Look.  As Americans we expect a lot of food.  As health conscience people, we expect to get thin while pigging out.  As cheap asses... we want it for close to free.  This is your place!

Ok.. If you're looking for a romantic spot to try to get somewhere with someone.. the flourecents might not help you out... but the lack of nasty chemicals and added fats will keep your tummy from rumbling later... So it evens out.

My vegan happy self is thrilled with the fact that they actually CARE if I get sick or not. They have good separation practices that make a Die hard Vegan comfortable enough that we don't have to watch every move.

My vegetarian daughter digs this place... (see photo of said child at said Freshii).

Yay, fast, cheap and easy!  (Oh, and healthy)

    AND... FREE WIFI.

    Nuff said people.

The best dish here is the ludicrously named "warrior bowl", a frankly disgusting sounding mixture of brown rice, buffalo chicken, and low fat ranch dressing, a great gloppy mass of nonsense thrown together into a chinese takeout type box.  It is that kind of place - have it your way, so long as your way involves throwing disparate ingredients on top of each other in a box, and binding the whole absurd thing together with xantham gum sauces.  The indignities go beyond the food, from the stupid name (what is the point of the extra "i"?) and the irritating ordering process, which involves being harassed by staff while trying to fill out a complicated form on a clipboard with a fingernail sized pencil, to the fact that they pride themselves on mixing your salad in a disposable, supposedly biodegradable bag (why? Who knows?).

So, I suppose that sounds like a 1 star review.  It's not because despite all the horrors, freshii offers a way to order fresh-ish vegetables in the tunnels.  And the food, as awful as it sounds, somehow ends up tasting inoffensive, and at least has the virtue of being very filling.  Sometimes, small mercies are worth rather a lot.

Wow!  Freshii -- thank you for coming to downtown Houston!  It is a welcome change of pace from the usual "fast food" hell that is downtown.  I love your salads and your bowls -- and the fact that you actually stay open until 6pm when just about everyone has closed up for the afternoon.

As others have stated, the lines are long at lunch -- but they are there for a reason:  this place has the tastiest and healthy food I've ever had.  You can customize your meal by using the order form, which can be overwhelming the first time you're there.  Or you can do what most people do:  order off the menu.  I've had the grilled steak salad and the Warrior Chicken Bowl -- and I'm a big fan of those!  I can tell you that there are practically zero carbs on the grilled steak salad, and about a zillion in the Warrior Chicken bowl -- but those are low glycemic index carbs (brown rice, veggies, etc).  And that is why this place is healthy:  its fresh, its good for your body and most of all, its tasty.  All of which makes me come here quite a bit for lunch and dinner.

Overall, a great place for food. Why not 5 stars?  A bit on the pricey side for the salads, but I'm certain its because they don't use iceberg lettuce -- its all Romaine, spinach and other goodies :)

    I'm coming back for sure!

It gets tiring eating from the same 5-10 restaurants every day while at work. So when Freshii opened up I was excited and waited in line for 50 mins to get something new and try it out. It was good, a refreshing new alternative to the limited options I had available.
I work really close so I've gone to Freshii a handful of times. There food is consistent, and the staff are amazingly nice and good humored. Oftentimes, the manager or owner is on hand to help explain how the line works, and how customizable your wraps/soups/ rice bowns/ salads can be.
Why I will not be going back:
    1. Their food is never really quite hot enough. Ever. Me and the five coworkers I go to lunch with always have to order our food and go back and reheat it. It's not so bad once you microwave it but still I wish it was served warmer. Maybe they are trying to be eco- conscious and hardly heat it, who knows.
    2. The number one reason I am not going back. I hate when places try to be SO quick that they don't properly clean/ inspect their meats. Its what happened here. TWICE. Twice I have been served a burrito that had a HUGE chunk of chicken cartilage in it. It's digusting and ruins both my lunch and appetite. I can't fathom eating at a place where this has happened more than once. I mean what am I supposed to say when I order, "Hi, I'd like a signature burrito, hold the cartilage?" No thanks.

I had the pleasure of eating at Freshii the other night. WOW!! I had the cobb wrap specially made (sans the blue cheese and honey dijon) and it was amazing.

I also bought a vegan banana mini loaf and died and went to heaven.  It was so tasty.

The cashier was helpful and extremely nice.  It's nice that if I want something quick and fast foodesque, I can get it healthily.  So glad they're openeing more of these up around Houston - our city could you use more fresh, healthy places to eat~ economically and environmentally!

The bangkok something wrap is also really friggin' awesome - I'm getting that next time - and they serve Stacey's Pita chips!!! SCORE!

A refreshing take on healthy "fast food." Freshii offers countless ways to design a nutritious, delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner! Freshii also employs the friendliest staff who walk guests through the ordering process in order to facilitate personal customization.
I had the Spicy Lemongrass Soup and doctored it up with some broccoli and avocado. It was delightfully flavorful and filling! The frozen yogurt is to die for!!
So stop by Freshii and discover endless ways to healthy food on the go!

Love the focus on vegetarian, vegan desserts, calorie consciousness, super healthy, etc. - all good!  However, the food is mediocre at best.  The rice and noodle bowls are served cold, and occasionally the food you're served is very bland because they forgot to add the sauce, etc. - this has happened twice.  The line gets long and moves very slowly, its a new so maybe they will pick up the pace down the line...

The spicy lemongrass is worth a shot, I may go back again...but definitely not a favorite.

Freshii's got a good concept, and I think it's more orangized than Salata. None of that pressure of a line behind you while picking out your salad ingredients. At Freshii, you get a checklist and just mark off what you want. They also have great "set" items- it's much easier sometimes to just pick something right off the menu.

I ordered the bbq chicken salad, and it was okay. Felt pretty healthy, but they just pile everything up in the center of the salad. It's filled up to the brim, so there's not much room in the container to toss your sald. It'd be nice if they tossed it for you. The soup looks good- you pick a base and your own ingredients. My friend usually gets the Thai lemongrass one.

Be prepared for a long line though.

FINALLY!  Healthy fast food downtown!  My prayers have been answered!  Well, maybe not that fast, when you notice the line...

I've been to Freshii twice for lunch, and I've tried the Buffalo Chicken salad and the chicken teriyaki rice bowl.  Having grown up in Buffalo, NY, I can vouch that the salad was missing some kick -- surprising, since Frank's hot sauce doesn't add more than 2 calories.  It was more like a blue cheese salad than a Buffalo salad; tasty, but still disappointing.

The rice bowl was a HUGE serving.  Almost too much to eat in one meal.  I would have been happier with a little more chicken and veggies and a little less rice, honestly.  But the flavors were good, and it kept me full until dinner time.

They also serve Sinless brownies and cupcakes which, unfortunately, I cannot vouch for at this time.  (but hopefully next time!)

I like that all of the nutrition information is posted, so that you can make conscious choices about what you're eating.  You can't beat the selection of healthy food items at freshii, but, with Chick-fil-A right next door and half the price, I don't think that I'll be dining here every day.

Thought I would try another new lunch place today but didn't want to go far, so I tooled over the Freshii.  I have been eyeballing this place for a while but have yet to stop in.  Why? Well, they use one of those new-fangled clip board ordering systems.  I don't know why but I find that I am very offput by those.  Why can't I just walk up and tell someone what I want and let them fill out the paperwork to their liking?  Anyway, I was taking an early lunch and there was no one in line ahead of me, so I went on in.

The nice guy standing in the front helped me out and I filled in an order for a wrap filled with spinach with goat cheese, kalamata olives, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes and red onions.  I put olive oil and balsamic on it for dressing.  Strangely enough, after I ticked off all the things I wanted, the guy still had to review it and mark the items I had marked with a blue highlighter.  Why couldn't he ask me what I wanted and do the marking in the first place??? Who knows?  Anyway, I got my copy of the order form and took it to the checkout and the girl started to ring me up.  I asked for tea.  The cost was $12.30.  For a wrap and tea?  This had better be a seriously good wrap.

I got my tea, which was good and sat just outside the store on the bench and had a short wait for my wrap.  I took it upstairs, sat down and opened it up.  The wrap was tightly rolled, which I like.  That way the ingredients don't immediately start falling into your lap as you try to eat the thing.  The tortilla seemed a little bit heavy and appeared to have been in the fridge.  Not the freshest ever, but it was still soft.  When I bit into the wrap, I immediately tasted the olives and goat cheese with spinach.  It was really satisfying and savory.  All of my ingredients shone through, although there was not a lot of bacon.  Can you ever have enough bacon?  Since that was my primary protein, I would have expected more.  Anyway, from first bite to last, that wrap was tasty and all of the ingredients were evenly distributed so you didn't get a clump of cheese then a clump of olives, etc.  The ingredients were also all very fresh tasting, so, Freshii lives up to their name.

Looking at the prices in their menu items, they do seem to be a little bit more pricey than some of the other mall food joints.  Their quality ingredients do speak well for the added expense, however.  I think I will do some comparison eating now to decide if I really think they are worth it.

Freshii has one of the coolest concepts for a restaurant.  You can customize anything and the food is fresh and healthy and the packaging is environment friendly!  I tried Freshii out the other day and was pleased.  The atmosphere was pleasant and the workers made sure you understood how the order system worked.  Very patient people and friendly! Freshii has these little white clipboards with order forms on them.  You write what you want and check off items that you want in your order and they take a carbon copy and you keep one copy.  Your order is made and when you reach the pay line, your order will be right there waiting for you. Very neat way to get the line mving.   I tried the Tuna Garden Wrap from the chef designed menu since I was not in the mood to create something random.  The guy helping me with my order suggested I go heavy on the dill cucumber dressing on my wrap since it would be super yummy.  I decided to go with his suggestion.  So he helps me finish my order form and submits it to the guys making the food in the back and I stand in line waiting to pay.  I get to the register and my order is already there!  I saw a sign for the Stamp cards and asked for one.  The stamp card is a frequent buyer/eater card that you get and collect stamps on.  The guy at the register said someone stole all their boxes of stamp cards so he stamped my receipt and told me to come back when they get the cards.  He said I can just bring the receipt then.  He also said I could even say I went there more than once or not even have receipt evidence and he would honor what I tell him.  Pretty neat that this guy was trustworthy of folks.  Hopefully no one takes advantage of this honor system!

Got back to my desk and bit into my wrap.  Wow!  The wrap was full of quality ingredients and the dressing was perfect.  I munched happily away, glad to have found a healthy yet satisfying wrap.

I hope Freshii does well at the Shops.  I love the concept and the food is so far very good.
