"Heaven, I'm in heaven, and my heart beats, so that I can hardly speak. And I seem to find the happiness I seek, when I'm out on Whyte Ave eating these oh so delicious treats".

Apologies to Frank Sinatra, but Fuss cupcakes really are worth, well... the fuss! As a bit of a cupcake junkie, I never turn down one, but am so often disappointed - the cake is too rubbery, the frosting (or even worse, icing) is too sweet, the ratio of cake to topping doesn't balance out - a perfect cupcake is a rarely found delicacy!

That's why Fuss is just so wonderful. The cupcakes are perfectly moist and have a delicate texture, while true buttercream frosting tops off the cake in just the perfect amount to have your taste buds sing and dance in a way that doesn't warn you of impeding diabetes.

These cupcakes are best if you can get them when they're still warm from the oven, but are wonderful even at the last hours of the night right before the shop closes. Oddly enough, the fruit cupcakes are almost sweeter than the chocolate base chocolate topped variety: Fuss knows how to keep the sugar level under control so that you can really experience the flavour of both the cake, the icing, and whatever special little goody might be tucked on top or inside.

I'm still working my way through the list, but so far West Side Story (caramel and chocolate on vanilla or chocolate) and the Diva (strawberry and vanilla, toped with strawberry chocolate), Ras and the City (raspberry on vanilla) and the Scarlett O'Hara (red velvet cupcake topped with cream cheese frosting) have all been delicious.

I'm looking forward to trying out more flavours the next time I go - either to eat with friends there or to take home as a decadent late night treat!

I've tried a few of the cupcake places in and around the Whyte avenue area lately, and I haven't been impressed. Fuss was no different.

I will preface this review with the knowledge that I love to bake, and I've made my fair share of cupcakes. I've made from cake mixes to simple recipes from Company's Coming cook books to the crazy inventions of Martha Stewart and some very very delicious recipes by Rose Levy Beranbaum. But by no means am I a professional baker.

I guess that's where my disappointment stems from. Even though I just bake for fun, everything I've made has tasted better than what I'm getting at places like Fuss, not to mention has been for the most part MUCH cheaper. Many people comment that Fuss' cupcakes are "moist," but the word I would prefer to use is "greasy." It just tastes like they used vegetable oil to give the cupcakes moisture, so they might last longer on the shelf or something. I've only had one cupcake from Fuss, but it lacked any real flavor. The icing was smooth and light, much smoother than I can make at home, but it too had little flavor. It tasted mostly like shortening, which isn't exactly the epitome of delicious.

Even though the customer service is standard and the location is convenient, I still would not pay the money for their product. There are many places on Whyte avenue where you can snag a tasty treat, so just walk a block or two up or down and get something better somewhere else.

I find the whole cupcake revolution on Whyte a little boring and wish that someone would wake me up when there's a winner!  I'm certainly not a cupcake expert, so take my review with that knowledge.

Fuss is a decent cupcake joint, centrally located and convenient for a stop over while shopping.  They serve coffee based drinks too, along with cupcakes, which is great for people who enjoy to have a cupcake with their coffee (I hope somebody detected the sarcasm).  They have a huge list of cupcakes and I think I've tried a couple of them and found them to be tasty, not too sweet and well made.

I guess one thing about Fuss is that the store is very unappealing.  I don't know if it's the lighting or it's the narrow shape or the way it looks from outside or that it's on the southern sidewalk of Whyte ave, but it doesn't attract me.

Just wanted to update that after trying several more different shops in Edmonton, I think Fuss is hands down the best option in Edmonon! The icing is the special/best part. It's soo much more better than the others. Once you try it, you will know what I am talking about.

Cupcakes are currently ubiquitous, and Fuss was one of the first to colonize Whyte Ave. They offer a tempting array of baked and iced treats. I've tried nearly all of their flavours; favourites includes 'west side story' and 'purple haze.' The icing is very rich and the underlying cakes are moist, but I am hesitant to give them more than a three star rating, since I know that superior cakes (especially Sweet Krumblz) are out there. Still, I'll never turn down a Fuss cupcake.

WHYTE AVENUE TEMPTATION AT IT'S SWEETEST.

I was first introduced to Fuss Cupcakes when I benefited from my roommate's girlfriend.. You dirty birds! She had a box of Fuss Mini's delivered for his birthday!

It was a 15-pack I believe, with all mini-cupcakes a different varietal. They went down smoother than a cold beer on a summer's day. Scrumptious, moist, fresh cake batter decked with decadent icing creations worthy of a gold star in edible art class. My fave's:

    -West Side Story
    -Black Velvet
    -Carat Cake

If you're hankering for a rewarding cupcake experience (and hey, who isn't?), then pop in to Fuss, make let your eyes dilate and your taste-buds plumpen and savour some first-class flavour country. Tell em' KD sent you! They won't know me, but I'll feel cool. *wink*

I think I have died and gone to cupcake Heaven.  I had my first Fuss cupcake and I finally understand what the fuss is all about.  IT WAS AMAZING!!!

I had a Chocolate Addiction cupcake and my boyfriend had  a Bliss cupcake.  Both were super chocolatey but not too sweet.  It's weird, I know.  I don't know how they do it but they do.  The Bliss cupcake was almost the same as mine except it had a coating f chocolate sauce over the chocolate icing that sits atop the chocolate cupcake.  Ladies, it's a dream come true.

The girl working was not impressed when we walked in at ten to six, Sunday evening (they close at 6pm on Sundays).  She made it known that she was not happy to serve us.  When we asked for our cupcakes to go though, she seemed to get a bit happier.

The shop is pretty cute.  It's small but it's all the space you would need o make cupcakes!  It's got a trendy sort of feel to it.  The décor is nice.  It's nothing special though.  I did, however, like the art they have hung on the walls.  It's beautiful.

I was not impressed with the service but the cupcakes were phenomenal!

The Whyte Avenue location of the family-owned Fuss Cupcakes carries the same extensive variety of the little treats as the original West End location (and are produced in the same nut-free facility). The layout and atmosphere is less cozy, but has a of seating at tables. The quality and freshness of the cupcakes was still there even though I was there in the evening. I also appreciated the fact there was wifi. A great place to stop in for a quick treat while on Whyte.

Fuss cupcakes has delicious fresh cupcakes. It's a good place to stop in for a quick dessert or to spoil your sweet tooth. They have wireless internet for anyone that wants to come in and stay a while. It is really great for getting some work done. It has good seating so you can hang out if you like. They have huge variety and the people are really friendly. No one really walks Whyte Ave during the winter but if you are shopping in the summer Fuss is a great place to stop in for a delicious snack.
