Review from Theresa Marie S.
New York, NY
This place gets an automatic 5 stars from me because anywhere that puts on a New York Rangers game for me in Seattle - is a GOD. After a full day of shopping and doing a few touristy things around the city - I remembered that I had a Rangers playoff game in a little less than an hour. I searched around via Yelp app to find a nearby sports bar and low and behold - I found FOX. I was ecstatic to go down to the bar, get some beer, and some food, and watch the game.
I asked the bartender if I could get the pizza that with just pesto and cheese, and he was super nice enough to order it for me just the way that I wanted it! It was delicious! Pesto pizza doesn't always come out so good because of the high oil count, but this was pretty darn perfect to me.
Prices are reasonable. Staff was friendly.
All around a great experience at FOX! -

Service here is SLOW and the food is mediocre at best.
It took us an hour and a half to get in and out during lunch today. There were only 4 of us, no appetizers or deserts, just entrees.
I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of corn. The sandwich description said that it came with pickle chips. I don't like pickles, but I assumed pickle chips would be on the side cause they are chips. It actually just means regular ordinary pickles are in the sandwich. The corn was tasty, but about as plain as corn can get.
Anyways, not really a place to rave about. It was super cheap though! My sandwich + 2 corn on the cobs was like $10. -

8p on a Saturday night and this place is......mostly empty?? I guess word has gotten around.
We stopped in because it got in our way while walking off dinner from the hotel. Decided to go in and have a drink and watch some of the Mariner's game.
You walk in to a small, uninhabited dining room...what?? Oh, sign says to go downstairs. Ok, we find the bar and fortunately the Mariners game is on the largest of the screen. Other TVs are tuned to.....a bio-history of Russian athletics? Oh, someone finally turned that TV to the NBA playoffs...nice. So, a "sports" bar, and no one is paying attention to ensure there are live sports on? Huh.
We stayed for one cocktail and left. The little couch seating was sorta comfortable, until I started thinking about what prolly happens on couches when you mix the general public and alcohol.
This place just had a real "dead" feel....again, at 8p on a Saturday. -

Save your money and mosey on to another block of town, or at the very least, go a few doors down to the Tap House.
You walk into this place and you are in an empty dining room, with stairs that lead down to the place where all the action is. I guess our first clue should have been the poor homeless guy begging for money inside of the said dining room as we entered. No staff up there, no security... Not saying anything about the homeless - he was actually polite - but it seemed odd that he could roll of of his belongings and carts into this supposedly classy establishment and ask patrons for money, unnoticed by staff.
This place was packed on a Saturday night, with sports fans watching the....what? Kansas vs. Ohio basketball game on the one large screen?? In SEATTLE with the SOUNDERS game going? That alone was weird to me.
Drinks were eh...so so...and a beer was over $6 for a pint. BUT, what really has me giving this place a big thumbs down was the food. We finally got a table for our party of 6 after waiting with a pager for over an hour. It took quite a long time for the server to notice us, but she was friendly and she did eventually take our order. At least 30 minutes after placing our order, the waitress informed us that they were "out" of the entree that two of us had wanted. Hmpf. Well, that's annoying. They were also "out" of a drink that the lady next to me in the bar had ordered.
We RE-ordered, and waited another 30 minutes for our food to show up....COLD. It was like everything else just sat on a table while the other two of our orders were cooked. Nachos were cold - as in not even warm - and DOUSED in BBQ sauce and sour cream. It stills makes me nauseated thinking about it the next day. When the server rounded again, we informed him that our food was cold, to which he acknowledged and seemed to already know! WHAT? Not only do you serve crap, but you serve cold crap?? Ugh!
Burgers were decent. My friend's fish tacos were sloppy and tasteless. I can't remember what anyone else ordered, so that alone tells me it wasn't anything that looked too impressive.
Just don't go here. It's full of college d-bags who are yelling obscenities, including anti-gay rants.....Um, hello? It's 2012... Who tolerates that? Oh, and a very drunk girl was allowed to stand on two bars stools to take pictures that she clearly had a hard time getting into focus. Time to go... -
Review from J N.
Actually a pretty decent place for a work get together with a private room and yummy pub style buffet fare including chicken wings, ribs, potato skins, and other fatty disgusting items that will expand your waistline but taste awesome after consuming numerous alcoholic beverages.
The wine wasn't exactly the greatest, but at a sports bar, what can you expect? I would definitely return with a group, but I'm not sure if I would be in a rush to return with a smaller party. But part of the reason for that is I have no recollection as to where to find this place, either. :)
The pool tables were quite busy, and actually, the whole place seemed to look better and better as the night progressed.
And a note to my American friends: you have no idea how lucky you are with your double-the-amount wine pours. I can't say the same for your weak beer, however. -
Review from Dana D.
Save your time, this place is like a dungeon, literally. The main restaurant area is downstairs. It's difficult to watch a game here too because it's overly crowded. I can't seem to figure out why people come to this place.

Review from Tiger C.
Place is great for watching sports, not the most TVs but sufficient for the big games. Best thing here is the sampler, just an assortment of guy's guy's food. They got pool tables, bowling alley like thing, and a nice atmosphere. Service is consistent, and definitely easy to get to in the Westlake area.
Superbowl here was wild, just kept ordering more food and drink, and more and more. Also, watched the All Star weekend here, where it was a much tamer crowd, but the energy of this place is popping consistently. -
Review from Jovana F.
Great place to watch local games and drink beer. Beware, if you're watching a non-local team, then there's a chance that they will change the channel in the middle of your game. The pool tables are decent. I'd stay away from fancy drinks. The food menu is typical bar food. the steak salad is my favorite, second the wings, and third the Buffalo chicken sandwich

Saturday during March Madness and it's St Patricks day! In town for conference, we needed a bite while watching the games. Nachos were very good, chili was average. I had the French dip for dinner which hit the spot considering I hadnt eaten in about 12 hours. Overall average dinner and service. After dinner a couple of us moved to the bar and the Guiness was very good. Only thing was the small screens were a little too small for the distance they are from the seating.

Pretty good food and great service. Our server was quick & got our order right (even though he didnt write it down, i am very impressed that he could remember my picky wife's order!) I think a lot of people come during big sporting events and are not use to that type of crowd. My wife loves spinach artichoke dip & really liked the one they had & her salad was a good size & filling. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich & it was good. The fries were especially good! Happy hour is a good time to go.

Came through Seattle for a short time. Had to find a spot to watch my Niners play New Orleans in the Divisional Round.
Glad I came here. I can't comment on the food (which looked and smelled great) as I didn't have any. But the digs are pretty nice and comfortable, relaxed. Lot of TV's and when it's busy like that it had a great atmosphere. The staff was nice and brought the beer you asked for (great selection too)
Definitely a great spot for game day. Big games, Get their early with your group and you could feel like you're having a catered party if you are lucky enough to snag space on the couches and lounge style chairs in one of their back rooms just a bit off from the bar. -
Review from Jenn N.
Beautiful and spacious on the inside! The atmosphere was friendly, the staff were nice, and lots of seating. There is one huge big screen on the wall mounted near the bar with many little tvs next to it.
There are bar foods as well as entrees. Lots of drinks to choose from and like 20 different beers on tap. -

The management here is actually very responsive to all of their negative feedback. They have a new menu and a new chef and are improving overall quality and crreating a more customer-centric service.
I applaud their effort and will be by next year to try the food again.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Stayed downtown last weekend and needed a spot to catch the ppv UFC. Got here right when the matches started. The place was packed. I found a bar stool in the back room with the couches. Nice place with plenty of tv's. Beers were also decent price. They charged $10 cover for the UFC matches though.

This place is pretty cool. The bottom is like a sports cave with food comparable to most sports bar and grills. This place has a little extra with the arena TVs set up around the bar, and some pool tables to hit for happy hours, etc
Location is primo, but bad for parking
There is a MASSIVE burger listed on the menu that is intriguing -

FOX Sports Grill is about everything you'd expect from a franchised, monolith of a sports bar. The beer is cold and they have a ton of televisions, but that's about where the fun stops. The two servers we had were effective and, judging from their apathetic nature, hated their jobs. The decor lacked character and had a plastic, sticky feel to just about every surface. The food was visibly greasy and gave us tummy aches a candy loving four year old would envy. I feel sorry for the girl who was clearly overdressed for her first date at a sports bar.

AWFUL food. A $4 order of onion rings will buy you... 4 onion rings. The type of rings where the entire onion comes out when you take a single bite, and you're left with a bunch of fried crap in your hand.
Bartender was so snarky. If it weren't for the Laker game, we definitely would have left without even sitting down. -

Yep, its another bar/grill whatever.. Can't seem to stay away from these.. IN the event that I come across a place that has great eats for cheap, I might as well share it with the world right? lol! anyway..
1. Ambiance: Can't go wrong, its FOX sports after all. So lots of space, lots of sport deco, TV's everywhere and plenty to keep the eyes busy. 5/5
2. Service: Quick. We were seated quickly and the first round of beers made it to the table before the guys went into a frenzy. 5/5
3. Food: I got the French Dip.. (one of my favs) with the shoestring fries (potatoes are the best starch ever!). The size of my meal was awesome.. Just the right amount. Enough for me to take some home. The guys on the other hand, had weird half sandwiches, that begged me to ask if someone in the kitchen had bitten a couple bites off.. They looked smaller than a normal "half". Meh. See the picture above for what I mean. 3/5
4. Price: Its a little higher up than most places, but considering the name on the place, i shouldnt have been surprised. The beers were a tad on the pricey side, and the food was so so as well. 3/5
Overall Feeling: I would come back here. But only if I really needed to get to a place to watch a game. Its not up there in my top places to go. But. Its still certainly nice. 3/5Comment from Lewil S. of FOX Sports Grill 4/7/2011

Came here to watch the Huskies play in their game against Georgia a few days ago and outside of the Huskies winning, the experience at this restaurant was less than satisfactory.
My friends and I agreed to meet up here en masse (we were expecting at least a dozen people to meet up with us to watch the game). The downtown location was central since many of us work around the area. Three of us arrived around 5pm to stake out seating for the 6:45pm game. We went downstairs and the bar area was full so we located two booths in the relatively empty dining section of the restaurant.
Almost immediately, we had several staff members come up to us and politely suggest that we couldn't sit there if our entire party hadn't arrived yet. We told them that they were on their way and that there was plenty of seating all around the restaurant. Nobody was waiting on a table so we figured it was okay - yet our server, the hostess and what I presume to be the manager appeared annoyed?
I don't get it, we told them we had a dozen people showing up within 30 minutes and we'd all be hungry/thirsty - and the rest of your establishment was barely full?
I had the BLT and substituted the fries for steamed broccoli. For $10-$12 it was okay. Your standard bar fare - nothing special but certainly good enough to pass. Maybe a bit heavy on the mayo...
Our server didn't always come back to check on our two booths and she also seemed to get confused about who ordered what. There were at least a few instances in which she'd come back with our beers but would just lay them out on the table rather than giving each of us our order. We're mostly Asian - maybe we all look the same to her and it was too difficult to distinguish a Korean guy from a Chinese guy from a Vietnamese guy from an Indian guy from an Irish guy?
The TV that was closest to us was broadcasting some college hockey game and when a friend of mine approached the waitress and asked if it was alright to switch to the Huskies, she told him it was broken. I went up to the hostess and she told me that someone else was watching the game and that they might change it later. Two different answers to the same basic question... c'mon.
Just disappointing overall - I understand the place can get busy during March Madness but more staff should have been on hand then. They rang up our orders wrong, were consistently sloppy/rude, and to boot - they actually had the audacity to ask another group of people to vacate their seats because they didn't use up all 5 chairs...
Edit - also forgot to mention that it took the staff way to long to check up on whether one of their dishes was suitable for a friend of mine (food allergies) and we weren't given water, nor did they provide silverware unless asked?Comment from Lewil S. of FOX Sports Grill 7/18/2011

We came here to watch the UFC ($10 cover) and the food was actually better than expected. The bar was really loud with some rowdies but I guess that is to be expected. We got a pound of hot wings (all drums - 8 of them), the fish tacos and the shrimp diablo. All of them were mug better than expected. The server wasn't great. I had a tea and he just brought a cup of hot water, no cream or sugar and he didn't refill my cup without hot water. He also didn't bring napkins when we ordered wings. Nothing huge to complain about but one of those things most servers would do. I would go back for another UFC for sure.

My wife and I got there on a Saturday a few minutes after they opened. We walked in and there was no host so we walked towards overhang and asked one of the employees a floor below us if the restaurant was open. He seemed rude and told us that we had to come down. We came down and were seated by the host who was stationed far away from the entrance. Our server was very nice but the service was very slow due to him being the only one serving tables (the other server apparently didn't show up for work).
We ordered the buffalo shrimp appetizer and some pasta with sausages, bowtie pasta, and an overbearing amount of mustard seeds. The buffalo shrimp was pretty good but paying about $10 for 10 popcorn sized shrimp is a rip off. The pasta came out and it seemed the chef's hand had a Michael J Fox moment when it came to mustard time because usually I never send anything back to the kitchen... not the case this time. They diluted it with cream but it was still overbearing. My wife and I had some stomach problems later on in the day.
So we had a bad experience here. Maybe it was just our timing but we wouldn't come back here again. -

Now we're talking.
I came back to Fox after a pretty bad experience. I'm a sucker for second chances... I was pleasantly surprised by the service, the freshness of the food we ordered, and loved the feel of the hearty bar food with a nice evening game on in front of me.
This time I sat in the lounge near the bar, which added to my experience. There are larger TV's and a more lively spirit near the bar (makes sense). I came in with the after Seahawks game rush, which was a fun time to make an appearance.
I taste tested the Philly Cheesesteak, Sliders, Chili, and a nice salad. Ahhh, relief. I'm not going to tell you that the food is something to write home about, but it is classic American Bar Food, which is what you should want when coming here.
A-Wee Bit about the food-
The philly was damn good. The meat was tender and did not represent rubber trips of meat like phillys normally do. This one had a nice greasy quality with a crispy bun; just what I could have asked for. The salad was fresh and had a nice light quality that complimented the heavier meat dishes. Candied pecans, blue cheese, and pear. Simple. Classic. The sliders were just OK. The bun was nice, but the patties were a little small, and the onions and aioli could have been more pronounced. The chili was hearty and meaty - Great for a cold night.
For an evening game, or sunday afternoon, I would definitely come back to Fox for the hearty, meaty, greasy bar food.

Counters were sticky and groudy and for a sports bar not very sporty about putting the Monday night game on the TV. They were watching tennis. Not as good of a selection of wine or beer and typical bar food. Taphouse is a few doors down and they had happy hour prices.

Review from Mindee W.
We met up with some friends last Friday night here. I first discovered it when I went to the Tap House the previous week and saw this place next door, read the reviews and thought it might be cool to check out. My boyfriend and I are big sports fans so I can definitely appreciate the fact that they have giant TV's. They have a decent beer selection, and their cocktails are great! Mixed very well, and a great deal on them during happy hour. Overall, I'd say this is a good place to stop by.
However - the food is highly disappointing. We ordered a few different things around the table and I would have to say that all five of us were let down in the quality of the food, apart from the fantastic Kobe Beef Burger, it is probably one of the best I've had, the blue cheese chips were pretty good too. The buffalo chicken sliders were extremely dry, the fries were not fully cooked and felt almost raw. Nachos were pretty plain and did not have hardly any toppings on them.
Next time we go it will be to watch baseball, or football games. We will have drinks but probably stay away from the food, unless its the Kobe Burger. Our server was awesome as well as the bartender. -

This place was a little deceptive, because from the street level it looks really small and empty, but you have to go downstairs to get to where the party is! We went here with a group of about 10 people for happy hour. I thought it was really good!! Granted we weren't there to watch any particular sporting event, the place was still pretty full. The service was 5 stars!! They were very attentive and even split our checks without one complaint. I had a beer, happy hour burger and sweet potato fries for $10 total. That's awesome!! The great thing about this place is that it's not too noisy with drunken people that you can't have a conversation. I hear that if you're here during non-happy hour it can be a bit pricy. I'd definitely go back! The happy hour is from 4 - 7.

So... we never even ate there.
Here's our pick... Giants were on (vs. Phillies) for Game 6 of NLCS. We figured that since they were being televised on FOX that FOX Sports Grill would be showing the game. But just in case, I called ahead and asked. And the girl at the front desk says, "Yes! Of course we're playing the game." (as if I was a loser to even ask).
So we get there and... NO GIANTS game. It was all college football. Can we say DISAPPOINTED??? So we ran out of there and went 2 doors down to Tap House Grill.
Sorry FOX Sports Grill. To be fair, we didn't stay long enough to get the real vibe... and you know what? It's ok if you chose not the play the Giants game... but don't tell people that you are! -

I was here to watch the UW/Nebraska football game while I waited to check in at the Roosevelt Hotel. This has got to be one of the better places downtown to watch a sporting event on TV. TVs? Oh yeah, they have a ton of them! The Husky/Husker game was featured on the BIG screen. It was a rather lively crowd as there were as many Husky fans as Husker fans.
I drank/ate the Bloody Marys for brunch. A large celery stalk and a green olive in every one, made it the full meal deal. I didn't have to order anything to eat as it came with the drink. :-)
I sat at the bar and have great service from the bartenders. I never had to wait more than a few minutes to get a refill. I can't comment on the food, but if you want to watch a sporting event and have a drink or two, this is a good place to go. -

HORRIBLE. Just so bad. Here is why:
- the host was running around completely frazzled. There should be at least 2 hosts. Most of the time, there was no one around to welcome customers. Not appropriate.
- completely understaffed! Our waiter forgot our order so our meal came out 1hour and 45min later! The only reason our food even came out was because we had to remind him. I don't blame him personally necessarily. I think this place is just horribly run
- we were seated in the side room (not the main room with the bar) and the TVs in there were horrible! they were so tiny. They have plenty of room to upgrade and get bigger TVs, so why don't they? The main appeal of this place is to go there to watch a game, therefore they need nice BIG TVs.
- the food was either bad or mediocre. The sliders were dry. The pulled pork sandwich was too spicy. The chicken nachos were just ok. On top of our meal coming out incredibly late, each dish was brought out individually. Therefore, we had to wait 10 min in between each delivery. By the time the last dish was brought out, everyone else's food was cold.
I think this place has potential (great building) but it is run by horrible management. Frankly, I can see it going out of business soon. There are better sports bars to visit. Too bad. This place could be a great place for tourists too considering how it's in the middle of downtown Seattle.
I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. -

Macaroni and cheese with a fried breaded coating in a ball. Really? Double disgusting!
To be fair, this is what our group buffet was, not something I'd order myself in a million years. The other buffet food was equally gut-busting though I confess the wings did taste good.
Must give the servers credit.... They were thorough and friendly, capably serving our large group. While it was near impossible to clearly make out conversations on the bar's cement floor area, its open-ness supported a crowd with comfort and easy, making mingling easy. And conversations were easily audible in the carpeted area with tables.
However, this pub grub is still never someplace I would choose for my dining pleasure. -

You would figure that a place that charges $10 cover to watch the UFC fight, and $6 for a pint of bud lite, they would have enough money to pump that basement with air conditioning. To top if off, I had to find a spot along the wall to watch the fight since there wasn't any room to sit. Next time I should roll up with shorts and a towel and bake in that musky ass sauna, never mind, there wont be a next time.

Fox not only had the game on mutiple monitors, they placed me in a private lounge so that I can watch game without any disruptions.

The burger was perfect.....the beef was juicy and all the toppings were tasty and flavorful.

For an early Friday evening, it certainly wasn't poppin' in here. We weren't even sure they were open because the upstairs area was totally empty. We wandered downstairs to discover they were infact open. Hostess looked up from her nap to greet us. Not a lot of people in here though, especially for a Friday around dinner time. I think there may have even been a fight on that night, but no one was watching it here.
We sat at the bar, our bartender was sweet, she made chit chat with us, laughed with us, good natured lady, really liked her. +1 for her alone. Food was expensive, but decent, probably could go somewhere else and for 50% more get the same things but served up twice as delicious. It's clean in here, but why is the edge of the bar counter unfinished, I could've practically cut myself on the sharp edge? Hello!
+1 for the awesome company I was keeping, and them having two of my favorite local brews of tap. Otherwise I'll just skip this joint next time.
p.s. if you spot a girl across the room with a too-tight shirt sportin' some gnarly back fat, and she's got some weird Britney Spears maribou shit in her hair, don't make fun of her, her friends may be sitting in the couches right behind you, and you may also find out a few moments later that you know her... not that I'd know what that's like... *ahem* -
Review from Me H.

I use to go to Fox a lot when it first opened it was a nice new place to chill and hang out after work with friends. The food wasn't bad, the drinks were good, the service was great and I could always find a place to sit. I stopped going for a while than started back up when it became the pre-drink spot amongst the friends I was hanging out with. We'd meet there for a drink or two before we hit the town and the place was always packed, service sucked and drinks were weak.
Well this Saturday to get out of the cold I stopped in here with the ex-boy for a bite to eat and to watch some basketball. We found a spot on the 'couch-like' seating with our own coffee table. A server promptly came over to take our drink orders and deliver menus. We decided what we wanted and waited and waited and waited for our server to come back. Finally after almost 20 minutes she comes back to take our order. Luckily there were a gazillion flat screens for me to watch to keep me occupied while I waited. I decided on the BBQ chicken nacho's minus the chicken and BBQ sauce, the ex he went with the orange chicken.
These were probably the worst nachos ever; they were horrible I think I would rather eat movie theatre nachos than the nachos at Fox. I wanted a taste of the orange chicken so I took a tiny piece, on first bite it tasted ok but after it settled in my mouth I wanted to scrape my tongue. And about an hour after eating the ex had major tummy troubles so the orange chicken was no bueno too.
We were there middle of the afternoon service was meh and the food was horrible. If you want to watch more than one game at the same time go here but don't eat the food.
