Similarly to previous postings, I was ensnared by the small Province of Quebec tourist information signs on the side of Highway 20. The relatively short side trip was quite picturesque and worthwhile.

Although they have a side service window (which I believe also sells bread and wine) as well as outdoor seating for picnicking, the fromagerie itself is businesslike. I ordered the Le Seigneur de Tilly Gouda and Brins de Gouda curds, which were good but unremarkable. Luckily I also ordered four various soft cheeses, similar to Camembert. These may be some of the best soft cheeses I have ever tasted.  Of course, over the months I have forgotten the names...  Quel dommage!

I was driving home from Quebec back to Boston and saw a sign posted on the highway for a Fromagerie.  In mere minutes we on our way to a few tastings and a few cheese purchases at this little store!  The store is in the front of where they make all the cheese and they have big windows inside the shop for you to peer and admire the cheese production inside the plant.

We sampled three and purchased two.  They appear to be known for their gouda per the sign out front, and it was one of the best I've had.  The prices were very reasonable too.

I also ended buying a rabbit pate even though it wasn't made in Quebec.  I couldn't resist although I should have because at our next stop everything was locally made and was less expensive.  they also offer lots of good looking French cheeses too, in case you can't live without your Roquefort.

Like the other Yelper who's posted, I was on my way back to Boston from Quebec City, and wanted to stop by my first fromagerie with a friend! We had bought Fromagerie Bergeron's gouda curds from the local supermarket and loved them so decided to pay it a visit. The website was welcoming and was even in English so I figured people might speak English there.

Unfortunately, it was a very hectic and overall unpleasant experience. They have a self-guided tour in both French and English which is a little bit lame since it's just pictures on a wall of a dim room. We couldn't watch the video since it was only in French (English subtitles? Come on!) We went to the cheese shop which was so hectic. It was set up like a deli so we had to decide which cheeses we wanted and pay immediately before the next customer could go. They had so many different products and we didn't know what they were. We asked to taste one of them (the cheese with cumin) which was a little weird. The staff weren't helpful at all, even though at least one of them spoke English.

We ended up buying a small block of le Calumet, just because we felt bad for holding up the line and because we'd made the trip out of the way. They didn't take credit card, so I had to give up my last US cash. I left the store and noticed the cashiers laughing with each other at the fact that we didn't understand French, and I thought that was so rude.

As a person who only knows a little French, do not go! They will treat you like dirt.
