Upon walking into this shop, the smell of incense hit my nose and transformed me into a fan of this remarkable store. This clothing, furniture, jewelery, knickknack store was amazing and filled with so many goodies. The premise of this store is that the store owner (Lucia) buys furniture, clothing, (anything!) and transforms them into artfully beautiful, one-of-a-kind items.

I bought bamboo earring years ago and have long since lost the sticks that you use to put the earrings in. This place has replacement sticks! It only cost me $1 for a pair. I was so excited! I have been on a search for these sticks forever!

They have a great selection of bamboo and bone earrings -- all at a great price too.

Other random and wonderful things I noticed in this store were knitted lighter covers, belly dancing gear, consignment clothing, star lamps and "pocket bags" (A much cooler version of a fanny pack).

I suggest everyone take a peak inside this store -- even if you don't buy anything (which will be hard!) just for the experience. This is a local store at its best!

The Frog Kissers Den is a funky little shop on 124 Street. It is filled with fantastic finds, mostly hand made by local and Canadian artisans.

Lucia van der Meer is the owner and creative mind behind the store. She morphs anything used into something new. From funky one-of-a-kind end tables to hair ties, t-shirts to pirate clothes, there is always something new to behold when you visit.

Your eyes will be treated to lots of eye candy as the shop if packed with product, both crafted and new. At the back of the shop is a wardrobe section consisting of vintage clothes and revamped attire. The shop also provides decor items, jewelry and belly dancing costumes.

If you are sensitive to scent be warned before you go as often incense is burned inside. However, it does add to the 60's inspired store.

Kiss the from at the Frog Kissers Den and find your crafty prince!

If you've heard the tale of the frog who was kissed by a princess and turned into a prince, this is the philosophy and alchemy behind Lucia van der Meer's shop. She takes things as they are and transforms them into something even more beautiful with her imagination, creativity and flair for the colourful and whimsical. Whether it's furniture, clothing, greeting cards, jewelry or picture frames, she's always got a project on the go. You can find her huddled over her workshop hard at play. She'll look up and greet you when you come in, then leave you to explore the den. I usually sneeze as I browse. It's either the incense or that old dusty, mothball smell from the recycled garments in the back. Whether you just want to poke around or you're looking for a special little gift for someone, you'll find what you're looking for here. Inspiration breeds inspiration, and you can't leave this shop without feeling a little lighter and more hopeful. But the fresh air outside is always nice afterwards.
