Review from Squinka C.
Yeah so I spent alot of time on uh *Johnson* Street : / when I visited Victoria,
I like it there. That street is good for my skin.
dude,
I got a facial, but not like that. (besides, that would be a waste of shoe polish)
I was walking down the street on a grey day in a sad mood and saw a sign that said "Free Spirit". Since I felt lIke Imprisoned Meatmush, it seemed worth a trip inside. I stepped into their cozy little store and learned that they make most of their bodycare products.from locally grown flowers and herbs. And the most enchanting samples were their essential oils. When I found out they offered massages and facials, I signed up to have my meatmush slathered in lavender. I might still feel bad, but I was going to smell GOOD. All Over. I decided on a lavender facial and an essential oil massage. My sad cadaver perked up a bit, it's tattered chest heaved a tiny bit of herb infused hope.
I walked down two doors to their little downstairs spa. My lovely massage therapist used many skintastic elixirs, but my fave was the organic Lavender oil made from lavender grown right there in Victoria, B.C. Herbs from different areas really do have different characteristics. This oil smelled like a gorgeous soft fragrant meadow on a sunny day in the spring. Like purple trees in May. Since it was actually a drizzly grey cooooohhhld day in February this was some purple spell she cast.
You can order the oils online http://www.freespiritb...
and while they don't send the lovely spa girl, the scents will make you very sniffable and rub-worthy. you know like every street might could be be JOHNSON Street.

Review from Melissa L.
Calgary, AB
I have been a customer of Free Spirit Botanicals for years. It started downtown one day about eight years ago, when I was working at my summer job in a clothing store. A customer walked in smelling lovely, and I asked about her perfume. It turned out she had been sampling essential oils at Free Spirit Botanicals... but the real purpose of her visit there was to buy their Gardener's Hand Cream. She then opened her shopping bag and revealed to me about ten jars of Free Spirit Botanical's Gardener's Hand Cream. She raved about it for a few minutes, and I stopped by after work that day to buy my own bottle. I've been an avid user ever since, slathering (or dabbing, it depends!) the all-natural, homemade cream on everything from cuts to acne to dehydrated skin (sounds counter-intuitive, I know, but it works!). It really is a cure-all. Over the years I became loyal to their salt scrubs as well- they're the only thing that gets me (and my skin!) through the cold Alberta winters, and the only thing I've found that works better is a thorough scrub-down by a naked, elderly Turkish lady in Istanbul. There are lots of stores on "LoJo" (Lower Johnson Street) that sell beauty products, but Free Spirit Botanicals is the ONLY one that I would ever recommend.
