Review from Alison B.
This place is a gem. So many colours for many fabric types. Also, not so pricey. A definite cut above the ol' Walmart RIT.
Reason 132432 I love Toronto .. a specialty dye store like G & S.
My entire apartment is going to become a colorful, (perhaps obnoxious) paradise thanks to this store. -

If you're looking for higher quality fabric dyes than RIT or Dylon, this is the place to look for it! They have all sorts of supplies for your fabric colouring needs: fibre reactive dyes, acid dyes, pre-reduced indigo, pigments, resists (wax and gutta), silk dyes and paints, polyester dyes (wow!), screenprinting supplies.. the list goes on*
They also carry fibre arts/textiles-related books, dyeing related equipment and a decent selection of white fabrics like silks and cottons. Be warned, the fabrics are a little pricier here than you might find in a fabric store - I suppose for the convenience of being a one-stop shop.
Dixon, the owner/proprietor, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. And since it's such a specialty store, you're almost always guaranteed attentive service since there's usually no more than one or two customers at a time.
Don't be fooled by the size of this little shop, the variety of options can be dizzying!

great selection-- every kind of dye you will ever need. ever. the people seem to know what they're talking about, too, so don't be afraid to ask questions. my one gripe is that they are VERY expensive. if you can find one item somewhere else, chances are it will be cheaper-- but here you can get it all in one place. i guess you just have to pay for convenience.
they sell fabrics too but those are so massively overpriced i'd prefer not to think about them at all.
