up all hope, as it apparently takes at least 15 minutes for the place to tap a keg, make fresh coffee, or melt snow to make water. -

Ok, so maybe it's because I was there during the Telus Ski and Snowboard festival, and Broken Social Scene was playing on the stage which GLC has the best view to - and as such was rammed- but the service was unbelievably crap. Our server abandoned us for the better part of an hour. My Daquiri came out as a Margarita, and I couldn't track her down to let her know for another 30 minutes. The place was rammed, and we had an awesome view of the concert, on the patio, in the sunshine - so that part was great. The food was alright - nothing special, nothing awful - but the service is what really put me off.

Great late night place to kick it. We came in on X-mas evening and a DJ (a damn good one) was playing old school rock and mash-ups amazingly well.
The hot wings were redonkulously hot. Like Cluck U's hot, if you've had them in the Bay Area.
Beers were icy cold and the huge long couches were great after a long day on the mountains.
Not quite my style, but a great place for the sub-30's crowd.Listed in: Whistler, BC: because you just…

The best Apres Ski bar in Whistler... This bar really rocks at dayz end of boarding or skiing on one of the two top mountains in N. America... It sits at the base whistler and you can easily slide down the mountain right to the front door if you want. "Ace" the DJ spins tunes that keeps you moving an shaken from the minute you unbuckle to the last drink. The huge open beam room has a giant river rock fireplace on one wall, super long stand up bar, top notch DJ's daily, and yummy food.... Lots of big screen tv's play games or crazy extreme skiing/boarding flicks.
This bar keeps on winning top Apres lounge bar for a reason; Location, Atmosphere, Vibe, Music etc. You don't ride or ski then simply watch the crowd slide down on their last run of the day as you mingle over a beer or snack on some "sex cheese" or just people watch. Every Sunday night its a front row seat for the Fire-Ice show. -

This place better be worth it, is what I thought as I drove up to Whistler in the dark of night. I've never seen the Sea to Sky highway during the day, and I was not impressed with it at night. At any second I thought I might drive right off a cliff. Someone said it used to be called the Sea to Die highway. Not sure if that's true, but I could see that...
The mission of this trip: make a show at Garibaldi Lift Company. The music: EOTO. Having seen them live about five times, I had no doubt in their ability to deliver. But, you never know when a sucky venue will strike, or an obnoxious crowd.
Upon finally getting there, it was overall great. The set up is nice- with seating available along the edges. In center of the room is sunken in, and around the walls you are on a raised area. Which is a great set up for everyone getting to see the action. My one grief was that during a break we wanted to get some fresh air, and we were told it would cost us five bucks each to get back in. What the heck? That was a little retarded, but everything else was kosher. It was worth the drive. -

I've been going to Whistler for a few years now and I hit the GLC every time. Good reliable food and very friendly staff.
The burger is extremely good and the pizzas are very good as well. The beef dip is alright but not great and the fires are - well, they're fries but they're cooked well. :)
The price is fair given the location and the atmosphere is wonderful.
It's best in the summer when one can sit on the patio watch the downhill mountain bikers take the last jumps of the run. In winter it's a bit cold or course and the bottom of the skiing run isn't as interesting.
A few reviews have complaints but it's great for what it is - it's a fairly priced pub at the foot of a top-rated ski mountain with great staff and is kid friendly during the day. -

This place is great for apres ski or lunch. Despite the occasional stinky/BO apres ski people this place has a decent drink selection, but best of all SEX CHEESE! It has to be the only notable food item here, so good.
PS if you're not from Canada, Kootenay is better than Kokanee -

Really good food and reasonably priced for being on the mountain. Definitely try the flat breads!

This is by far my least favorite of the three mountain bars (Merlin's, Dusy's and the GLC). The waitstaff was always rude, the food was unimaginative and it was always infested with tourists. The best part of the place by far is the small patio to the left that allows you to watch all the tired skiers eat it right before they make it to the bottom of the hill. So really, the best part of this place is only for the sadists. I think most people in Whistler are though.

Went to a snowboard flick premiere, listened to Mat the Alien kick off a wicked set, won two snowboard vids and my man a slick Signal jacket. Met some cool pros and some other kids. Everyone was enjoying the jam, only complaint was it seemed to shut down too early.

the GLC puts on a good whistler apres. i wouldn't say there is a whole lot to write home about besides the location and the locals who fill the place up.
they supposedly offer whistler bike park pass-holders a deal, but when i asked about the discount they looked at me funny and told me it was a no go. but it's there on the whistler website!!
the food is pretty good. standout is the beef dip. the service? pretty inconsistent. though that's whistler for you... -

We heard this was the number one après ski destination in North America, so we had to check it out. Located right above the entrance to the Whistler gondola at the base of the mountain, it was packed with exhausted but happy skiers and boarders looking for a party. This is the type of place where you'll bond instantly over mountain war stories with the people sitting next to you, which is good because everyone is packed in pretty tight looking for that coveted drink which tastes so much better once you've earned it with a day of skiing. So check one for a hopping atmosphere, prime location and crazy ski / snowboard videos to entertain (in addition to the entertaining fellow skiers). As for food, we decided to split the nachos and save dinner for elsewhere. The nachos were average - tasty but not nearly the best I've had. I thought they were a bit burnt and could have used a bit more cheese in the layers underneath. But overall, definitely a fun place to check out after a long day on the mountain. The service is good and our server in particular was extremely friendly.

Touristy, average food, expensive drinks, slow service...but everytime I am in Whistler, I have to go here. Its a staple. The atmosphere is the best.
