Great deal on a 50 inch TV 1080/wifi Samsung LCD! Ask for Justin the mgr. The most knowledgeable sales person I've met, Awesome Guy! If you are shopping for a TV within the next 6 months, go here ask for Justin. I doubt you will find a better deal that he can't beet and I know you won't find anyone more knowledgeable about TV's or the deals Future shop has. 50 inch Samsung HD, 4 yr warranty, that TV calibration/tuner thingy and delivery for around $1100. Unbelievable.

The staff at this Future Shop has the the worse attitude ever! On multiple occasions, I've had to line up for the customer service booth to buy a gift card but on each occasion, the employees there would take their sweet time, and by sweet time, I mean chatting amongst themselves.
There's this one fellow working in the gaming department that's a total dick. One time, I asked him if they had a particular game in stock and he answered with a "No!" as if he was asked that same question for the 100th time or something. All I could do was raise an eyebrow and think to myself, "somebody needs anger management". -

lol....
What can i say about this furture shop compared to other ones. Well this one has there faults in different departments.
I am giving it a rate of 2 stars because I am tech head and I was annoyed and disappointed.
here is are the good notes
1. cellphone area there is only one amazing employee ( her name Marim Sorry if I didn't get miss spelled your name) But she was the best help I have ever had at furtureshop she was also a good salewomen and she was knowledgable of the products and she was down to earth and just helpful of what I needed.
2. The audio department SUCKS big time. I love how 3 out of 6 employees basically gave me bullshit information on headphones. I get it Monsters are the best ones out there NOT ( overrated no hate on Dr.Dre but they are ) and I really got annoyed because I had one employee who basically stood there like a shadow hoovering over me and not giving me any space. I had at least employee who knew what he was actually talking about imformed me of headphones that I needed and didn't just push me for a sale.
3. TV department.......
I have one thing to say and that is I see a bunch of wannabe used Car salemen in this area of the store I don't even bother asking a employee I picked the TV I wanted and went straight to the cashier.
4. Computer Department
No Comment
5. Gaming
Overall, I am happy here but Selection is hurting but the staff in this department are very kind.
Overall Experience and thought
There on Commission so there like leeches just trying to make a sale but at the sametime I prefer customer service but I hate it when the employee thinks that they know what a customer really wants and what they really Need.
SO, if futureshop is reading this Their employees should have an approach of getting to know the customer and making the sale instead of looking at a customer like a dollar sign. -

I blame Future Shop for audiophile devolution. The de-education of product research. The greying of the preference and taste for electronics of the local masses.
I constantly have to stop people from running out from the office to buy a cable or adapter or home theatre speakers from this fluorescent giant.
The problem is, Future Shop is in your face, and usually at the right location for impulse buyers. Sales aren't really sales. There is a disconnect between in-store and online shopping. But Future Shop is king. King of the average and overpriced. And most reviewers have a bad service story to tell.
They often carry merchandise that is unique to them to avoid competitive pricing. They have an affinity to inferior brands with fancy packaging. Let me fill you in on something. Monster or Rocketfish are NOT premium products, but they carry outrageous price tags. And on ALL accessories. This is the real money-maker. They'll offer you a cheaper brand, but those are no better than a no-name computer store product which is a tenth of the cost.
They'll feature 'premium' brands such as Denon, Harman Kardon and Martin Logan, but only carry the low-end line. And people seem to love it, so FS isn't the only guilty partner. The stores may be big, but the variety of products isn't.
Do a bit of research. Use the internet as your guide. Get to know other stores. The next time you need that USB cable, LCD mount or wireless router, take a trip over to NCIX or other computer stores, or even Costco. And for quality audio, try your local hifi store first and hear the difference. Even if you don't buy elsewhere, you'll realize how much you're missing out on.Listed in: Yelp's 30-day Challenge, Uno Estrellas

This Future Shop needs a better rating!
I come here for most of my electronic needs, and have not once been disappointed. Time and time again I have found the customer service to be above and beyond what I've come to expect.
Way to go, downtown Future Shop! -

Well, I think we all know what we can and can't get at Future Shop. I went in looking for a surge protector for an upcoming trip. Sales people were either all gathered in one place with about 4 people helping one individual or not to be found. I ended up coming across what I needed without asking.
But then of course I had questions...uh, no one around. And one of the products I was looking at didn't have a price attached to it. Ugh. Anyway, I wrote the model numbers down and then did what I normally do which is search online and get suggestions from forums or sites like CNet reviews. In the end, it was way better to search online because in store they only had 2 models and online...a kajillion! OK, maybe not a kajillion but at least a bazillion.
Point being, unless you actually need to look at something, you can probably bypass going to the actual store. Also, even if you are in the store and ready to buy, i HIGHLY recommend getting all the model info and doing a few searches online as you may be able to find a cheaper online only deal...from Future Shop or other stores like Best Buy. -

Came here to buy some computer parts.
The place was surprising packed, for a Friday morning.
Their staff are still commissioned (unlike Best Buy), so yes they will try to upsell you. Something to keep in mind. Because of the same reason, however, they are a bit more inclined to help you.
The selection for computer accessories were hurting. I had to buy some computer monitors, and they a whopping 7 available. For Samsung (the brand I wanted, they had.. one. That's it!?
For big-ticket items you can bargain a little bit, or have them throw in accessories.
Everybody knows their accessories are a total rip. If you have ever purchased a $100 HDMI cable, we cannot be friends, I'm sorry.
Future Shop is a great place to browse and try, but if you want selection or a decent price, there are many smaller but superior stores out there. -

If you're going to buy a printer, ask Leo, he knows his stuff inside out! As a sales professional myself, I can respect sales ppl who know their product. knew the differences between literally all the companies, inkjet vs laser, type of paper, and most importantly, asked me what my needs were---and not pushing a product that he wanted to sell. that's sales!

I find Future Shop to have the best prices for video games and a really decent selection of previously played games.
They also have an incredible return policy. On more than one occasion I've had to go back even after the 30 day window with things that have been roughed up and they are still really, really good at helping and exchanging.
They aren't so great at matching prices of even Best Buy (which is part of the same company) but they've got a really decent selection of products and is always my first stop when I need something electronic. -

WOW!
Horrible experience......!
Walked in there a bit ago, got a beep from the alarm system.
Argued with the LP person who insisted they take my debit card
and put in on their demagnetizer to prevent future beeping.
Was going to spend a lot for a new computer and now in the market for a TV.
The GM called me back, he sucked and did not seem helpful at all.....
Serious i walked in and got accosted before I could even shop there.
I am not a thief!
However they will never get a dime from me again, nor Best Buy
their owners!
good bye FS! -

Great if you want their overpriced "extended warranty"
Future Shop carries everything. That's the good part. They have a great selection of electronics.
We were looking for two new computers. The sales rep was all over us trying to help us decide, but he kept talking about their extended warranty. We told him that we were buying computers, we were not interested in their extended warranty. He immediately mumbled something and left us, and would not help us any more. Pretty sad. We purchased our computers elsewhere.
I've heard too many friends with horror stories about their high priced "extended warranty" scam. -

I need a new lap top and so I have been researching on line to find the best deals...I am thinking about getting one of those little Accer lap tops and Future Shop has the best price of $349...BARGAIN! Remember when laptop were $2000 for a wide screen that weighed 35 pounds...???
As I looked on the little devise a young man offered his assistance...I let him know I was concerned about how much memory they had..the size for typing on...blah ..blah...we was great to answer all my question and was very knowledgeable on the lap tops...he even showed me some other options...
I thought it was so great to have someone help me in a big box electronics store...especially when you know they don;t work on commission and so it's rare to get good help...thanks to him I just may be back to buy the little Accer.. -

They don't offer the $9 HDMI cables in-store, only online. I guess the mark-up on them isn't enough to warrant offering them to the customers. What a BS policy.

I purchased Bioshock in January for the BF's birthday, because blowing up stuff and killing people helps him deal with getting older. Being the ignoram-ass that I am, I bought the first one when the sequel was coming out a few weeks later. Oops!
I didn't actually get a chance to return the game until this weekend, since I work two jobs, go to school, and write amazing reviews on Yelp which help me to procrastinate against all of the above. Anyways, I was preparing myself to be given the run around since technically I only had 30 days from the date of purchase to return the game. However, I am very pleased to say that there was no squabbling, and the man at customer service exchanged the game for me for Bioshock 2 with no hesitation! Yes! He did mention that he had to get a manager's authorization because it was beyond the 30 day return policy, and of course they checked to make sure the game had not been opened.
The game was exchanged quickly and we paid the extra cost to complete the transaction, and then I had to buy batteries, which is why I am only giving this review three stars as opposed to four.
Why on earth on a Sunday afternoon is there only one cash register running? There were five people in line in front of me waiting to pay, and each transaction was super slow. It does make the guinea pig in my brain start running when I realize that there are four people working in the customer service area and only one at the check-out. Ummm.... perhaps they spend more time servicing repairs than servicing the customers? Just sayin' -

I purchased several products from Future Shop by now and also used the Tech Support for a computer issue on my Macbook. Seriously, you would think how difficult is it to handle sales and technical support? Obviously pretty difficult indeed. The pocket size camera I bought had equipment missing which I figured out after I got home, the fact that Sony is not compatible regular Memory Cards was conveniently left of by the associate. My friend purchased a notebook and was asking about certain features to only have the salesperson going on about the extended warranty etc. but he had no knowledge whatsoever about the products itself. My tech support experience was a disaster for itself, promising it would be ready in 3 days I learned after returning 4! days later that nobody even looked at it. Everyone was very casual about it... I had to go on a trip so whatever, I gave them 2 more days. Coming back it was still not fixed. I then contacted the store manager that I give him a final chance to solve this matter in store before I contact the Future Shop Headquarters and National Sales Manager. That helped to get matters solved after another 3 days (and I count business days only). Including diagnostic pre-payment I still paid about 180$ after they waived like 75$ for my inconvenience. I was just happy to get out of there. The only positive experience I had when I got my cellphone a bit earlier, a great guy who knew his stuff.
This store benefits big time from it's location. If you know exactly what you want and get a decent price - fine. But don't rely on expertise from the staff.
Cheers

I thought the downtown location would offer more, bigger, better electronics...but I was sadly mistaken. We spent 10 minutes trying to determine whether they were out of the Wii systems they offered in their flyer, finally got our answer when we triumphantly gained someone's attention. They're out? Ok, too bad, so next question...any computer cameras so I can skype with my mum? Dunno, you'll have to ask in the computer section. Ten more minutes and we were still outta luck - and outta patience. We made our way out and back to the Broadway location where we should have gone in the first place.

Review from Jes A.
My mind is blown by the level of incompetence and willingness to waste my time.
I went in to check out a blackberry on my current provider. I had done my research and was pretty sure I'd figured out the best deal for me. I mostly wanted to check out the phones and think about it before I made up my mind.
Cel-phone salesperson "A" tells me about a way to bundle a plan and add-ons that'll give me everything I wanted- for $5 less than what I'm paying a month.
I let them talk me into going ahead with it, only to find out on the train back home- they had no idea what they were talking about. The do-whatever-I-want-with data plan? Only covers social networking. Useless to me.
The story gets even longer and I'm sick of it already...
The punchline- they return the phone no problem (apologizing about messing up with the plans), they can't get my phone # re-assigned to my original phone. This happened Sat. eve, I may not be able to get it back on my carrier till Monday.
(This took about 1.5 hours in the store, not counting the leaving and coming back.)
A manager gave me a $10 gift card and that made me feel a little better... that was before I found out they couldn't re-activate my phone. -

I said this once before in a review for a different Future Shop, but this place is definitely a necessary evil. Yes, they carry pretty much every electronic device imaginable. Yes, their prices are very low. Yes, they have a decent warranty plan. But really, the service here is terrible! It took me forever to make a simple return due primarily to their ignorant sales' staff. I was erroneously directed to the main cashier area by the greeter even though I specially asked if it would be possible to make a return there. So after waiting in line for five minutes, I was abruptly told that they would not be able to perform the return there and that I would have to go to the customer service section. Yes, that was obviously an honest mistake on greeter's part so I don't really begrudge her. More than anyone, it was the staff at the customer service section. Working there, you are obviously on the receiving end of many complaints, returns and general whinging. Despite that, though, you shouldn't take three minutes to acknowledge the people waiting in line simply because you need to finish some inane anecdote about yesterday's evening.
Okay, I think I've let off enough steam. Yes, while this may seem like a petty rant, this kind of thing seems to happen continuously at this particular branch. Really, the staff at this particular Future Shop really needs to go through another training session. Come here only if you have infinite patience and a lot of time. -
