Every month, Alana hooks me up with silky smooth gams. I get leg waxes cause when I shave, I've already got velcro legs again by toweling off time. Thank you, Ukranian ancestors. Alana takes time and care and directs me into silly yoga moves to get hairs that may not be very visible, but impair the silky smooth goal. She understands. And after half a year with her, my hairs grow back much softer and sparser! What's not to love? I also dig that she is more girl next door and less barbie, as an aesthetician.
It's gonna be pricey adding a bikini wax for springtime, but worth it, cause I've had had some gnarly cheap bikini waxes and learned it's not worth skimping on the skimpy-enabling. -

love this place!! Its clean, Alana is very professional and most importantly she makes me feel very comfortable. The hard wax is great!
Also has many promotions!
the little jewellery store in the front is awesome! -

I really liked my experience here with Alana. I picked this spot because of all the Yelp reviews, and I'm so relieved that it didn't disappoint. She was very professional and made me feel at ease, and did a really thorough job explaining the entire process in the beginning and even during it. The price is worth it.
One cool thing that will make me go back before my next appointment is that they have really cool-looking jewelry for sale. -

I'm very confused. I think I might be the first to post a so-so review for FrillyLilly but maybe it's bc most people seem to have gotten brazilians? I got an underarm wax for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I was left, and still am, quite confused bc I'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to be.
The front desk girl told me my aesthetician will be out soon, but she ended up being 10mins late to an 15 appt. I don't really mind, bc I wasn't in a hurry but I thought it was quite awkward how the place is basically like cubicles with no ceilings so I could hear all the conversations that were going on. So it was around 15-20mins of awkward silence between me and the girl, with some awkward eye contact with no excuses saying shes running late or anything.
Then when she came, she was very friendly and nice, told me what she's going to do, explained about waxes, etc. I told her that it was my first time getting an underarm wax, and she told me what to expect, saying the hair will grow back a bit finer in 2-3 weeks, then you have to wait around 3weeks for it to grow so you can wax it again. Then she explained that she would be working in small patches.
Well when I looked in the mirror as I was getting dressed, I could see small black dots, like the kind you get after a shave, and I thought that was strange bc when I get other parts waxed, there's usually nothing until hair grows back. I thought that maybe thats how it is when you get the underarms waxed, bc i hadnt gotten one before. Well, by the next day I could see hair growing out, it looked as if I've shaved it instead of getting it waxed. After a week I noticed that it was very patchy, some parts, I guess, had been broken off and were very thick and long, with blunt ends, like it had been shaved, and some parts grew back like you'd expect after a wax. I don't think that's supposed to happen, since she told me it would take around 2-3 weeks for hair to grow, then another 2-3 for it to grow out, and I could see patches of hair within a day or two. So I'm left confused about what happened and the glowing reviews on here. -

Just returned, and yep, it's still the best. And I'm not too fussed over the price with service this good.
I will no longer go anywhere else in Vancouver. Give it a try!
Love that it is so clean inside, too.Listed in: ***** Five Star Faves *****, Holy Hotness All Year Round

If you want to talk waxing pro, this would be me, been ripping hairs off my body since I was 13, starting with a little Indian lady that used to come to my house with a sugar-honey potion to do my legs. Since then have graduated to many salons from South Beach around the globe.
I have had my Vancouver staple esthetician for almost 12 years, long before bikini waxing became vogue in Vancouver and you had to hunt for a place to do your Brazilian, Playboy, Hawaiian, what not and in the process weather burns, rips and 2 hour long torture sessions.
This long lengthy discourse is my PhD in waxing. Frilly Lily is great, I took a chance on a Group On to be unfaithful to my esthetician. It was a great affair and I fear I may be adulterous in future.
It's a girly joint, pink and white and oh so cute and pretty. If you're going in to have someone manhandle your bits, it may as well be pretty while you lay spread on a table. The rooms are clean, sterile and well equipped. The wax is the new solid wax which does not adhere to your skin and just your hair (no ripping). They use 3 kinds dependent on the area and sensitivity, a plus for newbies.
My very sweet lady was Lyndsy and she was excellent. Great attitude, chatty but not overly so and most of all professional and thorough. Some places you can tell they want you out and gone (which truly when you are down there on strangers all day can you blame them?)
So, its the standard price $59- I liken my nether regions to my eyes, they are rather precious, if you want to go for a cheapie wax and maybe never have a fulfilling sex life again, so be it. I like to treat my special areas special, I wouldn't go for the bargain basement laser eye surgery so why compromise my lovely bits.
Cheers, enjoy, take 2 Advil beforehand if you're worried about pain. -

I bought a groupon for brazilian hard wax here a while back, and I have to say, this is one of the best places in Vancouver for that! Great service, excellent technique, cute boutique! Loves it!

I've tried probably 5 different salons for brazilians before and I can say hands-down, this is the best place. I've been going here for over a year and I don't go anywhere else anymore! Their wax is amazing - it grabs everything! It's less painful than other places and their technicians are fabulous! Hours are great too!

I was very impressed by this place. It is a calming white color, and they use the most fab wax that they just pull off you skin no need for annoying and painful strips. The wax is all natural and smells so yummy. I get my eyebrows and waxing here and they do such a great job I won't go anywhere else.
Also I bought some of the lip balm works great and tastes even better and also a bath bomb which was shaped to a bday cake sooo cute. I would say go to this spa and check it out its really different than anything in Vancouver! :) -

Had a wax there with Jody, she did a great job and I love that they use hard wax! So worth the little bit higher price then with just regular strip wax.

Pink & girly spa, my manicure from here lasted a week & for waxing, they use "hard wax", making Frilly Lilly one of the few places I didn't have to nurse my body back to health after getting waxed. I went here initially using a Groupon & have been back a few times since. Both Allana & Lyndsay are pros.

Jody is amazing. Pain free, clean, and she takes her time, makes you feel at ease, and explains everything re hard vs. soft wax. The store itself is pretty adorable with glittery, one of a kind baubles and you definitely feel pampered here. However. Price. When you're living on a budget, this place is sort of a no go. I bought a groupon and am sad I didn't buy more! Damn my poorness!! However, waxes here are amaze, and I definitely recommend it for people who are timid/ first timers

So I found out about Frilly Lilly online and was interested in their bath products. They look sooo cute and delicious, and they smell just as great. But on on groupon I found a sale for a Brazilian or Hawaiian wax and decided to buy one because I'm going to Hawaii tomorrow and decided what the hell why not.
This is my first time getting a waxing down there so I was really really really nervous, I almost left when I got there. But the girls there are really friendly and welcoming. I got Alana as my waxer. She is beautiful, and nice and very caring. I told her i was really nervous and she talked with me throughout the waxing. She will for sure be my go to gal the next time I need to get my special area done.
They use a new stick every time so those of you who worry about double dipping be aware that they don't do it here. Well not for the special area. The wax they use was very gentle, as gentle as could be, it's warm when applied. They use a hard wax for more sensitive areas, I think that's what Alana told me... But I'm pretty sure I forgot what she said... They didn't use strips for my area, hence the hard wax.
Alana was very informative about after care so I'm sure that I won't have any problems. I also bought a bathcake that they sell and a necklace.
If you are a first timer I would recommend coming to Frilly Lilly. My experience was beyond exceptional and I think I've found my go to place when I want to get a Brazilian done. -

I had my first Brazillian ever today at Frilly Lilly in Yaletown. I was in town visiting for a conference and had purchased the Groupon deal at the beginning of the month.I had never even waxed my eyebrows before so it took a lot of courage for me to go in.
I arrived to my appointment fresh off the plane, tired and a little nervous. Alana was amazing with me, even though a couple of times my leg jerked really hard when she pulled a strip. She was very reassuring and kept chatting throughout in an attempt to make me forget my pain. She also was very good at explaining all the dos and donts of after care.
I would go back to her again in a second! Hopefully I can arrange rto be back in Vancouver in 5 weeks so she can make me look pretty all over again! -

Alana is professional and makes you feel at ease. The quality of product used is excellent and therefore a more comfortable experience than most places. Frilly Lilly is a cute shop in Yaletown, easy to get to, and there is always daytime parking close by. The front room shopping is fun for accessories and jewelry too!

I was walking in Yaletown to get my car detailed (see yelp review on that later) and walked by this place. I haven't had any services done, however, was intrigued by the décor and noticed that it was just more than a hair removal place. I am reviewing the store décor and products, not the services (since I didn't get anything done and I like my beaver warm). Their selection of service items on their menu are funny. The colors of the store are girly pink with lots of well displayed body, bath and jewelry. It resembles the store Barefoot Contessa on Main. Very clean atmosphere and very friendly staff when we walked in. I bought a bath bomb (cake) which I will try later this week. They do pedicures and I love having my feet done. I may go back and some point and check their foot services.

I am OBSESSED with Frilly Lilly but I can't give it 5 stars YET as I haven't had the chance to try out any of their services... although now I am VERY interested in getting a Brazilian and from previous reviews, service seems AMAZING.
My friend and I were strolling through Yaletown and I was absolutely MESMERIZED by the gorgeous window display.... so of course I couldn't resist and HAD to go in. I think I pretty much walked into my heaven. Baby pink walls, GORGEOUS white vintage furniture and GIRLY accessories EVERYWHERE! Not to mention their beauty products ALSO in decorated with pink pink and more pink! The lady working at the desk was SUPER nice and greeted us with a smile, explained the concept of Frilly Lilly to us and encouraged us to try things on and explore the shop! Apparently Frilly Lilly Mama (the owner) hand picks everything in the store from California! LOVE. They sell lots of cute bobby pins (we found a super cute one for only $5!), jewelry, scarfs and other hair accessories. They have a whole line of body products including lip balms, body butter, perfume, body sprays, nail polish + cuticle care products (WHICH SMELL A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!). I thought I was in heaven already but I think I seriously stopped breathing when I stepped towards the middle of their shop...
Omg. Omg. Omg. The mani/pedi area is THE cutest spot I have EVER seen. The pink, brown and white themed pillows on the cushy bench looked SO classy with the *SHINY* white tiled steps and little white ice cube cushion seats. The contrast against the vintage brick wall just put me in awe. I wanted to LIVE there. Forever.
Although I didn't get a wax or anything done while I was at Frilly Lilly, just being in the shop made my day. I look forward to coming back to try one of their services soon! Frilly Lilly Mama... I heart you!! -

Situated in the heart of Yaletown is this super girly store decked out with the pinks , whites, the sugar lillies, and precious jewelry. The reception is super attentive (unlike a lot of other spa/wax/salons) - she actually made eye contact with me the whole time!
I went here because I bought a Groupon and I did not regret it. Alana was my esthetician and she was very thorough with my ta ta. They use 3 kinds of hard wax so I would definitely recommend thus store to first time waxees.
Since the coupon craze started I have been trying out various waxing places and this is by far the #1 choice. Be aware that you are paying for what you get so it is definitely not the cheapest but if I were to compare Frilly Lilly to other aesthetic businesses around the same price, I would definitely recommend this place.
I received a coupon from them for $15 credit for waxing the next time I go back (which I probably will use).
The jewelry makes me feel like I'm a kid at a candy store again. So pretty!! -

Oh wow.
This was the best brazillian I've ever had. I went using a groupon, and everyone was so nice and friendly!
The shop is super cute and very girly.
I think Jody did my waxing and it was the most thorough wax I've ever experienced. They use hard wax, so it hurts less. There were also multiple steps before she started: sanitizing, prepping, etc. Maybe I've just gone to cheaper places, but the quality of service was amazing! She also went over the spots with tweezers to get out hairs that were too short! She was very chatty during the whole process which helped because it distracted me from the potential awkwardness. I was so impressed with how clean the spa was... they take sanitizing very seriously.
They also gave me a coupon for my next wax, which is great because their prices are a little too high for me! Will definitely return with this!! -

first tried this place on a groupon and now i'm hooked! my first visit here was also my first brazilian ever so i was kind of unaccustomed to etiquette and whatnot. however, the aesthetician was gracious, professional and so nice and easy to talk to. she was also super informative! most importantly, she did an amazzzzing job! no broken hairs, very very few ingrowns. i would definitely be a lifetime fan except that prices a tad high, especially with stripped wax bar around the corner
