Easily the worst location I've been to. Go elsewhere. It'll save you time and frustration.

Let's start with the atrocious parking lot. This lot ties with Costco Richmond as the closest you'll get to a parking death trap. Super cramped and limited spaces combined with bad drivers = unmitigated disaster. I had to park by Save-On.

Both outside and inside are outdated. Like 90's outdated.

All we were after was a screen protector for a tablet and to get it installed (Zagg protectors have lifetime product and labour warranty if installed by the store). Simple right? Far from it in this store.

So I ask a rep how much for install. He looks at me as if I was asking him a physics question. He says they don't install. Hmm, I just got mine installed on my phone at the Bridgeport location last week. I question him again, he says asks his manager, $29.99 to install and there 'aint no lifetime warranty through the store. Wtf? The protector only costs $29.99. At this point I'm done with this guy, along with his broken English skills. So I go to another rep and say why is the install ridiculously expensive when I only paid $5 to get my phone one installed. His response? "Go somewhere else then".

    Ridiculous.

This store is like a ghetto version of a typical Futureshop.

It's cramped, confusing and just feels kinda yuck inside.

The staff are not always efficient, I have been given the wrong items causing confusing conversations with the cashiers holding up the frustrated line of people behind me. I have been treated rudely when returning items because I didn't like them or doing a warranty exchange. When an item increases in price and you have to exchange it due to a defect you have to pay the difference, how is it my fault you sold be defective items...why do I have to pay more because they changed the price? When bee lining for the headphone aisle and sales agent tried to grab me and drag me into the camera section to try and sell me a camera, uhhh, no.

Overall I just don't like this store!

Hey you! Yeah you! Want to walk around a disorganized, overpriced, dirty store with a bunch of anti-social sales clerks that act as if you're about to steal something? Who when you can get a hold of them will try and sell you things you don't want and don't want or need(as long as they can find it)? Want to pay too much for your electronics through a slow and grueling process because even the cashiers don't know what they're doing? Well, then settle for the convenience of not walking across the street to Best Buy by walking right into Future Shop's station square location. I promise you wont be disappointed.

I received the worst customer service in my life at this future shop location. I purchased their Product Service Plan. My laptop had 3 major repairs and when I brought it in the 4th time they wanted to send it to their repair centre in Ontario to make sure it wasn't something that I had done deliberately in order to get a new laptop. I asked to speak to their manager who is an evil little dork on a power trip and even more rude than the tech shop "customer service" representatives.

I decided to take my laptop to the DT futureshop location and they replaced  it with no questions asked. No wonder they are rated the best futureshop store in the district.

NEVER GO TO THE FUTURESHOP AT METROTOWN.

Before the availability of other places, such as Best Buy, this Future Shop was the only place I could go for consumer electronics. Being a person absolutely consumed by electronics and technology, this was one of my favourite locations, until I realized that whenever I ran into a sales associate, my day would be ruined.

Let's start with the service: Future Shop is still on the commission system. While this means that you're never without people that are all too glad to help you, it puts you on too much pressure to commit and purchase. The sales associates aren't above lying to get you to purchase, and if that wasn't enough, they even pretend to know about things they don't know about, just so that they can get the commission pay. This alone is unacceptable.

The Customer Service Representatives need to take a few courses in morals and ethics before being allowed back on duty. I went up to one for an iPod related problem one time, and I knew she was named Veronica, it was on her screen. Her name tag read "Mark." I tried to make small talk, asking her (rather jokingly) whether her name was mark. She said that it is and was quite offended at the fact that I made small talk rather than getting on with the issue. Nice representation.

And that's just inside the shop. Parking is impossible to find, and usually you're forced to park across the street or in the Save-on-foods parking lot.

With next to no selection, horrible prices, pressure on you to buy, unfriendly to nonexistent service, and lying staff, this is turning into quite a place to shop. Do your best to avoid this Future Shop. I know I will.

If you can stay away, or go to any other electronics store, be warned as this is one place that I would try to dodge. If you know the parking situation of Station Square, it is kind of the same thing in here, pure chaos, and people not knowing what they are doing, or where they are going. You are probably going to say that I am being harsh with this review, and that it was only once, and I would have to disagree, as this is one thing that this store is consistent in doing, is offering bad to no service.

Sometimes we go into stores, and we are hounded upon, well this place is not one of them, until you start to find a salesperson, and once you start looking at items, and talking to them, then the pressure to buy is on like an oven at times. I love how they throw the extra warranty at you to bring down the price, I understand that this is where they make their bread and butter, but it can get a little too much.

When you are looking for somebody to help in a certain department, you may be going on an expedition at times. But nothing can compare you for this stores two greatest line-ups, the customer service department and the checkout! I've never seen such a consistent line of people returning products than this one, I guess that is what happens when you get pushed to buy things, and you start to think about it when you get home. Then the checkout line up, with three cash registers, but most times only two or one are just operating.

    It's ageing poorly . . .

With Best Buy so close, and the new Future Shop a few skytrain stops away at Granville Station, this location is not ageing gracefully. Cramped, tough to find things, poorly laid out. And like all Future Shops, they don't care to help you pick the right product, they really want to sell the extended warranty, and won't help you if you tell them you are not interested in it. Future Shop and Best Buy? Only if desperate.

I asked if the customer rep could check a trade-in value for a game. He said no, he can't over the phone. It's too involved.
I said "Isn't it just a matter of checking the computer?" and he said "Yes...but I have to open an application. I'm uh, kind of busy".
    Thanks for nothing.

This Future Shop is particularly horrendous with it's terrible parking situation and general disorganization.

Couple this with the annoying and super sharky sales staff and you can imagine how your tolerance for shopping here quickly drops.

Unfortunately it's one of the few places in the area to go to for your electronics, unless they're they more general selection found at Staples.

Don't even think about coming here when Christmas shopping season is in full swing, you'll kill yourself within a minute of shopping here.

If you're a public transit user, then it's only a few strides from the Skytrain / Buses and is relatively bearable.

However with the Best Buy close enough and with far less pressure from sales staff and a better maintained store, I'd recommend you avoid this place.

Worse prices and selection than the close by Best Buy.  Sometimes it's hard to find someone for assistance in different departments, until it's time to checkout and all of a sudden there are 3 different employees looking to check you out for the commission.
I go here because of the location.

The sales representative at this location is extremely pushy and makes you buy all these add ons that are unnecessary for their clients. Although their flyers prices are lower than competitors, the add ons they put will far exceed the purchase price from others places like London Drugs, Best Buy etc. When they forgot to install something on the computer I bought, they told me to install it myself but I paid for the installation, that is some of the worst customer service I have every experienced. They are also very slow with service, don't expect anything to be fixed within a few days. One thing I am glad is that they at least honour the warranty and not avoid the responsibility, but don't expect quick service

got some pretty bad service here the last time.. but it was OK cuz i was happy i was getting my new BB torch that day

i had a trainee helping me (i didn't find out til about an hour in).. took him forever to activate my new phone mainly cuz i don't think he knew what he was doing.. he finally got another guy working in the same department to help him a bit but that guy shuda been there the whole time

i kinda felt bad for the kid that was helping me and luckily i wasn't in a rush otherwise i woulda been pissed.. it all worked out in the end tho!

other times i've been here, sometimes they have more clerks than customers and they swarm you cuz most of them work off of commission.. i prefer best buy (even tho its same company) cuz clerks are less pushy

If you want great customer service, I would avoid this Future Shop. Refunds or returns take a long time to process - 10 to 15 minutes on average from what I've experienced even with receipts, boxes, and products that were never used.  On a positive note, salespeople at this Future Shop aren't as pushy as before. You can walk and look at stuff without being hassled by the salespeople. Prices at this Future Shop are only good during box day sales.
