  Ahhh...I am a city girl through and through. Victoria is the land of wearing pj pants in public and white people with dreads. I needed a brazilian wax and literally could not find a place walking around downtown(maybe au naturel is big here?). Anyways, I got a recommendation from a girl at American Apparel about Frilly Lilly. YAY! AMAZING PLACE!
  
  The inside is soooo girly I felt right at home. They have their own bath line and it smells divine. They use hard wax and it hurts less and I got less red bumps as well(tmi I know). It takes longer than soft wax, but I can get over that.
  
  I am definitely going back for a pedicure!

  I had the privilege of being Frilly Lilly's first client this morning. Well technically second I suppose. Apparently they had a product sale before me. But I was the first to experience their waxing services.
  
  Frilly Lilly just opened their doors today in Victoria. They are a Canadian company that started in Calgary. The Frilly Lilly product line is a dessert inspired array of lotions, bubble baths, scrubs and more. They also have delicious looking bathcakes in flavours like strawberry shortcake and chocolate fudge. How very indulgent for bath time! The lime verbena lotion is to die for. At $24 it may not be cheap, but this is a line that really makes you feel special and pampered. And let's not forget incredibly girly.
  
  My experience today was with Jana. I was taken into the white waxing room with decor that included a lovely pink lamp and very bright pot lights. I'd like to state that the lighting was fantastic. Oftentimes you'll find a great esthetician, but if the lighting isn't there then you're just being set up for disappointment. As a veteran receiver of brazillans I tend to prefer the soft wax over the hard. It is quicker, less messy, and I find there is little difference pain-wise. They use the hard wax at Frilly Lilly so I did spend 45 minutes receiving this service. I brought up with Jana that I'm not used to spending $58 on a brazilian and she said the reason for the higher price is the wax. In Victoria the average price is around $40-$45. I'm not sure if I'll be able to make this a regular thing at this cost, but I will tell you one thing. My brazilian is flawless. Perfection if I may say so.
  
  After my service I poked around the shop a little more. The walls are a soft, very pale pink. There are so many beautiful products I'd love to line up in my bathroom. They also sell jewelry. Some very pretty pieces from necklaces to earrings to several different rings. The price point for the jewelry was surprisingly low. Earrings that I quite liked were between $20 and $30.
  
  Upstairs is the pedicure area. It is set up beautifully with lots of pillows on a cushioned bench and I can just picture myself and a girlfriend enjoying some catch up time. Back downstairs there is a large table set up for manicures with modern chandeliers hanging above. Frilly Lilly absolutely put a lot of thought and effort into creating a beautiful, almost fantasy like space.
  
  Frilly Lilly has been picked up in L.A. shops and has been a hit with celebrities as well. I can understand why. The owner, Karen, is a very welcoming lady and I feel she has brought something new and unique to our little city.
