I don't have any chidren of my own but do have a 9 year-old niece whose favourite store is Gap Kids. So, I headed there today to buy her Christmas presents --- of course, the day after their sale ended! But at least I did not have to fight the crowd and wait 30 minutes in line.
Her Christmas list simply noted "cute clothes" --- which means something very different for someone aged 9 and her aunt in the 40+ category. The sales staff were very helpful and the selection was still good. They pointed out things that are particularly popular with my niece's age group and warned me about being too "matchy matchy" in my effort to put together an outfit.
After about 20 mins, I was finally satisfied with my selection and headed to the cash register, where I resisted the urge to gulp when I heard the total cost. Oh well, at least one member of the family will be a stylish little diva!
After paying, I received weekly 40% off coupons for every Wednesday until Christmas. Hopefully, her Mom and use them because my shopping is done.
