Ping pong and beer. What the heck more can you ask for? Well there's pool and darts.
How's the food? I don't care.
PING PONG and BEER! -
Review from Andrew L.
Fox and Hound has been getting better, and I really appreciate it!
First, they dropped "Smokehouse" from its title. It never made much sense to begin with. Plus, it sounded pretentious!
Second, they have begun to empathize local breweries. My group took advantage of the 5 for $20 bucket. You got to chose five locally brewed beers out of a list of ten!
Finally, some of their new foods are really good! I had the Guac Burger last time and it was...delicious. Oh and make sure to substitute onion rings for the fries! -
Review from Paul S.
I must say, it saddens me to write this review update. After months of great service here, my buddy and I were horribly mistreated in our last visit here. We entered the place and rented a set of pool balls. It literally took an hour and twenty minutes before a waitress finally came over to our pool table and asked if we were being helped.
This girl was sitting at a table, chatting with patrons, who appeared to be her friends. She was in eyesight the entire time of us, but never bothered to come over despite being there for well over an hour. Finally, when pressed by my friend and I about how long it took, she lied and said she was really busy, when we pointed out she was just chatting with friends. At that juncture, she offered a few rounds of drinks on the house.
Honestly, we just wanted service, not free food or drinks. She eventually knocked $15 worth of drinks off the tab. Nonetheless, I had the feeling it was more so we wouldn't complain to her manager, instead of genuine concern. Honestly, even when she apologized, it came across as fake niceness. You know that fake "nice" smile? That's what we received.
I'm really disappointed.2 Previous Reviews: Show all »

Fox & Hound is great for a few things. Not many, but a few.
- Group parties/gatherings ((there's def a lot of space))
- Games ((pool, darts, ping pong, shuffleboard))
- Watching sports games
- Boozin'
- Lounging
- Drink specials
Aside from that, there's not much to rave about. Don't get me wrong, I've had several fun nights at F&H. Some were obscenely wild and crazy, while others were rather tame. However, the food isn't that great. In fact, I wouldn't necessarily label it good. It's average bar food with somewhat high prices. ((Well, except maybe the pretzel dunkers - you can't usually go wrong there)). The service is average - it's hit or miss to be exact.
On my last adventure to F&H, I went to attend a fairly large b-day bash my friend was throwing for her husband. I will give it to them, for a party of 30+ people, the service was great. The waitresses were always available and always asking if the group needed anything. I don't know what sort of package was purchased, but I imagine it was reasonable. We all had a blast. We had a place to sit, booze to drink, games to play, the Hawks game being shown on multiple TV's, and some snacks to eat.
The crowd tends to be a little on the older side, which appeals to me and my group of friends. ((I image the 21 year olds are down the street at the Bamboo Room, or Heat, or Raven, or whatever it's called now)). So yes, you will get some drunks, but it's not off the wall crazy. ((Head to Barleycorn's if that is what you are looking for)).
Closing thoughts: Great for parties and great for boozin'.Listed in: Burb Life. Night Life.

I've been going here for years and I like this place and my standard go-to bar. They always have drink specials, tons of room, games, and nice/cute staff normally.
I wouldn't really go here for the food but people that complain about bar food not being excellent are just whiny. Come for the food and grab an appetizer if needed.
This place could really use some better promotional people though. This was the spot a few years ago, not sure what happened but it was pretty dead last time I went but still had a good time. -

Fox and Hound is a good place to go if you want to have a few drinks and watch a game. They have pool tables and I think darts. It has an older crowd feel, and it really doesn't get exciting unless something is happening during the current sporting game on the TV. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time. Bu the drinks are kind of overpriced and the atmosphere wasn't anything to brag about. It's your typical sports bar. The one thing I will say you NEED to order are the cheese fries. They may have been the best fries I have ever tasted. Beyond that I think there are better bars out there.

The food is not really worthwhile, but the place is fun. Its not so loud and d-baggy that you can't hang out with your friends and have a good time. Its much better than some of the other options nearby and its a bit "classier".
Atmosphere gets 5 stars
Food gets 2 stars
Specials get 3.5 stars. -
Review from Dennis S.
Pool tables and table tennis makes this better than average.
Food is what you'd expect in a sports bar, adequate but unmemorable. Service is sometimes way to pushy. Space is comfortable. Beer selection is great.
Come here with friends and it's a good time. Otherwise, why bother? -

Update:
Since my last review I have been going more with friends on a bi-monthly basis. Normally I don't eat there and just drink/enjoy time with friends. Since 3 things have really annoyed me and the only reason I keep going back are my friends.
1. They started a new policy, without your knowledge, where when they open credit card tabs they run it right away with a $25 charge to confirm you have money. This $25 charge isn't put back on your account until 2-3 business days later. So make sure you don't over spend and add $25 to your total. Buyer beware isn't suppose to be in the bar....yet it has entered here.
2. I was here during Superbowl with friends, we had a huge party of about 30 people or more. Our waitress was slow I know it was busy so I just munched on the appetizers my friends ordered until my food came. My nachos were burnt, burnt black olives are not good at all (which I never knew until superbowl since no one ever burns nachos)...the wings were good as usual and I had a few beers. When I told the waitress I wanted to cash out, she told me that my credit card didn't work (before I could tell her I was paying cash). I gave her cash and she ignored me until I flagged her down 15 minutes later to get my change. She tried to keep a $15 tip, on a $35 tab!! Then she took another 10 minutes to get me my change....That was her biggest mistake of the night, as a ex-waitress I had to tip her yet I really wanted to leave without tipping her to pay her a lesson (always bring change and allow the guest to tell you "nah you keep it" Never guess especially over $5!!! If I get her again I'll ask for someone else who knows how to treat guests.
3. Within the last week my friends were there and we found a Rubberband - Yes a Rubberband - in our Salsa that was with our chips. My friends go here often, order a lot of food and drinks so they didn't want to complain. Yet that was the final draw for me. I will Never eat there again just will drink and that's questionable too yet bottles will do.
My previous review with 3 stars (6/19/2011):
I live right around the corner from here so it's the number one place I go to for a sports bar in the area. Food is decent, not great yet not horrible. Service is spotty sometimes, if they are busy you'll have to wait awhile. Some of the waitresses aren't in the best of shape for the short shorts they wear sometimes...would like to see more male waiters/bartenders here since this isn't a hooters kind of place!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Last night, a Friday, was my first visit and I enjoyed my time with friends. The place is HUGE and parking isn't so bad.
We only drank (did not eat) though there was a late night menu. Place was moderately loud, which is what you can expect anywhere in Schaumburg past 9pm. -

Went here on a Saturday night around 1130, and the place seemed extremely empty...weird. However, we had a wonderful experience. I am judging on drinks, service and environment since I did not order any food.
We came its a group of 8 and decided to out 2 tables together in the pool table area. A waitress greeted us promptly and got our drinks order. She asked right away if we would like separate checks, which was very nice of her to do so right away, and I'm sure makes her work easier in the end.
I got the PINeAPPLe UPsIDe DOwN CAKe (You'll flip for this mix of Malibu Coconut, banana liqueur, pineapple juice and grenadine). I was hoping that it would have some whipped cream on it, but that was just my wishful thinking. The drink was very sweet but very yummy. The taste and smell very much reminded me of Mexico, and the drinks they serve at the resorts. Good memories sparked. Everyone else noticeably also enjoyed their drinks.
The pool tables were not occupied so we decided to play some pool too.
The waitress seemed on hand any moment that we needed her, but she was never too pushy. She even took a picture with us.
The bathrooms were very clean, which is always a plus for a casual hang out place.
I still find it weird that on a Saturday night it was very empty, I guess maybe it was just an off day.
You want a chill calm place to play pool and grab a few drinks with friends.. here's a place. -

Went here after the main portion of a bachelorette party for a couple of night caps.
Our server was nice, but it was a bit slow service even though the front room was 1/2 empty. The drinks were pretty good for the price...so that was a perk.
The space is pretty impressive. Large dining area with TV's around the perimeter and a connected "play" room with pool tables and more TV's. This place truly is a man cave in the nicest way.
Ladies, if you want to meet Mr. This Evening, you should consider this place; however, the crowd's a bit young. Not that I'm old or anything....but you know what I mean.
So, in all...come here for some chill atmosphere and decent drinks, but don't expect the service to be outstanding. -

The star is for the food and the beer selection, both of which are surprisingly good. The service, unfortunately, is awful. The place is cavernous, and they seem to have a lot of servers working, but they never turn out to be visible or nearby when you want to order something, or have a question about the menu. They probably need to figure out if they want to be a sports bar or a club. There are TVs all over showing various games, but the only thing you can hear is the blaring music videos they have playing on a couple of the TVs.

Don't bother ordering food unless you're really hungry. It's all cookie cutter deep fried frozen Sysco fare. It's like eating at TGIF with higher prices. They do not post ANY prices on their alcoholic drinks except for the specials which is becoming increasingly common and our waitress had no clue what any of the prices were nor was she willing to go and check. She almost sighed when I asked a few prices on some of the specialty beers as if to tell me to just order and not worry about the tab like everyone else. The manager was polite and did a great job of helping out the crew where he could which is the reason why I didn't give this place only 1 star. There is nothing special about this place so if you can go elsewhere then by all means do.

Went last night for first time to a Fox & Hound. AWFUL experience! There's about 8 girls just standing around dancing by the front door and back area. Not sure why they had so much staff since it was pretty dead. Server was very nice, however, had to go check w/ the bartender about beer specials. Shouldn't she know them for a Friday night in the summer?
Placed an order for the Buffalo Chicken Pizza w/o green onions and my friend had a turkey melt. Pizza arrived w/ red onions on top. I asked the server if this was the Buffalo Chicken pizza since I did not see any sign of Buffalo sauce and knew the BBQ pizza came w/ red onions on it. To be honest, I'm not sure our server knew there were two different types of chicken pizzas on the menu. She said she put in the one I ordered but seemed confused. The manager came out and apologized for the mix-up, however, he didn't ask what the problem was. I explained about the onions and he said OH, we just put in an order for another BBQ pizza so it's a completely wrong order. No kidding!
When the pizza came out it was very dry. Reminded me more of cheesy garlic bread w/ a little spice and some chicken chunks. Barely any sauce. And, after having the correct order for only a few mins (less than 10) the server asked me if I wanted a box for leftovers. Felt rushed even though it was dead!
My friend and I stayed for another drink. When the check came, the server asked if wanted them split & we said yes. When they came, the price of the pizza was removed but split between our bills. I asked her why since we did not share. She said she had not even looked at them before giving them to us and then said she split them before the pizza was added (also, the pizza on the receipt was BBQ!). She took the checks to fix them, which took a while. She was very nice and I'm not sure if she made the initial mix-up or the kitchen made a mistake.
Either way, AWFUL experience and will probably not be going back. -

Came there with a group of 7 to do a fantasy football league draft. Sara was our waitress for the evening and she was the highlight of the evening. I dont drink drink if you know what I mean., I drink cola products and ordered mine. she was attentive with mine and the rest of the group. If I was rating on just her it would be a 4.75 if I could do that, a little bit more attentiveness would be great. The buffalo chicken pizza sucked, I ahvent a clue what they think they are cooking. not good and 6 out of 7 said the same thing. Also Sausage pizza is not what your place claims it to be. Go to any pizzeria in cicero berwyn and get a clue, it sucked. sweet potatoe fries thumbs up. Quesidillas 4 out of 5.
The did accomndate our group nicely, Bathroom are out of the way but clean
Imporve the pizza's and you have a hit -

I have been to fox and hound in Bloomingdale before but this was my first time here. I have to say the food was good but our waitress was absolutely horrible!!! She was screwing our orders up left and right. The place was pretty dead so it's not like they were busy.
When we first got there we waited forever to get drinks so some of the guys went to the bar and got their drinks, she had the nerve to come to our table and tell them they next time they need to order from her because she is our waitress with a snotty attitude. Who says that to their customers???
We placed our food orders and after atleast 30 minutes I had to ask where my food was after everyone else was served. She said oh you don't have your food yet? It's been sitting back there so let me go get it. Seriously?? My friend had to wait 20 minutes for water and after flagging down a different waitress she finally got it. I can promise u that I will never go back to the schaumburg location if this is how their service is.
I must say that I am extremely disappointed and it is rare that I complain but that is ridiculous. She needs to serve her customers with a better attitude and not be so snotty and she needs to pay more attention to taking down the right drinks and food orders. -
Review from Michelle F.

There are two reasons this place gets two stars instead of one--their food was good (once it actually arrived) the sweet waitress that picked up our waitresses' slack was actually VERY helpful--a total sweetheart.
I don't know WHY we keep going here, but we have been fooled enough--last night was our final time. I guess it's tradition for us to have crappy service after our first softball game--a pattern we unfortunately have fallen into the last three seasons at this particular Fox and Hound. From now on, IF we feel the need to get our "Fox and Hound" on, we will be trekking to Bloomindgdale!
We seated ourselves down to watch the hockey game. It was a Sunday night, and the bar was NOT that busy. However, our waitress couldn't be bothered to take our drink orders, so my friends went to the bar to get it instead. The waitress (who hadn't even shown up at this point) started the evening off badly by just giving them attitude about that in the first place.
She forgot food orders, told us incorrect info off of the menus, never refilled anything like water or soda, forgot to even BRING 1/2 the drinks she was supposed to. My favorite part was when she left a tray on our table for a long time with a drink on it for ANOTHER TABLE. Sure, I'll drink it, but it's not mine! lol
And then after 1/2 the group left, my husband and some of his buddies stayed back, and she told them "I am normally WAY faster, but your group was just too big". Ummmm, I doubt it. -

Service is brutal here at best on Friday and Saturday nights.....
Food is 3-4 stars
Service is 1-2 stars
Overall this place is good at best. With all of the sports bars in the area I would recommend going someplace else..... -
Review from Sarah S.
My friends go here all the time and since it's like 5 steps away from my home I'm always joining them.
They always have specials on beers...$4 for a huge mug on a Friday night works for me. I always go with whatever the special of the night is so I haven't experienced the expensive beers some people speak of. My friends always get the chips & dips because it's all you can eat...they keep refilling it and it's like $6. Join their All Stars club and earn points towards gift certificates, cheap drinks and half price wings (once you get to that point you get 10 wings for $4---not bad!).
The service is hit or miss. Sometimes we get fantastic waitresses who are super friendly & attentive. Other times we are left wondering where the heck our server is & why they are ignoring our requests!
Bathrooms are always extremely clean which is always a good thing!
They have some arcade games, darts, ping pong and a couple pool tables which adds to the atmosphere. Karaoke nights are hilarious but be aware some people take them very seriously bringing their kids, grandparents, everyone who knows them. We like going here to watch games as there are tons of TVs all over, tons of seating.
They play awesome music although sometimes it's just a tad too loud.
Fox definitely gives me that local bar feel and I will continue going, even with a few faults here and there. :) -

We went to this venue on a Friday night, largely due to the recommendation of the clerk at the nearby hotel we were staying at and the 20% discount offered off our meal by showing our room card. Well, the 20% off should have been our first clue (ding, ding, ding, ding!!!). The next warning sign was that although the joint looked busy, there were empty tables available immediatly at 7:30 p.m. on a Friday night (ding, ding, ding, ding!!!).
I have to agree with other reviews of this venue... It's LOUD! You cannot hear someone standing next to you, how annoying! We did not order drinks, so I cannot comment as to the quality of the taps and pulls. We ordered the Nachos with Chicken and the also a wrap. Both were terrible and made with low grade Sysco product.
In the end, we felt that we had rolled "craps" in our choice to have dinner Friday night in Schaumberg. The food was lackluster enough to make us nastalgic for either Taco Bell or White Castle! :-( -

Was one our our regular hot spots for the Schamburg area. A nicer casual place for the weekend -- There are pool tables & dart boards for entertainment as well as several TVs for more of a sports bar feel. The service was usually pretty good, and the drinks weren't too expensive. They even have things like table toppers for large groups.

Review from Erin K.
It was close in proximity to where my friend and I wanted to meet, and thus, we choose Fox and Hound for dinner.
I wasn't there for drinks, so I can't comment on those. I didn't play pool and I wasn't watching any of the many TV screens. We didn't have a group, so to have a private conversation in a booth was a bit difficult because its a tad noisy.
The Baravian pretzels were yummy. I couldn't make them as well at home! That was the best part of the visit.
I ordered the tortilla soup and salad. My friend ordered some kind of cheesy beer soup and salad. Neither soup was hot but her's was so NOT hot that it was unappetizing and she ended up sending it back.
There wasn't one thing that really upset me about this place, it was just ok...from the waitstaff to the food. I might go back for another round of pretzels but I would lean more towards just finding a different place to eat. -

Ok, I'll start this out admitting I'm a total snob and honestly I'm okay with that. I'm a city a girl and that's all there is to it, but I have friends who aren't city folk and that is how I ended up at Fox and Hound all the f out in Schaumburg.
So, I arrive at about 10:15 and it's packed, I had to park in the next parking lot over (and by the way I think bars with parking lots are inviting irresponsibility, valet in the city too). When I entered the bar I took pause at the fact that Ashlee Simpson was pumping through the air (deep breath and smile). The space was nice, and I was surprised at how big the place actually was. There's pool and darts in one part and then booths and tables and couches in another part. It kind of reminded of a more bar-y TIG Friday's. They had decent specials, the beer of the month right now is tall Miller drafts. My cocktail was 6.50, so not great but not insane. There were signs for other specials, during the week this place seems like a good deal.
Part of my group ordered nachos and they were really good. The food seems promising and I can imagine this place is nice to have an early dinner. There were more than I few times when the music, which was WAY too loud for a place without a dance floor, made me take pause because it was awful.
I actually had a much better time than I expected. It wasn't bad, although I'll never have another reason to go back. -

If you're planning to visit Fox and Hound Smokehouse & Tavern, be sure to bring your own first aid kit. I went to this dismal establishment for the first time to celebrate my friend's birthday. I have been to the Fox and Hound in Aurora and enjoyed myself, service was good, food was good, nothing to horrible to complain about. I expected the same from this location, but this place makes the Aurora location look like a 4-star restaurant.
The service is completely lousy, I was accused of having an attitude because I did not pay for someone's drink , who I did not ever know (he left without paying, not my problem). Our server was nowhere to be found and by the time, you do find her, be ready to wait at least an hour before getting your order. Also be ready for the scummiest drunks to barge into your party and hit on you.
Wondering about the first aid kit? Well on the way out, the big wooden doors slammed into one of our party members head. He had a huge gash on his forehead, bleeding profusely all over his hand and the floor. We asked for their first aid kit, but they did not have one. What kind of place is this!! No accident report was filled out or trip to the emergency room was made. All the manager did for him was clean him up and sent him on his way, no bandages at all, not even a band-aid or an "I'm sorry, let me take care of your next visit here." Not that I would ever come back in the first place.
So be sure to bring your own bandages and order whatever you can while you can because chances are, you'll have the crappiest time of your life at Fox and Hound Smokehouse & Tavern. -

Let's recap the Wednesday deals at Fox and Hound, shall we?
FREE food buffet from 6-8pm (for women, as it's part of 'Ladies Night')
$4 sapphire and tonics
$4 margaritas
Karaoke at 9pm
My friends and I came here on a whim to catch a game, so we didn't even know they were offereing free food! Imagine how excited we were! The food was yummy - garlic bread, steamed broccoli, pasta and some egg white cookie thing. And free. Did you catch that?
There are a million tvs in here, so this is actually a great spot to watch your game of choice. Management is always willing to change the channel for you, too. If you're tired of sitting on the hard, backless stools, opt for lounging on one of the many comfy, leather chairs. Good atmosphere here overall - attentive waitress, fun dj, laid-back crowd.
Oh, and they have these 'F-Bombs' ($8), which is Effen vodka and Monster. Just my style, yo. -

Usually I really like Fox & Hound, but I've had a handful of bad experiences at the Schaumburg location. For the most part, my coworkers love this location, but my friends from my hometown *refuse* to go here. Many times my friends and I have sat at a table and waitresses blatantly ignored us, and the place was more than half empty. For a while, the dart boards got pretty jacked up and they did not replace them for a few months. Pretty lame.
When I went last Friday, I had great service and the waitresses wouldn't leave me alone, but that's why I give it 4 stars instead of 3. *shrug* Maybe the waitresses were allergic to my friend.
Edit: All of my recent after-work trips to F&H have been pretty outstanding. They have pint-night on Tuesdays and I get the $2 Fat Tires. Check out the appetizer pretzels, they're the shiz. -
Review from Ericka A.
After the purchase of my new car, my friend drove me to pick it up and we decided to celebrate the glorious event at this establishment. She had been here a couple times before and recommended it.
The atmosphere is very laid back. There are three separate areas that all connect and are similar, but some are louder than others and each plays its own music. Our area mostly had pool tables and two people were playing guitar hero.
We ended up joining their drinking club. You get a point for every beer you purchase and after a certain amount of points you start collecting prizes. It was free to sign up and their drink specials make it worthwhile.
The food was OK. Nothing to rave about. My friend likes their food more than the other place we frequent. I'd have to disagree; however, their drink selection is wider and the food isn't bad, just not as good as some other places. It's also cheaper to eat here than most other bars of this type, so everyone comes out a winner. -
Review from Tita P.
So, I have lived in 3 1/2 cities (half being N. Suburb of Chicago) I am always excited when I find a Fox and Hound. No matter where you live they are going to have $2 pint night and lets just say that I really enjoy $2 pints. Well I went in to Fox and Hound with lots of excitement. First, this location has a great layout. Lots of open space the bar is "L" shaped and there are tons of tvs. There is also a huge room with even more tvs. So, what's not to like.
One word: the service. I sat at the bar and it was not crowded. I watched the bartender walk past me quite a few times before she realized that I was there to make an order. Finally, she took my order. When I finished my beer she walked past me a few more times before she asked if I wanted another. Now, I am usually very patient at bars especially if there are a lot of people but in this case...umm not so much. I had 2 beers and an appetizer and left. I left disappointed and vowing to never return.
In the 3 1/2 cities that I have lived in this is the FIRST time I have ever been disappointed on $2 pint night. Lucky for me there are others throughout the area. -

Good place to hang out for drinks and snacks.
Cheap drinks and plenty of tvs to watch whatever game you're out to watch for the night. -
Review from Eric M.
This place has a lot of potential to be a great bar. I'll first mention the pros. 1) It's HUGE. The main area you walk into obviously is enough for most bars but there are two separate rooms, one with leather couches another with pool tables, darts, and shuffle board. The place felt like it never ended. 2) The staff are very nice. Our server worked with our group really well and got our food and drinks quickly.
What needs work are the drinks and the music. I ordered a Black & Blue (Guinness and Blue Moon) and it looked more like a Brown. Now they may have been using Guinness from a can and not on tap, but either way not the best. The music is stupidly loud in the main room. I'm glad we were in the game room b/c if not I don't think I could've talked with anyone. There is no dance floor so I'm confused at why they're playing Kelly Clarkson at volume 11. -

I wish I could learn to like this place. I live so close that I can walk here, but there are reasons that I don't. I think its safe to say they can drop "Smokehouse" from the name since Schaumburg banned public indoor smoking. You can always catch a bunch of people smoking outside, so I guess that technically still makes it a "smokehouse".
It seems like the service here is slow, and I've been here when its packed and half empty. The food is average at best, the burgers are bland, and the music here is just horrible. They play Top 40 hits, and they even manage to get that wrong. The drinks are never strong enough in my opinion, and that's even if you ask them to add extra liquor.
This place is spacious, and there are so many TV's to keep you entertained, but even that can't distract me. It's a shame that I couldn't like this place more, but the mediocre service, average food, and watered down drinks make me stay away. -

I've been to the one in Palatine but I figured it can't be much different here. Unfortunately it's worse.
The people at the door are almost as useful as the ones in Palatine; usually forgets about you (although they're friendly when they do notice you). If you've never been there before, there's very little help, which honestly sucks. It took me about 3 visits before I realized I had to seat myself. The prices for food are a bit high for the quality of food. The chips and salsa, while cheap, are pretty dull and the salsa is watery.
The venue is absurdly loud, to the point where it's difficult to talk to the person next to you. Great for drunk college groups and drunken obnoxious sports events, horrible for dates, meetings, and just a relaxing drink.
What makes the Schaumburg location worse than the Palatine was the service we always get. I've been there three times, but our servers have been inattentive, slow, and have twice hurried us to pay the check. Our last visit, the server was slow, constantly ignored refills for water and soft drinks (we had to flag her down constantly for refills), couldn't give us good suggestions for food, and I had to chase her down to get more beer repeatedly.
The prices of beer are nice but aside from that, there isn't much here. I'll stick with the Palatine location if I absolutely need to come here. -

Went here with my group o' girls for dinner and drinks in the suburbs. I had no idea that the place was like..... a giant bar. When they call someplace a "bar and grill," I usually get the impression that there is a part of the establishment that has some physical distance from the bar area. Not so with Fox and Hound. We sat at bar tables, and had to talk very loudly over the crowd (8 pm on a Friday). Tons of guys about 30 years old, and TV monitors on every inch of wall space. They did have great drink specials, and I think service was pretty good for such a crowded and casual place. I had an Absolut peach with Sprite, and then a new hard cider that they were promoting. They gave out free samples of it, and everyone who got a sample or bought the cider got entered in a raffle to win hats and shirts and things.
The food was all right - passable bar food. I had the crab cake sliders, which were decent. I'd expect better at a "real" restaurant, but it was pretty good for bar food. The crab cakes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the potato bun was really tasty. The two sliders were served with standard cole slaw which didn't add much to the meal. I liked the portion size - I'm a small person but I finished both sliders and the tasty big fries on the side, without feeling totally stuffed. In the future, I'd rather come here for drinks... though it did feel like a college bar. -

I was here last weekend with a friend who is moving out of town. It was our final girls night out before she leaves. We really had a blast! This is a pretty "chill" place where you can get together with friends to either watch sports, listen to music and watch the accompanying videos on the screens or just talk (and talk and talk!) like we did! Our server Sarah C. was really sweet. Actually, all of the staff was! The manager checked on us twice and I told him we were having such a good time! Ugh -I forgot his name! I mentioned I would Yelp him too! That's what happens when you have not one but TWO Delirium Tremens pints and unfiltered girly talk! I'm so glad she suggested this place. We truly enjoyed our appetizers as well as the libations!

I went here last Friday for the UFC Fight. We ate before we came here so there was no where left to sit, which sucked cause we were full of good food and wanted to relax. It was $5 cover to watch the game, which wasn't bad compared to other places. They had plenty of servers so we never had to leave and go to the bar, our server was nice and very quick. One of the specials was $3 miller lite pints so that definitely was a bonus.
I only saw the rest of the bar for a little bit after the game, then we decided to leave since we were with out of towners who were heading home early in the morning.
I wouldn't mind coming back here if I am ever in the area again, for a schaumburg bar it was decent. -

Having grown up in Palatine, I expected the worst: Durty Hell-ies. But I came here to meet up with some friends who work in the burbs and had a great time. Great drink specials and decent food. We always find seating right away and service is consistently good.
Had another engagement recently at John Barleycorn in Schaumburg (yuck, I know) but there was a huge line, so I convinced the group to head here. We all had a great time and are really glad we didn't wait for the douchebaggery at Barleycorn.
A great bar for the burbs.
