Came here to pick up some Japanese food.

Parking is plentiful in the lot outside.

The store is really cozy, with the dry foods mixed with the refrigerated goods.  There is also a sushi section for those looking for take-out.  Near the front counter is also a "fresh food" section, though I wasn't sure how fresh the food really was.  There is also some bar-style seating if you want to eat your food here.

Not sure if it's worth making a trip out, but if you're working in this area, I'd imagine it to be decent for lunch.

If your a marinade buff like me, then you will love this place!

I love coming here for all of my marinades! whether if its chicken, pork, beef, fish, veggies, Dog, Cat, Human being.. ;) u need to enhance their natural flavors! why you ask? i'll tell you! Fujiya has a lot of sauces that most local Asian markets don't. Ponzu, Shoryu, Sweet soy, Premium soy, Teriaki, Stir fry, Seseme Oil, Maggie, Rice wine vin.. etc i come here for all of that!! They also have a wide selection of sushi platters ready to go which i love! mmm AND a butt load of Pocky! my second favorite!

Check this place out if you havn't already!

p.s. Just kidding about the Dog, Cat, human comment.. they taste great without Marination ;) ...

This small branch of Fujiya seems to contain almost all the same stock as the larger Vancouver store, so if you are on that side of the river, then it makes perfect sense to stop in here.

We got a few staples (ponzu sauce, and pocky) and some yummy nibbles (sweets, treats, and pocky).  Did you notice how pocky is both a staple and a treat!?!?!

They have a good selection and an interesting variety of flavoured kit kats.  Frozen goods, produce in a cooler, their meat and seafood in a clean and nicely stocked display case.  Noodles, sauces, and a lovely variety of miso and tofu.

Like Tring said, the store itself is small and non-wow. I think most people come here for the sushi/bento take-out, though. There's a cooler dedicated to bento, donburi, and sushi. I like the Saba (mackerel) bento. The price is very reasonable ($6ish) for a bento that has so many different things in it.

A few companies in Vancouver area make Bento to deliver to Japanese stores for them to sell. I think Fujiya's is the best of them. A competitor's tasted like they put artificial seasoning into the onigiri.

The store itself is smaller than your average 7-Eleven. Think of it as a complement to your Canadian grocery store, not a one-stop shopping spot. They have almost 2 shelves' variety of misos, local tofu, and Yamasa soy sauce (I prefer that brand over Kikkoman). Also some Japanese cuts of meat and fish (frozen), some green teas, condiments, Japanese vegetables.

Unfortunately, the store gets lots of sun, and I don't feel like buying the noodles and rice crackers that have been sitting in the aisles by the windows.

I come here now and then. it's a bit out of the way for me, but when I can't find what I want at the other places, this is the fallback plan I have for stuff Japanese.  The staff are very freindly here and there is always your Japanese staples to get if you need.

Fujiya has been a place we have gone to for years.  I can think as far back as 20 years ago at least.  Not this location, but they've been around for years!

If you want sushi rice, rice crackers, nori, bonito flakes, pickels all from Japan, they have them here.

And the service is typically Japanese.  It's a good thing. :)

I like to pop into Fujiya to grab their California Rolls for $2.99 when I need lunch to bring with me to the airport. Their other bento boxes are very reasonably priced as well. I've been told by their store staff that the bentos are delivered at 10:00am, but I've waited around until 10:45 more than once and had to leave bento-less :( If you show up later in the day the selection can be dismal.

While most of their products can be found at T&T and other Asian supermarkets, it's convenient that they have everything in one little store. Their prices are reasonable, and they give good discounts on products that are nearing their expiry date.

They carry a type of hard ginger candies that I adore and can't find anywhere else in Canada - every time they have them in the store I stock up and grab 4 bags!

I was looking for a source for matcha and was told by several folks to try out Fujiya in Richmond. Imagine my surprise when I came upon the store. It's small (the size of a corner store or convenience store). I went in and found they have three brands of matcha. One of them is culinary grade (which means good for cooking and baked goods, but not recommended for just drinking), and two of them are Ujinotsuyu brand. Ujinotsuyu  Matcha Hagoromo is the lower grade quality and the other one whose name I forgot but costs approx $8 per tin. $8 per tin for matcha is not expensive at all because really good quality ones cost anywhere from $17 and beyond $50 a tin! I bought the highest quality version and it was still not that good.

I can't comment on the rest of the store because I didn't look at it that carefully but it did seem to have a small variety of Japanese goods. It has a poor vegetable section, all situated in one enclosed glass-door fridge.
