Oh Frenchy's, you're an Atlantic Canadian staple. There was a time I remember hearing about bus trips that traveled the maritime provinces from Frenchy's to Frenchy's looking for the next great find.
For those who are unfamiliar, Frenchy's is a used clothing store that has developed a huge cult following in our neck of the woods and spawned countless imitators. For some reason though, Frenchy's is in a thrift store class all its own.
This location (like all locations) is filled with bins that are filled with junk for the keen eyed shopper to sift through looking for that next great treasure at a price that is next to nothing. I can't count how many times I've gone in to Frenchy's on a whim and left with an article of clothing that has become a staple in my wardrobe (Two words: Cowboy Boots).
The stock is always changing which means a weekly stop can be crucial. You don't want to miss that next great find! The staff are pleasant, but not especially helpful. That being said, what else can they do besides ring you up and offer you a bag? It's not like you're going to shoot the breeze with the workers while you're here, the hunt is on! If you don't find what you're looking for, somebody else will. I've seen fights break out over clothes in this location, so be quick and be aggressive and enjoy the Atlantic Canadian tradition that is Frenchy's. -

This is a Halifax gem with treasures to be found throughout if you're willing to hunt for them, especially if you're looking for footwear. This location has tons of shoes and boots - TONS! You can find some great handbags here too, both new and used. In fact, they have a section in the front for new items, tags still on. Cash only.

This Frenchy's is pretty good. They have boots galore - from winter, to cowboy, to super sexy - I'm positive that you can find a boot for any occasion at this little thrift store.
Their prices are good, often better than Value Village and even the Salvation Army. The selection varies and you'll have to bin-dig to find that buried gold, but they have something for everyone. From coats, pants, dresses, to jackets and odd & ends.
If you like thrift store hopping, you should add this shop to your route map. It's pretty fun and you never know what you'll discover on your treasure hunt through the bins.Listed in: Damn, I Look Good

Frenchy's
This little gem of a location was told to me by my hairdresser when I asked where she got her slamming purse. She told me Frenchy's $30 bucks. Well you know I was going to check that out. Normally I do not like Frenchy's stores as I really don't like going through tables of cloths. She told me that this really not like that they actually have new items, tag's on as well used.
Well off I go right after I get my hair done and to my surprise I see racks of cloths along the sides, off I go. As well there are table of boots still with the tags on for like under $15 bucks nice ones.
Purses displayed at the front counter, some of the names are coach as well as XO and reasonable prices. Wallets and even some jewelry.
This is a must for all you that love to shop. Big bang for your buck. -

When I first came back to Atlantic Canada, a number of people suggested that I hit up Frenchy's because you can get some real nice stuff on sale, and plus Frenchy's is a proud Maritime tradition, so it's part of the Atlantic Canadian experience.
To start, I should say that I'm not really a thrift store kinda girl, so pardon my bias. There's just something about these places that make me want to sanitize, sanitize, sanitize (unfounded, perhaps, but true). Plus, I don't really get the time to pore through bins to find a particular item- I like to find things straight away and readily find them in my size.
That said, I'm sure that someone with patience and a keen desire for unique items would find something they like- a friend of mine always finds intrinsic, vintage pieces at places like Frenchy's, and that totally jives with her style and persona. So if you're into one-of-a kind, unique and vintage pieces, this store might be exactly what you need :)
