    This place is awesome!

The donuts are cheap and delicious. The lady working there was super cool. She hooked me up with half a dozen donut holes! Awesome place and definitely will be back soon.

Since this restaurant is located pretty close to where I live, and I was hungry for some breakfast, I decided to give it a try.  It appears to be a small, family owned business so don't expect a Dunkin' Donuts, Shipley's type of franchise.

As you can tell from the pictures, they have breakfast tacos, donuts, kolaches, croissants, and donut holes.  They have some deals where if you order 6 donuts, they give you a dozen free donut holes.  The fatty that I'm not decided to just get a plain sausage kolache and one glazed donut.  The kolache was pretty good. It tasted fresh and not as salty as the sausage kolaches that I get from The Kolache Factory.  It's definitely bigger too, but it's mostly bread. However, the donut was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It was extremely soft yet still crispy on the outside.  It had a perfect thin sugar glaze that made it aesthetically appealing unlike the flaky, smashed, soggy donuts that you get from Shipley's.  I literally ate the entire donut in less than 5 seconds.  I was a little mad at myself for not ordering more but lesson learned, I suppose.

Overall, I recommend trying this place out.  Haven't tried the breakfast tacos so I don't have an opinion on that, but based on the other reviews, they appear to be great as well. One thing I would like to point out is that if you're into the unique kolache flavors like Ranchero, Chicken Enchilada, etc... from The Kolache Factory, you won't find those here.

First off, the donuts are not that good. They are kind of dry and not that sweet, savory, melt in your mouth donuts like Shipleys. Same goes with the cinammon donuts..

Now what REALLY makes me mad  is when I order kolaches for jalepeno cheeze kolache and i get JUST cheese and sausage. UGH. So, I call them to let them know they gave me the wrong ones and they tell me to come back.. Well.. I work 45 minutes away so I'm not giong to do that. I left them know I work too far to drive back 45 minutes and can I just get reimbursed. They say, bring back the kolaches and they will replace them.. OKAY? What kind of establishment are they to have the audacity to tell me to bring them back on monday? Very unprofessional and totally not service friendly when THEY made the mistake. Most places will just reimuburse without having the burden of carrynig their defect food back.

Will never be back except for my kolaches. Obviously, I'm a person who is serious about my jalepenos in my kolache.. I guess when you pay, make sure you reiterate what you ordered and maybe even take a bite into it to make sure you're walking out with the right kolache.

    !@!!

Not bad!!  Not bad at all.

Their breakfast tacos are very much on the money -- so much that at 10am on a Saturday they'd already run out of potato, egg, and cheese.  Sausage egg and cheese was still very nice.

They've got squishy sweet donuts similar to Shipley's (wouldn't say better), a pretty awesome strawberry filled donut (also blueberry, white cream, and chocolate filled), lots of cake donuts, and a plethora of different sprinkled/nut-topped donuts.

That's only what I considered getting...there's also apple fitters, cinnamon twists, breakfast biscuits, small and jumbo kolaches, and ko-sandwiches (kolache sandwiches?)  Clearly the variety is AMAZING, donuts and taco were GOOD (not omg-the-best-ever).

LAST HINT: An order of 6 doz donuts may get you a free order of donut holes ;)

Read the reviews and my Yelpers did not fail me! Yay!

You can definitely taste the freshness in the donuts. There's something different about the donuts here that I can't quite figure out but it's really good and delicious. A donut cost about $0.69 and a giant donut cost $4. Check out the pictures I took.

They also have breakfast sandwiches and tacos. All the tacos come with eggs and cheese. I tried the sausage, bacon and potato breakfast taco and I like the bacon breakfast taco the most (it was most flavorful). Each taco cost $2.25 and they were generous with their small portion. They have packaged salsa packages if you want some.

I also tried their jalapeno sausage and cheese kolache. It was really good and there was a kick to it. I recommend it if you like spicy.

Oh, I tried their chocolate donut hole and it tasted like a chocolate cake.

    Service: Very friendly
Interior: A few tables and chairs. Good for couple or small groups. TV on the wall.
Parking: Limited but lots of come and go

Beware: You'll smell like food if you dine in

This is a family own business and the service is great.  I love the breakfast Croissants bacon egg and cheese.  The bacon is crispy and cooked to perfection.  I love their powdered cake donuts and if they do not have them available they will make you some.  What a way to please your customers.  Check out the specials that they have listed on the door.  The cake donuts are good next day believe me, my eyes are bigger than my stomach....I enjoy going in there and seeing the same lady every time I go....

Used to go to Shipleys until I discovered this Bellaire gem.
Haven't tried anything but the donuts, they are so delicious and not greasy like some other places. The cinnamon twists are awesome!

OMG! The breakfast tacos are amazing!!!

Many cabanas give you wimpy tacos with a spoonful of filling. Fresh and Best Donuts LADLES THE FILLING ON!!!

I bought a dozen breakfast tacos: 4 Sausage, 4 Bacon and 4 Potato. The box I carried them in weighed at least 10 pounds.

I will never get breakfast tacos anywhere else.

    Also, their donuts look amazing.

This place is awesome. I love little donut joints like this as much, if not, more than Shipleys. Everything I've tried has been awesome (donuts, kolaches, croissants), and it's super cheap!

So what do you get when a kolache and breakfast sandwich do the nasty? You've guessed it, kolaches big bertha sister, "The Kolache Sandwich".  Let me break down this monster to you. It is your standard kolache (a whole sausage wrapped in sweet bread) and that's where the ordinary stops. Then we go down the heart burn roller coaster. They then cut the upper part of the kolache like a sandwich and fill this mofo with cheese, fried egg, and bacon.

Not only does this place carry delicious breakfast, but the owner is as sweet as pie. She is so friendly and she really treats you like family.

So if you know what's good for you, memorize these two words "Kolache Sandwich"!

We get donuts for the office from here at least once a month.

They're usually gone within 10 minutes of the box being placed in the kitchen.

When people bring in donuts from other shops near our office, there's still donuts in the box after lunch and the next day.

That should tell you everything you need to know about Fresh & Best donuts. :)

I logged on here to see if anyone had reviewed this place and apparently I am a little late on it, jk.  To start off I love donuts, kolaches, tacos, kolaches.... must I go on?  This review does not even describe how good it can get.

They have a Double stacked sausage biscuit, it was great! Simple but great!  I highly recommend this place and their donut holes, amazing!  Prefer it over dunkin donuts, my son did too.  They were coated just right with the sugar and fluffy and flavorful.

I don't know how else to describe my experience with this place except that I will be back for sure!

I wonder if they are related to the folks who run Best Donuts on Braeswood and Hillcroft?

Breakfast tacos were great, the kolache was very good too. I prefer the donuts at Best Donuts but they are very good here too.

my friend keeps ranting and raving about the breakfast tacos here.  i thought to myself: how good could breakfast tacos be from a donut shop?  when ppl say taco, i think hard, crunchy shell taco, so i was taken aback when i saw a bunch of breakfast burritos in the display case.  i got the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast "taco", and it was gone in under a minute.  i was trying to squeeze the salsa packets on this bad boy in the car, and it got ugly - there was salsa everywhere lol.  at first i tore the packet too small, so the salsa was exploding out all over the place.  the second packet i thought i'd get smart, and tore a bigger opening, but then the salsa started oozing and dripping all over the place :T  i came out of the car looking like someone threw a bunch of rotten vegetables at me.  anyway, the taco was delicious, and i don't want to talk about it anymore hahaahaha

i also decided to try a half dozen donut holes and a mini apple fritter.  i'm a big fan of shipley's, but i gotta say that i like the donut holes better here.  they're rounder and fluffier.  one of my friends had stepped out of the car, and it took everything i got to save one for her.  good thing she came back when she did, cuz it was calling to me to eat it.  the apple fritter has lots of apple cinammon flavor, and is oily and crunch - just the way i like it.  so, just like the name says, these donuts are fresh and the best ;)
