I am someone who NEVER reviews anything, but I had to for this shop. Funhouse is so great. I called yesterday and managed to get a same day tattoo with someone named Ryan Tsutsumi. When I called, I spoke to two people working at the store (one was Sasha, the other I didn't get a name) and both were very helpful and super nice on the phone.
I got a small infinity symbol (very fine lined) and another fine lined letter "T" with a simple heart around it. I was nervous about finding an artist that could do a good tattoo that looked perfect, as both needed very skilled hands to pulled off a thin line that had no flaws.
Ryan was flawless, and took his time on both, and even though they were small tattoos, he really put a lot of effort into making sure they looked great. The infinity symbol was more challenging to pull off well, and he did that beyond my expectations. He was super nice and made you feel comfortable as well. I definitely recommend him for anyone looking for a clean, crisp tattoo.
The shop itself is very cool, and has an awesome vintage/retro parlour look. -

I cannot rave enough about how amazing Sasha is. I couldn't believe it when she took my seemingly vague words, description of the type of tattoo I wanted, and turned it into a beautiful picture! It was better than I could have even imagined it! And it represented everything I had wanted and thought of for a tattoo for the last 7 years, when I first though about getting a tattoo.
I left a $40 deposit for Sasha to draw up the design and when I was there, I was really impressed with the artwork. We tweaked a few minor things on the design, and then we were good to go. She made sure I was absolutely happy with everything in the design before we even started to ink because it was going to be a permanent fixture and she wanted me to be sure. She never once gave me the impression she was annoyed with me changing things around or having my BFF take pictures of me getting my first tattoo (I asked first of course). The tattoo itself didn't hurt a whole lot, but I imagine that has to do with the location on your body that it's on. Afterwards, she went over the care instruction and sent me on my way.
Yes it's cash only. The design took 1.75 hours and cost $140 including the deposit.
Thank you Yelpers for not leading me astray in this super important matter!Listed in: Taking Care of Myself

After a few months of deciding where to get a tattoo, I decided to come to Funhouse based on the yelp reviews. I'm definitely glad I did because it lived up to all the great reviews I've read.
My friend and I went last week to get our first tattoos done together. I can't speak for her, but I am extremely happy with the overall result.
We went in on a Saturday and talked about what we wanted to get, how much it would cost, etc. We wanted to get it done at the same time and was able to get an appointment for the following Saturday.
We had to put a down deposit in cash of $60. They charge $160/hr with a minimum charge of $80.
My tattoo artist was Fester. I showed him a picture and he started to draw. First of all, he is an amazing artist. He actually made the tattoo more detailed and beautiful than the picture I showed him. He doesn't speak much, which was fine with me. If you have any questions, you can still ask him.
My friend's tattoo artist was Sasha. She was a lot more talkative and actually invited me over to watch my friend get inked while I was waiting for my stencil to set in.
Both artists are really great. I want to get another tattoo of my own design next, and I think I will go back to Fester.
GO TO FUNHOUSE! You won't be disappointed :) -

My sister and I had bird tattoos done by someone named Fester at this place and he did an amazing job! these were pretty small and the amount of detail he was able to get was unreal. I have other tattoos but I would never go back to any one else after seeing the quality of work and the concentration that he had. JUST AMAZING!

So it looks like I'm not the only one voicing a love-in for Sasha.
I decided randomly to get a new tattoo, nothing big, nothing too facny just some teddy bears on my arm. I stopped by one day and asked Sasha to draw something up. I made an appointment and came back a couple weeks later. She sat down and drew something up. I hadn't provided anything because most of what was online was what I didn't want. I had just said three walking teddy bears.
She drew up EXACTLY what I wanted. I had put $20 down and after about 45 minutes I was tattooed. She hardly charged me anything for it. I couldn't believe it.
I have a number of friends who have tattoos by Sasha, Juan and Ryan. I highly recommend Funhouse! -

Thanks to Yelp, I have a new tattoo! There are so many places to choose from, but with all these positive reviews here, you can't go wrong!
I walked in around 2pm, and was able to get an appointment for the next hour :) Not only were the lines totally smooth and clear, but they also touched up an old tattoo of mine that was a little patchy. (In case you're wondering, I have a line of dinosaurs walking down my left arm - today's addition was a little velociraptor!).
Nice and clean, average price (but worth it), and I'll no doubt be back here for my next dinosaur :D -

I went here based on previous reviews, so thank you yelp users.
I had an appointment with Sasha. She was great - willing to participate in my decision making, let me take time for placement, made me feel comfortable enough to say 'just a bit more on that line', etc.
As one should, I love my new tattoos. They are text, and Sasha did them beautifully. -

I came here on a recommendation of a friend a few weeks ago and flipped through a few of the artist's work in the binder. They waved Fester over because he was available. I think it was fate.
I asked him to do a "Fu dog" and told him a little bit about the history of them and showed him some pictures on his laptop. He's not a man of many words but he seemed to "just know" what I wanted. He booked me for a few weeks later and I put down my $50 (cash only)
When I called him yesterday morning (11/11/11), he said he had the sketch all done and got me in an hour earlier and he definitely need all the time. Since this was my first ink, I didn't know what to expect. The sketch looked perfect and the outline looked huge! We didn't discuss how much and how big it would be but I just trusted him!
During the process it was amazing to see how a few lines slowly turned into a sick piece of art! I took pics of each stage and I couldn't believe my eyes how it developed. Fester didn't talk much during the process because he seemed liked he was "in the zone" and putting 100% into his work. I appreciate that!
Fast forward 5 hours later and it was done by closing time! Since I didn't expect Fester's work to be so extensive for a first visit and didn't bring enough cash, I had to run up to the Chevron to get to an ATM. My friends said what I paid was definitely worth the work that was done.
The only thing they can improve on is a more comfortable chair and turning up the heat a bit. Otherwise, I'll be seeing Fester again for the next piece! -

At the moment I can only talk about my consultation. I called them and explained what I was looking for (realistic flowers with an traditional banner and some script) and if they could suggest an artist. They also got me a consultation the same day. Sasha is awesome. I have this neat idea and she has completely blown my mind so far. I cannot wait to get tattooed by her. I will definately update when the work gets done.

The time had finally come for my first tattoo, I decided to check out Funhouse since it is close to my house and they had great reviews.
I settled on the idea of a shooting star which is pretty basic but since I wanted something original I had Sasha draw the design up for me. There was a $40 deposit which was applied to the cost of the tattoo (fair enough, since they are gonna invest their time into drawing it up) and the drawing was ready in just a few days. Since it was basic and I was a bit vague in my request she drew up 2 designs for me to choose from!
When I went in to get it today she had redrawn it with a bit of an arc as I requested but we had a misunderstanding and the design was upside down, she kindly redrew in again (twice to get it right!) before stenciling...it also took about 4-5 tries to get the angling right since it`s gonna be there forever it needed to be just right! She was very patient with all this and it took about an extra 20 minutes so I left her a pretty hefty tip for such a small piece.
She started off really slow knowing it was my first which I really appreciated rather than her diving right into my side with sharp objects! Sasha spent most of the time talking to my friend Tabatha Y about schizophrenic rap artists which really made it difficult not to laugh but I managed somehow. I am super happy with the end result and I am sure it won`t be long before I am planning my second!
One thing I did really like about this shop is that the walls are covered in original designs that the artists has drawn up not the typical flash. I don`t understand why anyone would pick a design off of a flash card, so it is cool that they kind of remove that as an option by promoting original peices!
Prices: $160 per hour and the minimum charge was $45Listed in: All Stars!, Modify Me

Came here to get my first ever tattoo just over a month ago and I definitely will be going back here.
Initially I had planned on getting my tattoo a few weeks earlier while in Vegas, I mean come on, it's Vegas baby! But logic got the better of me and I decided to hold off until I got back to Vancouver :(.
Anyways this place was great! Sasha was really patient about everything and my tattoo has turned out perfect. Hurt like hell! But definitely worth it. The price was great too!
Definitely recommend Funhouse! -

I was looking to get a sizeable Victorian-style Alice in Wonderland piece done on my back a couple years ago, and a heavily tattooed friend of mine advised me to check out Art Godoy, the shop owner at Funhouse Tattoo. Good thing I did - Art did an amazing job. My piece involved a LOT of fine line work, and he had the patience and masterful skill to pull it off beautifully. It's been a few years since the tattoo was completed, and I still get compliments on it all the time.
The shop is clean and the people there are down to earth. I saw some of the pieces that the other artists were working on, and they all looked great. The shop's been around for ages, so it's definitely a place to check out if you're looking to have some good work done. It's definitely not one of those sketchy fly-by-night tattoo shops that seem to pop up and disappear so fast in this city.Listed in: From Blah to Beautiful

I had Sasha draw me up a sleeve of some flowers a while back. I had previously had one flower done by someone else, but wanted to add more to it, so I had a sit down with her. She asked for a deposit, which I think was about $50, which was non-refundable and would be taken into account when I had the work done. Within a week, she had drawn up some flowers and I came by the shop to check them out.
I totally understand the reason for taking a payment and making it non-refundable, the artist shouldn't have to draw a piece out for you if you're not serious about the work. I was serious. So serious in fact that the night before the tattoo appointment I had a party at my house, and suddenly it was 5am and I was the last man standing with a full cup of straight vodka. I drank so much that night that I puked the next morning... on my way to the tattoo appointment, on my lawn, outside my house.... If you think getting a tattoo hurts, wait till you do it when you're hungover and throwing up. She was even nervous about tattooing me in my green state, but I soldiered through and I held my breath until the outline was done and I could go back home to bed. Hey, I didn't want to lose my deposit right? That's right, I live the rock n roll dream.
All of the artists at Funhouse are really talented and some of my friends have had work done by Sasha and Juan, and all of their pieces look amazing. I would highly recommend them both.Listed in: Best of the best

Mark at Funhouse just completed a custom design that I'm calling Unda Vita. Unda is latin for "wave" and Vita is latin for "life". I approached Mark with my concept of capturing the energetic vitality of ocean waves. It's like his pencil was channelling the energies of the oceans to his sketchpad. Constantly gauging my reaction to his renderings, we got to the "That's it!" point.
Mark is masterful... AMAZING! Within two hours of finalizing the sketch, Mark created a stencil and had inked my upper arm with what I could only imagine!
I highly recommend Mark at Funhouse! He's a top notch artist! -

They are amazing at Funhouse!! I have had my last few tattoos done by Art and I'll never leave! He's super cool, and an amazing artist. My last tattoo was a big one and I had a few ideas that luckily he talked me out of (LOL) and I left with the most amazing tattoo ever! I've sent my friends there and they have all seen different artists there and have been super happy too! Can't wait for my next tattoo!!

Today I gave my kid an 18th birthday present that would last his whole life - a tattoo! Neither the hubby or I have any tattoos so this was kind of a big deal for me. I have a lot of beautifully tattooed friends who all said Funhouse was the place to go.
Ben already had a design so didn't need artwork created. We had to go in to book the appointment and put down a $20 deposit. Cash only here so be prepared. Otherwise the gas station up the road has a bank machine.
His appointment was today and we got there on time. Unfortunately a piece of Sasha's equipment broke just before we got there. Luckily I'd taken the whole day off so we weren't rushed but I still had to maintain my cool as the minutes ticked by while we waited. Sensibly I decided that complaining noisily about the, eventually almost one hour, wait wasn't a wise decision before my son was permanently inked. Sasha was very apologetic about the wait though and once she did get started I really appreciated how gentle she was talking to Ben and prepping him for what he was about to experience.
The actual tattooing only took about 10 minutes and she commented that he'd picked a really good first tattoo. I can't imagine what it would be like to endure hours of this your first time. When done, she carefully explained the healing process and maintenance.
They charge $160/hour but there's an $80 minimum.
Sasha made Ben's tattoo exactly what he wanted and even though it only took 10 minutes it was worth the price to get it done right - meaning in a relaxed environment where you can tell they're experienced! This is likely just his first so Funhouse will get our repeat business. No technical issues will win the 5th star. -

I've been getting all of my ink done at Funhouse for years now. The artists are incredibly talented and the shop is meticulous and well-run. If you want quality work done right every time then check this crew out.
