If I could give zero stars, I would.
Gammage has a reputation in London for creating beautiful arrangements and delivering excellent customer service.
I've picked up flowers from Gammage plenty of times before, and I can attest that they do indeed have beautiful, quality flowers.
Unfortunately, my first delivery experience with them was a nightmare. I ordered a bouquet of fresh-cut flowers for my mom's birthday the day before. My mom did not receive the flowers on her birthday. No one was home when the delivery driver made his first (and only) attempt to physically deliver the flowers. Apparently, he left a card on the door to ask them to call Gammage to pick up the flowers, but my family returned home 10 minutes after he was there and there was no card on the door. Apparently, their voice mail system also wasn't working when he called to leave a message.
No one attempted to contact me (the customer) to let me know the flowers had not been delivered.
The best apology the manager came up with during our 15 minute conversation the next day was a backhanded "I'm sorry you feel that way." She was combative and said she saw nothing wrong with the way the business had handled the order. Her tone throughout the conversation was defensive and put the blame on my family for not being home. I was appalled a business that prides itself on its reputation and service would be as flippant as it was about the situation. I paid for a service that was not fulfilled. The manager did not offer any kind of compensation; I had to ask her for it (she complied).
I will never return to Gammage, and will advise everyone I know the same. There are plenty of other flower shops in London that also offer beautiful flowers, but treat their customers with the respect they deserve.

History
Established in 1869
Gammage Flowers is Canada's oldest flower shop. Established in 1869 by James Gammage, the original store and greenhouses were located on what is now Gammage St in London On. James son Wallace took over and ran the flower business with his son Gard and for a while sons Fred and Walter helped too. Gard Gammage moved the flower shop to the Hotel London in 1936 and later moved it to an address on Dundas St that now occupies London's Central Library. The Gammage family sold the business in the 1970's to London businessman John McKerlie who in the early 1980's relocated the store to it's present location at the corner of Waterloo and Oxford streets. The present owner, Judite Holder, is only the fourth owner of Gammage Flowers, a flower shop that is rich in history and tradition.
The shop's present location is in a building with a long history in the City of London. Built in the 1880's, this location once held a tavern that was frequented by the Black Donnellys. Later it was London's first
