While visiting Vancouver from Seattle, I went into almost ALL the consignment/vintage inspired stores in the area. This store, by far, was THE BEST!

I'll start with the good: Funky accessories in every flavor, color and style you can imagine! I picked up a cute pair of fan-like studs that were a bold gold and black pattern. Also, their accessories are all over the store, so around every rack there is a gem to awe at!

It gets better: the consignment section was awesome. Vintage clothing at actually decent prices! Many of the shops around this one are waaaaayyy over priced for their items. Front & Co. is reasonable, and I picked up a retro 60's dress for just $26! At one of the other stores, it would've been $50 easily!

The best part: THE SHOES! Oh my, there were many many consignment shoes, again at great prices. Good brands, and quality, a variety of sizes, colors and styles to choose from. I picked up a pair of black and white oxfords for a measly $24.

To top it off: The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming! The cashier even offered suggestions for continued shopping based on what I purchased.

    Overall grade: A+

Can't believe I've never reviewed Front. The last time I went there I found three beautiful blouses and a skirt for a total of $100. The time before I came across a basket of seriously awesome bangles, each at only $5. Always check out the designer consignment rack. You never know what treasures are hanging around just waiting to be oohed and aahed over at your next social event. I also recently noticed a line of adorable dresses made out of vintage fabric.

There's so much variety here and there's good stuff for guys so it's perfect for an afternoon of wandering with your fella. If you're into that kind of thing...

As some other Yelpers stated the window displays REALLY drag you in there as they are always so well done. Unfortunately when I get inside the sundries are the only thing I ever buy!

That being said if you want knick-knacks, costume jewellery, pretty baubles for your hair or a pair of well priced used shoes this is the place for you! The clothing I find a little too Main street for my liking

Besides the staff being pretentious, the lay out is terrible. The stock is not priced based on condition or quality. You'd be better off shopping at Value Village.

    Good products, check.
They have a wide selection of unique items ideal for buying as gifts/presents during special occasions. FINALLY, GIFTS FOR MEN! (Most shops on main are boutique shops with women accessories, so finding gifts for guys can be difficult ) I went there to buy a gift and items were a little pricey. Its understandable since there's not a lot of shops like these in Vancouver (except maybe Granville Island Toy Company). I would rather pay a little more than buying online, which could take much longer.

    Good customer service, maybe.
The store is sort of cut into two halves, with a little hallway that connects the two. The staff on one side keeps chatting with another staff at the other side. I was standing at the check-out table for 2 minutes. Then I had to walk to the other side of the store to make my purchase.

Like seriously? Be professional, it helps retain customers.

    Dear Front & Company,
I consider you the pretty girl with the bad attitude... you know, the gorgeous girl that seems to get uglier the more you get to know her. Allow me to explain:

This is a great place to find the odd treasure (all the clothing is high-end or brand-name). What makes it even better is that there's also a wicked mens section that doesn't just consist of light brown, 70's-style leather jackets, tattered jeans and rejected Ralph Lauren Polo shirts. Nope, the boys are sure to find something fairly cool. The window displays are also amazing and really well thought out (whomever is responsible for this, I salute you!!)
    So what's my problem?
    Here's the deal.
~The prices are definitely hefty considering it's used clothing.
~Sometimes, the condition of some of their items can be a bit questionable.
    And here's the kicker...
~SERVICE...IS...HORRIBLE!!! I compare it to a shopping experience at Holt Renfrew; snooty people who, most of the time, ignore you.
I've even tried to break the ice with some of the employees. I'll try to banter with them, but let me tell ya, they'll have none of it.

So there you have it folks. Front & Company is very pretty to look at, but inside? Not so nice.

I love this store, I really do.

The consignment clothing is full of hidden surprises: lots of brand name items without the hefty price tag. The new clothing is often sample sizes, but you might get lucky and find something in your size.

I love the jewelry and knick-knacks, and the gag gifts are always fun to look at. If you're looking for a gift to buy someone who is almost impossible to shop for, it's likely that you will find the perfect gift at Front.

The gift store beside the clothing store is the best part of Front: there's so many items to look at, you could spend all day there and still not go through everything. There's stuff for the home, the baby, the techie, the girly girl, or a significant other.

To top it all off, all of the staff are super friendly and willing to help you find the perfect gift. They also have amazing window displays : ). I always look forward to shopping at Front.

Easily the best selection of locally made jewelry and accessories in Vancouver (almost all of it for $16-$40!) I've been lost in their knick-knacks section (haven't even gotten to the clothes yet) for over an hour before. Although it's only comprised of a few display tables - there is SO much to see. Whomever works on the display of the tables (and the window!) has my full respect and admiration for their attention to detail and balance.

The lightly used clothing section is no doubt a wonderful selection of items, but occasionally I have found pieces marked up above or close to their new sell price.

Gastown shops are purdy but expensive. It's both good and bad that I found Front & Company's shopping district thanks to Sarah D.

Front & Company carries some pricey items but overall is like Anthropologie at the third of the price. I scored a sea green cardigan with curling khaki accent fabric by Lovely Girl for much less than what a Moth sweater would cost. And a red vintage leather purse. And some really cute hair ties that bend as I wish per the malleable wire inside.

I am intrigued by the lay-out: on one side new wares tempt me with their fresh, unbroken-in fabric, while the other side of the store contains used jackets and tops that drip with history.

In fact, a mannequin sported a Moth cardigan; I pity the lady who bought it at full price.

I'm not ready to embrace my yuppie side yet so I've been making more treks out to Main Street recently.  I stopped in Front and Company with a friend and we spent a good long while flipping through the racks before restraining ourselves and leaving with just a few accessories (which weeks later, I still love!)

about 2/3 of the store looked like it was consignment/vintage pieces, and the other 1/3 was new items.  There were many tables full of great little hairbands, earrings, bracelets, and other accessories...if you have a weakness for little shiny things like me then you may need to try not to buy the whole spread.

I'd been waiting MONTHS to finally check out Front & Company. I don't know why I'm so lazy, but I am.

Normally when browsing consignment stores I find that I'm often disappointed by the lack of items in my size (I'm a curvy 14) and usually leave with only accessories or shoes. This was not the case at F&C. I found tons of great items in my size!

When browsing the designer racks I noticed a lot of Betsey, DVF, Marc Jacobs and such, all for prices that almost made me weep tears of joy.

Aside from that, the shoe area is enormous and slightly overwhelming. I saw so many cute (new) necklaces and other jewelry for sale. As well as tons of scarves and bags and such.

The store was so clean and organized and quiet. Perfect for browsing. There is nothing I hate more than trying to navigate my way through H&M on a summer afternoon.... it's absolutely chaotic. F&C is exactly the opposite and I intend to come back and make all my money disappear soon.

Man oh man is this place lovely. This is the place that chain stores like Urban Outfitters aspire to be - genuinely gorgeous new and vintage clothing, classic and cute wallets and purses, whimsical jewelry and shoes, and some truly fabulous home accessories. I love all of their jewelry hangers - the white stags are particularly gorgeous.

In terms of clothing, this place is a paradise. You can find designer names here, both new and vintage for a real steal (comparatively). I have browsed through Marc Jacobs, Jill Stuart, Miu Miu, Betsey Johnson and more - for way less than you're likely to find anywhere else.

The jewelry is both whimsical and timeless, and many of the accessories are just adorable. My only disappointment was their small selection of size six shoes. Having little feet can be a real detriment at times.

There are also some interesting coffee-table books floating around the store - I must have browsed one on vintage shoes for about half an hour before remembering I wasn't at Chapters.

If I had my way, this store is what my closet would like. Ah well. A girl can dream!

I would like to leave feedback upon the management of the store, and their immoral use of "training" people. Firstly, I had brought in my resume applying for a job. The female manager, appearing cheerful and honest, invited me for an interview the following week as the other manager, male, had to be apart of the hiring process. Fine, OK. I came into the interview, was told to walk around a bit.

After 15 minutes of wandering and waiting for their tardiness, they invited me to the adjacent store to interview me. They asked me the preliminary questions, as any interviews must, and then invited me for a 'trial day', which would be an hour. I have no idea what a trial day is but back East, where I am from, they don't have these arbitrary "trial days" and if they do, they are probational periods, which leads to my next point. When I came in for my trial day, they gave me these basic instructions, "Prove to me your customer service skills. Help people with clothing in their hands, straight the racks, but greet everyone and make everyone feel welcomed." Okay, easy enough.

I followed her instructions, asked questions when unsure. After the one hour, they told me they would call me back. I left UNPAID as they never called me back. Basically, for that ONE HOUR, I WAS UNPAID and LEAD ON. And how the hell is one to prove themselves in one day with such bullsh*t instructions, no introduction to the process or how the store operates. Just thrust into the most random situation and no help. Wow. Thanks FRONT for not paying me for that one hour and wasting my time. I will never shop there again, as it is obvious they do not care about people.

The first time I stepped foot into this store, I instantly liked it. A consignment/sample/vintage store, it also somehow managed to keep a consistent theme of selling contemporary clothing and jewellery. The staff are very friendly and helpful. And even though there were racks upon racks of clothes, I found it relatively easy to find things, there are labels everywhere, and everything was orderly.

If I weren't holding onto my wallet so tightly, I would have bought half the store! I will definitely come back again.

If nothing else, Front & Company will at least go down in history as having the best window display in all of Vancouver. Entirely off-the-wall and luxuriously bizarre, these ever-changing creations are a show (err, traffic?) stopper.

But I digress. A window display does not a store make. What does make a store however, is unexpected and one-of-kind items. Front & Co does this very well. Offering consignment, vintage, and new clothing (and accessories) for both men and women, the appeal of this shop is wide-ranging. But I'll be honest, I've yet to find anything that I reeeeeaally love here -- and not for lack of trying! And certainly not for a lack of vintage-love!

The concept is there, the clientele is most definitely there, but for some reason my perfect 'fill-in-the-blank' is just not there.

Sigh. At least I'll always have the windows.

Hip, modern, chic with an appreciation for vintage: there's nothing this boutique/consignment store can't do. With new stuff for those on the cutting edge and great pre-loved pieces for those with vintage appreciation or smaller budgets, the store has the bases covered. Need jewelry? Shoes? Lip balm with funny slogans? Look no further.

Whenever I've come it's slammed full of femmes while the nearby stores are dead-quiet. Clearly Front is doing something right.

The fab floral-print scarf that I bought for $16 is one of my faves. Thanks Front!

    Trendy, chic and vintage.

This is one of my favorite clothing and accessories stores on Main Street.  There are tons of styles and brands that I usually cannot find anywhere else.

I bring in my used clothing to sell on a monthly basis and I usually end up selling 80% of the clothes I bring in.  The rest is donated to charity or you can choose to take the clothes that do not sell back home with you.

Bring in clothes I am bored of, collect my money from previous sales and buy something else.  Love it!

I dig this place- spending money here would not be a difficult task. Front has to be one of my staple stores in Vancouver, whenever I need something specific from a night out to a simple staple I will hit Front first.

They have a brilliant selection of new and vintage, housewares and jewelry. Most of their newer stuff is modern and classic styling but what impresses me, and always has is their consignment.

They do a really good job of buying and showing pieces which are incredibly high quality and timeless.

Front and Company is two stores, clothing and jewelry and gifts, trinkets, housewares etc. I always check their smaller store when I have to go to baby or wedding showers or even birthdays as they have a really great selection of gift like items. They also have really reasonably priced, cute, funky jewelry if you need a pick me up.

Well worth the stop in when you're mid-Main that's for sure.

Front used to be one of my favourite places to go to when I was a kid, but now I've realized that it's sort of... pricey. (The clothing side of the store.)

They carry a lot of nice jewelry, dresses, sweaters, pants, shoes, etc. It's a really great place for finding vintage attire, but I found that some of the consignment clothes were a little expensive. Nonetheless, it's a very unique store that you can't just walk by.

I think that the other part of the store (the gift and housewares junk) part is better. I picked up my friend a hilarious pair of tweezers with a babushka on it! I like the fact that they carry a wide range of items, such as beautiful, white decorative plates, and themed earbuds. There's always something you can find at Front! It's a great place to get birthday gifts for people.

Whenever I'm in the mid-Main neighbourhood, I have to stop here. Why? Because they have the most wonderful, random selection of almost everything a gal could ever want. Robot necklaces? Check. Vintage Alexander McQueen? Check. Flask with an old-timey moustache emblazoned on it? Check.

Front & Company actually has two stores which are next to each other. The largest shop is where you'll find vintage (& new) clothing and jewellery, with various knick-knacks and novelties scattered in between. Next door is their housewares shop, which carries some of the niftiest items for the home I've found in the city. It reminds me of some of the shops that you can find in the OXO tower in London.

I'm not normally one to spend hours browsing through shops (I'm a get-what-you-came-for-and-get-out kinda girl) but I could seriously spend hours in this place. Three cheers for Front & Company -there just isn't anywhere else like it in the city.

I decided to warm up and go to Front and Company while waiting for the bus to head back home. What was supposed to be 9 minutes before the next #3 Downtown bus turned into 12 minutes.....15 minutes....20 minutes = 3 buses later during rush hour. The store is actually 3 stores in one with two separate entrances. The clothing portion of the store is cool and nicely displayed. It resembles more of an Urban Outfitters but with more classier things. I love how some of the knick knacks are displayed on the shelf above the clothing racks. I am more for the Kitsch items person than the clothes, however, they got the concept down pact and the staff are very nice and not in your face, making it comfortable to shop. The more Kitsch part of the shop is more for me and I swear I could spend $100 in there and spend almost an hour looking at every single thing.

So the best thing about this place is their window display. Dont get me wrong i have found some nice stuff there in consignment , but for the most part ...ITS EXPENSIVE.  All the new stuff is wayyyy over priced...Whoever heard of paying $40 for leg warmers?...Come ON!!!!!
If you try to consign there better make sure you got the cream of the crop, Baby (or make sure the girls who choose clothing are in a good mood). I brought a Betsy Johnson sweater and pin up girl shoes (brand new w/stickers on it) and they denied me consignment saying it was too nice, maybe around prom season for the shoes & they flat out denied my Betsey. Wtf?   I sold it independently on Craigslist for $50.
....... and the shoes I gave to a trampy friend

Just be ready for snobbery when shopping there.

I'm a huge fan of Front N Co.  I've been coming here for years - both as a shopper and as a consignor.  I believe that they most well run consignment stores in the area and I shop A LOT.  I've seen the place grow from their first store to what they are now.  I mourned the fire that kept me from their store a couple years back and rejoiced when the new store provided an even better experience shopping experience.

They always have a great selection of other people's cast offs and the store doesn't have the stale smell that many other consignment store has.  There's a bit for everyone - whether you're for a great selection of samples, vintage clothing, designer duds, men's clothing, accessories, housewares and gifts, consignment stuffs, shoes, purses... you're very likely to find something here.

The prices are decent - not the lowest in town but not the priciest.  They don't specialize in anything in particular (if you want a beauty of a vintage dress, I'd go to Burcu's Angels on Main and 17th)- they have an excellent inventory of treasures.

Keep your eyes open for ANY of their Rummage Sales.  The deals are outstanding.  I have picked up Prada skirts for 8 bux, Vivienne Westwood pumps for under $30 and the list just goes on.  I would beware of some of the designer duds (i.e. purses) since they can't authenticate that it is real.  It's up to you to do your homework.  Still, I bought a great AUTHENTIC LV bag for $144 (retail price:  over $1000).

I also regularly consign here because i know that they are organized.  They have become more picky over the last couple of years but most of my goods get sold so they're doing something right.

Go just to look at their windows who are designed by their own staff and are changed frequently.  They are spectacular and showcase the talents of their staff.  They are a creative bunch and I am amazed at their abilities and vision.

    You know what?  Just Go!

A great selection of clothing. It's pretty amazing, actually. Rather than having me go to a store and picking out items, I want to just buy everything from here.

They will have that pretty top that I didn't buy at full price, or that dress that I never saw at the stores. Accessories are also beautiful, and a limited selection of shoes. They also have a small men's section.

I love looking through racks and racks of clothes and then narrowing down my choices. (Or buying them all.)

    I love shopping, especially here.

I have always loved this store, shopped there, recommended to friends etc. I've even found some unique items and sent them overseas to friends abroad. I've recommended this place to everyone I can think of. I've often thought it really did a good job of setting itself apart from the other musty-smelling, dank consignment stores that have mushroomed up along Main St. but I won't be back. And I'll be sure to spread the word.

I brought in some really nice jackets and fall/winter clothes all relatively new, and clean and in 10/10 condition for consignment. They chose not to select anything at this time, which is totally fine. I have no problem with that at all. I had even come in to the store in advance to check and see what items they would be looking for and criteria of consignment so I wasn't bringing in junk. I know they get volumes of clothes on a daily basis.

It was the rude, obnoxious delivery of the hipster with the short black curly hair working behind the counter. She felt the need to reject the items with an unsolicited critique what I brought in when a "Thanks for coming in, there's nothing at this time we wish to select" would have been appropriate. As she launched into her  backhanded diatribe I smiled and said "That's ok.." as in, thanks but I don't require an explanation, that's fine. She told me I could take my items to a Sally Ann Bin over on X street. How absolutely rude and totally out of line. Over the last decade I've consigned clothes before at Cabbiges and Kinks, Burcu's Angels, and C'est La Vie and never have any of the operators reject anything with such sarcasm and rudeness.

I will never spend a dime here again.

I live in the neighbourhood and used to frequent Front & Co a lot. Back then, I found the consignment to be more trendy and current. I also find that now they tend to sell more new clothing from whatever local designers at prices you would find at stores like Aritzia. The consignment selection has really really gone down so I don't go often. When I do (the last 3 times this year), I did not find one item to purchase. The prices for used  clothing is pretty high considering stores like Aritzia, BCBG, and Banana Republic, etc have sale prices for brand new items that are cheaper than buying a used item. I would rather just go the store sales.

To add, I visited a few months ago and found a Chanel bag priced at $88. A Chanel bag with box, dust cover, and authenticity card for not $880.00, but $88.00. I asked if the item was authentic. It was placed in a display case and the sales rep answered "yes" but they do not guarantee authenticity. She also mentioned that she has one similar to it and it looked authentic to her. I questioned the authenticity given the price of $88.00 but she was firm on her answer. I inspected the bag but didn't think it was authentic and the saying goes "if it's too good to be true"....The current retail price for this bag I would estimate at the $2000 range. Although the bag was vintage (very good condition) I don't see how the consigner would accept a percentage of $88 for the value of the bag (if authentic). If the bag was authentic, whoever bought it got it at one heck of a deal!

Front sure does have a lot of stuff to look through, the lot of it very affordable and wearable, and that was just the new stuff. Cute wallets and and shoes and purses and accessories, too.

I started getting loaded down with hangers for try-on, but I started to feel like a mirage to the staff, many of whom passed by but none said hello or asked me if I wanted to start a room. I wouldn't really mind, except for the fact that at least twice, someone asked the person next to me this very question, but not me. Suck uppage is overrrated on Main Street, I guess. Damn their clothes for being so cute, because it sure wasn't the service that made me want to buy anything.

*sigh* where to even begin.  I love this place, because for me it is fashion porn.

It's like shopping the closets of girlfriends with good taste.  And it's all for sale.  Some of it never worn before.

Anything that has been there longer than one month is 20% off.  I bought a new pair of designer jeans there for $54.

Coming from San Francisco, I was a bit disappointed with the vintage/consignment selection Vancouver has to offer. However, Front and Co. is pretty good. It burned down and they built a new one that has a more mod/hipster vibe, and that's the style in general.
With all vintage stores you have to be patient and really look for some good items, and Front and Co. does have some precious gems amongst new and uber trendy apparel.
This store works differently then most i'm used to. You bring the clothes you want to consign in, and only after they sell the item do you get money.
If you don't like what you find the first time around, come back the next week because their stock is always changing. Prices vary but seem to be a bit more expensive then most consignment/vintage stores i'm used to.
Overall though, this is one of my favorite places to shop in Vancouver.

an old friend of mine used to luv comming to this store, on any given saturday afternoon we would jump in her car head over the main and B-line it straight to the Front.  We would spend hours siffting through the new and used clothing, trying to find that perfect piece to add to our wardrobe.

One of my favorite things is the yard sale they have every year.... bargain basement prices.. ask about it and they usually set it up in the back alley which make it even more of an adventure..... J-go sticks rocks the pylon orange cardy we found there.

Now for the real reason I sucked you in, I walked by the other day and was blown away at how the store looked.  I knew they had burnt down, and was going through a bit of a renovations.... but wow!  The store felt clean, clear, and who ever does the windows... good job, you don't see many retailers these days devoting any sort of interest to the windows.

So..it's  Christmas Eve..you have friends coming over for fondue and you have forgot to purchase a gift for one of them...oh ya..and it's the biggest snow fall in 40 years....what do you do...WHAT DO YOU DO!!!

If you're me you put on your snow shoes and balaclava and hit Main st. I knew that Front and Company carried a great selection of fun gifty things so I head straight to them. I love the Fred line and Propaganda as well...always hits for gifts..I picked up really cute vibrating salt and pepper shakers and cheeky wine tags...

The girl at the cash really sweet...she was rocking a huge fur hat...and we chatted about our Christmas plans...with "Merry Christmas" I was on my way..gifts in hand..crisis averted!

This store has 2 sections. A consignment section and a gifts, gadgets and jewelery section. There is something about main street that makes me enjoy stores more, but this place has a lot to offer. Im not particularly good at finding clothing in consignment stores but this place is easier than normal.
I also love all the local jewelery and really fun and random party gifts. The Fred line is a favorite. If your looking to browse or buy this place is a fun shopping store.

So here's my new view on Front and Co. I revisited a few more times and had some awesome experiences so read on lovelies!

Oh this place rocks.... cute cute CUTE clothes! The person who picks out through the undoubtedly huge piles of clothes that come to her front door must be super picky, because they only consign some of the most fashionable and best condition clothing I've ever seen in a consignment store. They have a section specifically called "vintage / eclectic" I think that awesome... in that area you'll find fringe to leath-uh and lace, but all over you'll find some cute stuff. Their thrift sizes are pretty small so I really only buy shirts here, they have mens too btw, and their girls are super nice. Be aware though, some prices can get a touch steep but I've never bought anything there that when I got up to the counter wasn't on sale for less then the tagged price.

They also sell boutique items such as mens and womens clothing, accessories, purses I want so bad, consignment shoes, new samples, stationary, jewelery etc etc etc. I'll admit some of their new stuff is way overpriced but other pieces are completely reasonable so I have no idea how their pricing scheme works. Their fitting rooms are quite nice too btw, floor to rail curtains that actually close with a nice mirror and ample clothes hanging areas. I like this place and its usually a traditional stop on main for me when I'm in town. : )

I visited the gift and gadget sections of the store which has a separate entrance from the consignment section.  It has a great selection of interesting, unique and unusual knick knacks, gadgets and paper products.  I found a key chain holder and an iPhone cover which I had only seen overseas.

A great place to look for a fun gift or stocking stuffers.

Maybe it was the Armani dress, the See By Chloe Top, or the Kate Spade bags, but this store is lust at first site.

Great layout, great merching (yes!! Easy to shop!!), and offering up new and vintage finds to make everyone feel special and sparkly.

Top of my list for my next shopping binge!!

Pass by the windows of this unique Main Street clothing store and you'll see dressings and displays fit for a Holt Renfrew, BCBG Max Azaria, the Bay or Aritzia. Pull an Alice in Wonderland through-the-looking-glass move and you'll find yourself in a world of fantasy fashion.

This new and used consignment shop has grown over the years to take over three buildings on the block between between 21st and 22nd avenues. In terms of props and products, Front & Company has goods from over 5,000 consigners to choose from.
