Fresh Cafe is a great little option for Breakfast/Lunch. All of the items on their menu have locally-sourced ingredients and are prepared fresh.
If you're going here in the cooler months, or choose to sit inside, I would mention that it does get quite noisy upstairs at peak times. I don't mind, as this way I feel not everyone is listening in on my conversation. However, if you're someone who needs silence to enjoy a meal I would not recommend. That being said, it is a very lively fun place to eat.
In particular, I have enjoyed the grilled cheese with apples, yogurt parfait, both bison and turkey burgers, as well as their homemade borsch. My favorite time of year to visit Fresh is in the late spring/summer, as nothing can beat a healthy brunch on the patio. Prices are fair, so give it a shot!

I love that Fresh Cafe is in a cute little house!!

My friends and I were seated upstairs and our waitress was really friendly.

YOU NEED TO ORDER THE ORANGE JUICE. I've never had orange juice this delicious before. Ever. It tasted so pure and amazing! I don't know if I can ever drink regular orange juice again after this... it has ruined me.

I wasn't a big fan of the hashbrowns, they tasted slightly stale and were a little on the chewy side.. I did like the rosemary seasoning though. I also got some toast and eggs scrambled with cheese and those were fine.

I'd come back next time I'm in town, because my Winnipeg friend is in love with Fresh Cafe. He didn't seem to find any issues with the hashbrowns because he ate all mine when I stopped. So maybe it was just me.

Great staff, clean food, warm atmosphere.

One of the few places in town that focuses on sourcing their produce, as well as meat, locally. All organic, and they have several vegan options.

I eat here at least once a week, and bring friends & clients alike. Nobody has ever had a complaint.

I love how, well, Fresh everything is here.  The owners seem like lovely girls, the staff is friendly, the food is damn delicious--and organic!  I've had many a breakfast here but my favourite would have to be the sweet potato latkes--make sure to get some bison sausages on the side, they're to die for!

Also the only place I can currently get almond milk lattes in winnipeg, minus at home!

There's not a lot of good brunch places in Winnipeg so for those who want local, organic, and not too greasy breakfast/lunch and is tired of going to Stella's week after week - Fresh Cafe provides a nice change.

It's not a very large restaurant; the first floor is mostly taken up by the kitchen, the fresh juice bar and a communal table. The second floor is where most people end up sitting unless the patio is open. The line up is usually about 20 minutes or so during the busy brunch period.

I love the fresh fruit and veggie juices available - my fav being the citrus sun. I love their burgers! I've tried the bison, elk and turkey burger. The bison burger with smoked gouda is delicious; it comes with yam fries but you can get a side salad instead.

The roasted turkey with cranberry aioli is okay - nothing to write home about but a good turkey sandwich.

My favourite breakfast is the eggs benny - it comes with either bacon or house-cured salmon, I opted for the latter. The dish also came with roasted potato chunks.

The dishes are about $9-$15 and the fresh juices can range from $4-$7. Service is very warm and friendly.

A nice restaurant, very reminiscent of Fresh restaurants in Toronto.  As for the 'cafe' side of things, I thought the coffee was sub-par.  Note to their barista:  to make an Americano, pull a single espresso and add boiling water.  If you instead run 250 ml of water through a single portafilter of espresso, that's called a Lungo, and it tastes gross because the coffee is over-extracted.
