As many of you are well aware - I am a pizza snob.
My rule of thumb: if the pizza is worthy enough, I will eat every morsel; crust included.

My beau, being the pizza advocate that he is, took me here this past Friday night.  My nose was at first stuck in the air and then my nostrils opened to inhale the amazing smells that soon followed after our entrance.

When walking into this place, think of that local pizzeria that you and your friends used to hangout in after school.  Remember how the neighbors would sit outside on the porch and keep tabs on the kids passing by?  This is THE pizza place!

Well preserved to keep that nostalgic local pizzeria charm, you can't help but wonder how good the pizza is gonna taste.  Decorated with wooden Italian puppets, Italian sayings on plaques, and exposed bricks along the walls.  Nothing fancy to mask the main event - the variety of homemade pizzas.

We settled on the spinach and artichoke pizza slice, a stromboli slice, and a chicken parm slice.  Each slice was LOADED with toppings up to the crust on a bed of a thin, crisp, dough.  NO GREASE!  THANK YOU FRANK'S!!! NO OILY GREASE!!!

The favorite of the night?  The chicken parm!  It's so unsuspecting, that you'd think this would only be a runner up; DON'T be fooled!

    Sit, eat, and enjoy!

Best Grandma Pie in all of Dyker/Bay Ridge, hands down.

I know Krispy is right down the street and actually closer to our apartment but the Grandma at Frank's can't be beat.  The veggie slice is also really good.  Haven't had their meals but I'll never get tired of their pizza :-)

The guys here are also super sweet - the one day I forgot they didn't take credit cards and had almost no cash on me so the guy said "Don't worry about it!!" I promised I would bring him the money the next day and true to my word, I did.

Been here several times for slices and rolls. They have great pizza, nice crispy crust and good sauce. The chicken roll was good too. Wish I could get this kind of great pizza in jersey.

I recently rediscovered this place and I've been coming back more than twice a week since. This is the only margherita slice I've found whose crust is not only edible, but enjoyable. That's how good their dough is. Their sauce is perfectly balanced, there's not too much cheese but there's just enough parmigiano to keep it nice and salty. Overall this place bakes a mean pie in those brick ovens. Relatively un-surly guys behind the counter as well (as opposed to Krispy) and seems clean (unlike DIRTY ASS Sorentina).

My sister tells me that their bolognese hurt her stomach, but I can only speak for their baked goods.

This used to be my neighborhood pizzeria when I lived in Brooklyn. And even though there are two other pizzerias within a five block radius, I still think it's the best one in Dyker Heights. Great pizza, down-to-earth people who serve you with alacrity and a smile, and a generally good atmosphere.

There is a guy, who evidently works there, with a permanently disfigured hand and some sort of severe eye problem that forces him to wear sunglasses. He's a very ominous presence, and the one time he touched the inside of the pizza box I was waiting for I was extremely aggravated. Aside from that, I don't have any real complaints.

OMG Dyker Heights has got the best brick oven pizzas. The people who work there are so nice and it makes me proud to call this neighborhood my home. This was my hangout spot with my friend way back when we were still @ Dyker Heights Intermediate School.

The people are very down to earth and this pizzeria practically symbolizes what I think Dyker Heights is all about. I'm totally willing to pay more for pizza at local Bensonhurst pizzerias rather than getting those offers for $5 pizzas at Dominos/ Papa John's. Why get pizzas from chains if you can get the authentic stuff?

Anything you eat here is incredible. It's probably the best italian food in Brooklyn! Addicted to the sweets they sell here.

Frank's Pizza -- a nice place to visit.

    1. Place has good food, good pizza and a large variety of soft drinks.
    2. Polite service (no waiters, just bring it to your table, but behind the counter workers are generally polite and professional).
    3.  As pizza prices go , they are in the general area of average.
    4. Good experience.  Nice take out place.

    5. For eat in--it is a little bit busy at times, so if you are looking for quiet and cozy this is  not the place . (It is right next to two city bus stops on the corner of busy 13th Avenue in Brooklyn).

    6. For take out, it's good, good hot pizza at reasonable prices.

    7. On Halloween night it is a festive place as lots of people and kids go in there in full costume.  This is a good area for trick or treating, walk up and down 13th Avenue in Brooklyn, and you'll see all the costumes, hear some good music and just have a nice, natural and safe halloween.

Went here for a slice of pizza on a late Sunday afternoon.  I felt like it was your typical pizzeria slice for $2.25.  It was good pizza, better than some of the more cheaper places but not gourmet unique.  I enjoyed it and would probably come back again if I am in the Brooklyn area.

My friend says its a place frequented by all the locals.  :)  That is always a good sign.

    I called for delivery yesterday.

    1) The person on the phone spoke coherant english and was helpful.
    2) My order was exactly what I ordered and I was able to wake up in the morning and eat it cold without complaining.

a bit intimidating because it's always so full in there but a good place to get your pizza :) I loved the vegetable slice.

best rice balls & pie pizza i've ever had.

(highly suggest the fresh mozz, it's all i ever get)

literally ordered franks today, cause i woke up craving pizza. probably gonna go eat the left overs right now.

whether you're eating in or getting delivery, the service is great. very nice people, and the food is really consistently delicious.

just bring cash! no cards. my chase bank branch is right up the street, and if there is ever any reason for me to walk up there, going past franks without getting anything is blasphemy.

    will always ALWAYS go back!

Unlike the other folks who wrote reviews for Frank's, I primarily order delivery from them. They're always fast and friendly and the person who seems to always answer the phone is cheery and polite. I like a lot of toppings on my pie yet the crust is never soggy.

The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because they always seem to be out of the spinach and broccoli knots. Other than that, I'm happy to have found this gem in a neighborhood full of pizza joints.

The pizza is good! Brick oven! The plain one is just alright, but their spinach mozz is really good! He added Italian sausage on a plain slice for me, and my dad thought it was weird.

The guy thought we were $0.75 short when I actually paid the dollar. I wonder if he felt stupid when he cleared the machine and saw a $1 under the $5 :)

    Besides that, it's good.

I've come in here a couple of times when I was in the area for a slice.  The Grandma's is my personal favorite.  Their slice has a good amount of both sauce and cheese.  I personally think their slice is a little less oily then some other joints.  Service is usually friendly, it's one of those grab your slice and a table kinda places which is cool.

I noticed recently that I tend to only review food spots, and only ones that I really like at that.  I seem to get inspired to write about a place when I get home and I am still thinking about how yummy whatever I just ate was. I was inspired again tonite.
Lucky for me, I recently started taking Jiu Jitsu classes right down the block from Frank's. I've only been there after class around 10 or so and it isn't ever crowded at that time, which is awesome for me. The grandma's slice and the garlic knots are the only things I have had so far. The slice was one of the best Grandma slices I have had in this city so far. It's super garlicky, and the sauce is light and really delicious. The crust is airy and crispy and golden.mmmmmmm, i'm wishing I had taken a slice home now :(
I liked the garlic knots too They didn't skimp on the garlic on these either and the dough wasn't too heavy. I like Frank's.
