History
Established in 1981
Established over thirty years ago in the main floor of a house on Windsor Avenue, Foxgloves gained a reputation of providing creative arrangements using only the highest quality product.
From this location, Foxgloves was moved to the Athalone Court on Hampshire into a retail outlet. At that time, Foxgloves Flowers was called "Foxgloves-The Oak Bay Flower Shop".
Foxgloves had many successful years at this location, and in 1996 the owner at the time split the name of the shop and brought Foxgloves into the downtown market at G4 1001 Douglas in Sussex Place.
In 2001 Foxgloves Flowers was purchased by the present owner, Colleen O'Farrell, and moved, once again, to "Lower Johnson" in the heart of old town Victoria.
Now nine years later, in the spring of 2010, Colleen has moved Foxgloves back to its roots and into a private studio setting. Still focusing on the day-to-day telephone and internet orders, corporate and wedding events, Foxgloves has new life in its fresh new location.
Meet the Business Owner: Colleen O.
In January 2000, with a fine arts degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, several years of experience working for other florists, some business courses under her belt, and a solid personal support network, Colleen O'Farrell was ready to start her own floral business.
She found a flower shop that was for sale in downtown Victoria, and hasn't looked back.
She has won the commercial floral design competition at the Victoria Flower and Garden Show, has been featured in in numerous magazines and television spots.
"I love what I do," Colleen says, "and I feel really lucky to have found my passion."
