Had the groupon for a mani/pedi and the woman who worked on me was very talented. I think it might have been because the place was a little empty, so she took her time and it was altogether a good experience. I did feel they hurried me out a little quickly, but honestly it wasnt too bad.

The polish lasted a very long time, and the job they did on my cuticles was supurb.

Ok, so I purchased a Groupon for a friend of mine..and for myself.

Today we went to use them. Everything went well considering the "deluxe" pedicure was what we got for the $17 for $30 deal.

My experience was "eh-OK" first time I had a GUY do my pedicure...he was "ok"...a little less appealing as far as what they had to offer,  and thinking for the supposed $30 value... I thought I could get a "french pedicure"

"oOooH not included, $5.00 more"  (think vietnamese accent) I said never mind i'm okay.. i'll stick to the color.

My friend wanted the same... so she ended up asking her lady...to see what she would say.... SHE said $3.00. Then MY guy said.. "Ooh $3.00 more you want?" -- I still said no it's okay.. no biggie. HE KEPT ASKING.. trying to convince me to PAMPER MYSELF.... I already spent for the coupon and politely said - again, i'm okay.

AFTER ALL WAS SAID AND DONE.. I was a little less impressed at his handy work.. but I was ok with the outcome.. not BLOWN AWAY by the experience.. just "ok" i knew I didn't get the value I had expected. BUT MY FRIEND.. really looked like she was satisfied.

    THE KICKER!!
although overall i wasn't THAT THRILLED. I probably would've considered to get another Groupon if it ever came back....but AFTER our POST PEDICURE EXPERIENCE of actually giving them the coupon. I felt a sudden change of mind.

I had printed the 2 coupons just incase my friend forgot hers.. BUT SHE DID end up bringing it. I showed the 2 to my guy and he questioned me how many i have.. or bought.. I said 2 but the one my friend has is a DUPLICATE. same number.. i kept saying... the OTHER lady .. jumped into the conversation and said.. we need them all .. I SAID. no i just reprinted it.. there is no need to take the one my friend had.. i already was ready to GIVE the coupons.. **all in all this was the least favorite part of the experience**

That conversation went on for a good 5 mins of me trying to explain that I bought 2 but the OTHER one my friend was holding was just a duplicate.. blah blah... and she goes on to explaining to us they NEED IT because some customers try to come BACK AND USE DUPLICATE.. BLAH BLAH.. ***in that very instant.. I FELT LIKE SHE WAS ACCUSING ME & MY FRIEND OF COMING BACK TO TRY TO GET A DOUBLE USE OF THAT REPRINTED COUPON!!!***

i'm 8 months pregnant..and this was really disturbing... I insisted that  I don't plan to COME BACK --WITH THAT SAME COUPON!!! now I THINK I SHOULD JUST SAY "I DON'T PLAN TO COME BACK"

already I felt BAD.. she tried to explain herself again as if it was right for her to repeat and i was going to be OOooh ok i get it.. but no she THEN INSISTED THAT I TEAR UP THAT REPRINTED COUPON IN FRONT OF HER.. WTF!! I was clearly offended... and just didn't care to do as she requested (though she could've done it herself)

THE GUY then just WROTE OVER IT and said.. that it was a simple misunderstanding...AFTER 5 MINS OF TRYING TO EXPLAIN!!!

    OVERALL:
IF THEY ARE READING THIS.. WE WILL NOT COME BACK! the deal did not have the WOW FACTOR IN REAL LIFE... it's not worth it. they give you the actual $17 value of the Groupon.. and not the $30

the SECOND STAR was just because my friends session was actually better than mine...and i'm just being nice to the guy that helped me.

I'M SURE THERE ARE WAY BETTER SALONS.. I think they just got really desperate with the Groupon deal and knew people would purchase it.....DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE GAS.

    BOOOOooooooooOOO TO THE Q!! :P

I bought this as a groupon deal and went in for a deluxe pedicure. I saw reviews for bad shellac manicures but good in general for the salon, however I was quite disappointed.

I made appointments for 11am for my two friends and me and we were there on time. To make a long story short, we had to wait half an hour for two of us to be seated and one friend had to wait until 11:45. In addition, two other women walked in to the salon and were seated before us. When asked why, there was no clear reason and not once did they apologize when we expressed our displeasure.

Not only that, I find them to be quite disorganized in there service as well. We had wrote down deluxe pedicure on the sign in sheet yet they gave my friend a spa pedicure instead (although they then allowed her to to a manicure instead- but she wanted a deluxe pedicure). My friend who was seated at 11:45 was treated quite rudely by her manicurist.

About the pedicure itself: the callus removal, pumic treatment, paraffin wax treatment, and massage were nice, but the actual nail painting was horrible. She kept putting layers when the polish was too wet and she had to redo my big toes FOUR times. Although I allowed plenty of time for drying, when I put on socks 2 hours later, the pedicure was ruined. My toenails look worse than if I had down myself at home.

Bottom Line: I will not be returning. I think what happened here is that with over 700 groupons sold, they were overwhelmed with customers. It seems as though they decided to go quantity over quality. I don't think they know the meaning of appointment or customer service. Disorganized and the you walk out looking no different than if you had painted your nails at home, or worse.

I created this yelp account just so I can let people know that what I just experienced is NOT OK.

My cousin and I decided to get a pedicure done a little later in the day. We arrived at the salon at 6:20pm. As per their online information and hours listed on the door, they close at 7pm.
So, me and my cousin walk in and two of the ladies that work there are in the pedicures chairs getting their toes done by two of their co-workers, and one is sitting at a manicure table. When we walk in,  all of the ladies turn their heads to stare at us. My cousin and I wait there, expecting to be greeted...but alas! only silence ensued. I say hello and they continue to just stare at me. My cousin says hello and still no response... mind you, it is dead silent in the place, they are all staring at us. Awkward.

I continue to ask if they are closed and the lady at the manicure table says yes, they close at 7. I am like ummmm it's only 6:20? She tells me that they take their last appointments at 6:30. I tell her AGAIN that is is 6:20. And they just stare at us! They pointedly kept looking at us and looking at the sign where the hours are the whole time and at the door. Finally we left, seeing as these horrible little asian ladies could just stare at us all night giving us attitude and NOT giving us a 30 minute pedicure for our money. All of which would have left them with a spare ten minutes to close up shop at their designated closing time.

I mean really? If you close at 6:30, you should at least have the decency to correct your business information on your store window and online sites.

When I am willing to spend good gas money to come to your business to spend more money, don't you think you should respect the fact people like me make your occupation possible?

We were treated in such a rude fashion that I will be telling everyone I know to stay far, far away from such an establishment that would treat their customers this way.

Bought the Groupon and almost threw it away after reading the reviews on here..but since I already paid $17 and my poor toes already looked jacked, what really can go wrong? Took my chances and had a good experience.  I think because of the Groupon craze, they took on a huge influx of customers and quality went down the drain.  Not an excuse....but it explains it. Nonetheless,  I got to the shop at 12:30pm and there were only 2 other patrons there. My lady wasn't rushed because no.one was waiting. Ultimately,my toes are happy and I'm happy!

When I first heard about Shellac manicures I wasn't aware that a lot of nail salons offer this service. So my friend said to try this place because they do these kinds of manicures here (thinking they must be one of the few that do so in San Diego).

It's located on Poway Road right before you really head inland. It's a nice nail salon, pretty clean, ample parking.

Service however was not so great. I'm vietnamese and most time the employees don't realize it or don't ask. So I can understand everything they're saying. I showed up around 4pm and it was dead. There were 2 girls working and they argued over who had to help me. Wow. I was already put off, but still decided to get my nails done here.

I picked a neutral color for my manicure and they started working. The reason why I would say to avoid this place is because my manicure started to crack within a week. Shellac is supposed to stay on for 3 weeks at least, especially if done correctly. For my first time, I wasn't impressed. And it's $35. I guess that's the norm around town but so not worth it if it's going to crack within a week.

The worst place I have ever been. Manicure & pedicure -  terrible job. Waxing - even worse - could not clean the left over wax from my legs for 3 days, don't know what kind of wax they're using but this has never happened before in other places.
Awful service - the whole time they were doing my nails they were shouting at each other very loudly in their language, I had a headache after.

WORST pedi / half mani I've EVER had. Lesson learned - look to yelp before buying Groupon. If I could give no stars, I would!

I spent 2 hours and 15 minutes in the salon and left with a pedicure that was supposed to be a french pedicure (white tips were not straight, and edges weren't crisp/clean) and no polish on my nails (decided to leave before she even tried to attempt a french manicure).

Pedicure: water was cold, there was absolutely no foot/calf massage, she cut my toenails and didn't file them (I didn't notice at the time or I would've said something) so when she painted the white tips it looked terrible against the jagged edges.

'Half' Manicure: water was cold, no hand/arm massage, again when cutting my nails she didn't file them. This time, I asked her to please file...which she did, but they were still lopsided and uneven.

Came home and had to redo my toes and paint my own nails. VERY disappointing when the whole point was I wanted to pamper myself. Don't waste your time or money going to this place.

**I have never posted anything on yelp, but I feel so passionate about warning others I signed up just so I could post this!

My friends and I bought the Groupon, so we all went to get our nails and toes done. We booked the earliest appointment, which was at 9am. After arriving we were put in the spa chairs to do our toes. We all sat next to each other. After starting, I felt like my lady was rushed since there were other customers. She had to keep getting up to pick up the phone or talk to the walk-ins. Even though, she started AFTER my one friend's lady, she finished way before her. They did our mani right on the spa chairs so we could stay close to each other to talk. She didn't completely filed my nails, therefore I wasn't too happy about my mani. The massages on both my legs and arms were mediocre and short. Since I had my flats and no sandals, they gave me the cheap sandals to wear, so I was happy about that. Overall, the service was okay, but wish it was better.

If I could select No stars I would. Ive been to in house out house upscale low scale from west coast, south coast (texas), to east coast five star to no star nail places this was by super far the worst. I only went because I had a groupon but but even that was paying too much. The place was clean except for the bowl they tried to put a girl in a few chairs down from me with nail clippings floating in the water. The shoty job the lady did on my nails I could have saved myself the gas and done it at home, she hardly trimmed my t.nails and kept messing up the nail polish and to top it off some of my nails are completely covered w/ nail polish. I say if u bought the groupon and its too late gift it to someone you dont like they will get the message after u send them to nails by q.

I used a groupon for my first visit here. It took almost two hours for a spa mani and pedi. My nail polish was already fading at the tips the same evening. My hands and feet were not cleaned very well, cuticles not removed, didn't clean under the nails, base coat skipped on my feet. The lady was very slow and toward the end of my service, mentioned to me it was her first day.

My best advice is to AVOID THIS PLACE.  I have had acrylic nails on for the majority of the time since 1977 and this is the WORST set I have ever been given - every nail had a serious issue.

Examples - all the surfaces were rough and bumpy, white product under and at the tip of the nail, white clouds under the pink product, product overlapping the cuticle, product not even coming close to the end of the nail bed, uneven nail length, hills and valleys and product so thick my fingers felt heavy.

When she was ready to put on the Gel, when I knew she was done, that's when I pulled the plug and they charged my $30.00 for wasting 2 hours of my time not to mention the cost to have them removed and re done at another salon.

AGAIN, AVOID THIS PLACE - you will most likely be disappointed.   I had to give this ONE star to post - but in reality this place deserves a MINUS 10!

I just moved to the poway area and was looking for a new nail salon. I yelped a couple of places and stumbled upon this place. Bad idea. I read all of the reviews and was confident that I was going to be blown away. I heard about the new product shellac and wanted to try it so I went In to get that and a pedi. When I arrived I sat in the chair and the lady started doing my nails. She did not know what she was doing. The lines on my French manure were not straight and it was an overall sloppy job. Im never one to be rude but I just could not accept the hideous job she did so I requested that she do them again the next day. Another lady told me that the owner Q would be there the next day and she would redo my nails. The next day I came back and the owner was not even there and the same lady attempted to do my nails again. This time I asked her to do acrylic. Let me tell u this is the most horrible nail job I've ever had.

The only decent thing I can say is that the place is clean and my pedi is decent. Maybe the owner is the only one that really knows how to do nails but I know one thing, I'm never going to waste $65 on this place again!!!!

Had the french nails done in silver for the holiday. Received many compliments. Artwork done is excellent quality and the flowers were beautiful. Can hardly wait for the summer to be able to wear sandals and show off the pedicure.

This salon is alright. I was referred here so I expected a better job. I came here on my birthday and had my first shellac done. The product is amazing, but it wasn't polished on very well. The lady who did my nails seemed like she didn't really know what she was doing because she kept coating just certain parts of the nail that she missed making it thicker just on that part. My cuticles were also not cut properly. Overall I really wasn't satisfied when I left. There were bubbles on most of my nails and to top it off, as I was driving I noticed one of my nails had bumps and I usually let things go, but I couldn't do it that day considering it was my birthday so I went back and asked her to re-do it. She was very nice about it, but I don't think I'll be coming back here again. They do have tons of shellac colors, which is great, but if you decide to try this place out, make sure you get what you paid for.
