Review from Callum S.
For a place that's a chain, its really good.
You still get that old school pub feel. And the menu is surprisingly diverse. You can get British favourites alongside fajitas.
The downside is that its not as unique as other pubs might be. But its still a great place to go for a beer and some food while watching the game. -

Here on a Friday night, and feeling like a huge imposition to the staff. It seems like the staff are having a contest: who can say the fewest words to a customer, who can maintain a blank expression for the longest and who can emit the ice-iest energy overall.
Not a great kick-off to the first long weekend of 2012... : ( -

Food is great -- that's about all this place has going for it. Beer is too expensive and the selection isn't that great.
It's always way to loud to go to on the weekends, and Karaoke takes over the place for most nights during the week.
The summer is great when the patio is open and sitting outside. This is the only time I really enjoy the Fox and Fiddle. -

I come to this place a lot. Maybe more than it deserves. But it's close by, you can usually find a big table if you're in a large group, and the wings are pretty good. They have their wings on special on Mondays and Thursdays.
I generally find the staff very friendly and accommodating. The food is generally fine, but over-priced (though the same can be said for many pubs in the area, especially the chain restaurants). I'm not sure I would eat here at all if it weren't for the specials, now that I think of it.
Also a good spot for watching the game, though I second the complaint about charging for special sporting events. Not a good precedent to set. -

I used to come to this place when it used to be Fiddler's Green and to be honest, aside the sign in front, I would not had even noticed the difference. They both have the same vibe. Which is to say a divey looking bar.
The best thing about this place is their patio at Front. It is nicely shaded during the summer and Wellesley is just quiet enough (sort of) that you are not distracted by traffic noise. Great place to have a few drinks.
Inside is generally 'meh' typical pub like decor. Lots of greens, maybe the odd red and yellow. Like most British pubs. They do have Karaoke which is touch and go, since you normally get a one or two large groups and the odd couples. But it never seems to be packed.
I recommend it if you leave nearby and for the size. If you have a large party, which I do from time to time, then they can open the second floor room. So you can have it all to yourself free of charge. If your crowd is in pub-state-of-mind, then you can have a lot fun in this place.Listed in: My Reviews

An oasis to take a break from Toronto Pride. Great beer and liquor selections and decent service.
The menu was acceptable--I recommend the Angus meatballs and the Ceasar salad. -

Damn close to my house, plays hockey games and has karaoke, how could I refuse a visit? It's nothing that will knock your socks off, but they have lots of sports on a bevy of TVs and a few different rooms (in a pretty classy older building retrofitted into a pub - it's minimal but not dark or dirty) including a quieter upstairs. The patio can be great too, if it's a warm evening.
Food is pretty varied pub fare from a huge menu that goes from burgers to curry. I've had wings (well done and available in many styles to suit your taste), sweet potato fries (so great!), onion rings (I usually love them but these were too greasy), fajitas (pretty darn good, with the sizzling plate and assemble-your-own dynamic), and nachos (the chips are light and crispy and you get plenty of jalapenos, but they come up short on cheese and only give you a little bit of sour cream/salsa.) They also serve a positively gigantic fish and chips, again a little on the greasy side but very satisfying.
The service/experience can vary just as much as the menu. I've been in here for early-evening hockey games for which my girlfriend and I were practically the only people sitting in our section and we still felt neglected, but I've also shown up on really busy nights with bigger groups of friends and had quick and friendly service (though be extra vigilant and inform your server well in advance if you want separate bills, it can get very cumbersome, especially after a few drinks!) Your mileage may vary. Depending on the night you arrive and where you're sitting, you might have to strain to hear over the karaoke... or you could join in.
Of course, this being a pub, beer is important. The bar deals in pretty much all of the standard stuff that will get you through a game/match/heated round of debate - macro lagers, Rickards, Guinness, Kilkenny and so on. I've been to many bars with better taps, even if I wasn't looking to indulge my admittedly geeky tastes in beer (if you want to get into some really great brews go to Volo, just up the street on Yonge!)
Three stars, for being an essential, if not altogether refined, service - the cheap bar close by a major transit point that no one's likely to disagree with if it comes down to a night of revelry.Listed in: Village Gems

Not bad. Our waitress was very inattentive.. but it did not stop us from enjoying good company and decent food.
Surprised to find there was a comedy show, Texas Comedy Massacre, with no cover on the third floor. Offensive and funny in a Canadian stereotypical way. -

Another installment of this uncompelling Toronto chain of pubs. Nothing surprising on the menu or on tap. The beer selection could be better. Food is okay. I found the interior quite minimal. There's a decent enough patio, making this an option when the weather turns good and the hunt begins for a place, any place, that serves on a patio.
The washroom signage is only one step less confusing than having a picture of Boy George for the men's room and Annie Lennox for the women's. The men's room is called "foxes" and the women's is called "vixens". Ever hear a person, even a drunk person, describe a fellow as a "fox"? The men's room is only determinable by process of elimination (or reading the fine print). "I know for sure a woman is a vixen therefore..."
I suspect this chain, and this location, trade largely on location. Steps away from Wellesley makes for a nice central location.
Service is actually tops here and the waitresses are alluring attired in little red plaid miniskirts. So. That's okay. -

I love this place. Use to come here all the time when I was at Ryerson. Came back the other day for drinks and food. I had the buffalo chicken bits and it was crispy and delicious. I Also had their strawberry banana margarita after seeing their food pics on http://phenu.com/foxan.... The service here is friendly and prompt. A chillin' place I would recommend to anyone.

I frequent this pub not out of a particular liking for it but due to a club event.
Decent beer specials but selection could be better for a large pub. (One night this past month it was really hot and I'd have loved a nice Weiz but they did not have any.) Food is a bit pricey, okay but not special, but not bad. Coffee is yecchy here; avoid it. Mixed drinks are not very good either. Outdoor patio is pleasant. Indoor area could use a bit of updating, especially the floor covering and the washrooms. -

If there's any spot in Toronto I'd come close to calling "my local", this would be it. Although I don't live in the area, I happily hop on the ol' subway early on Friday nights and head down to Wellesley Station. This Fox is in a festively lit, old Victorian home, and I often grab a table in the (soon to be full) dining area, of what one can imagine was once the receiving room of a grand home. The decor definitely screams "bar" - but classy, as if someone in 1890 was a fan of bar culture and collected bar paraphernalia.
This place is great for bar goers of all kinds - drinkers, eaters, minglers, dancers and karaokers (I am all 5 :)
Friday nights are a must for lovers of drink and karaoke. Friday's special is $3.50 bar rails and well drinks, and one can easily sit with friends and have a few pops for under $20. The karaoke starts at 10, and if you can get through the first half an hour of the "DJ" (I think he looks like James Franco - who's with me?) blasting music in some attempt to get the crowd pumped, the karaoke is a lot of fun and you can still converse fairly easily among your friends. If karaoke isn't your thing, then move on over into the bar area where the noise is greatly reduced, but you can still have a giggle over the drunken and the tone deaf, when the situation arises. It's also a great spot for those who want to get their dance on, but are not committed to the club district, as there's a little dancefloor upstairs with it's own bar and disco ball :) Top 40 sort of music, good for a few songs, and then a move back down back to the bar on the main level when you're all danced out.
I'm also a big fan of the food at this place - I've never ordered anything that let me down. I'm particularily a fan of the wings - there is a ton of flavours to choose from, definitely the biggest selection I've seen outside of a wings-devoted chain. The pad thai and curries are also fabulous, as are their sandwich and wraps selection. The service can be slow and the waitresses inattentive, but for the cheap food and drink and the charming atmosphere, it's definitely a favourite spot of mine. -

An update: Less cool than my previous review... Most recent UFC event we went to our usual place only to discover they are charging a cover to watch UFC events... better places around the area now that offer equivalent food, screens and service for no cover (my pet peeve). I understand the business wants patrons to spend enough to cover the cost of the ppv for commercial bars (it's $500 for the bar as opposed to $50 for a home feed) but a cover is just greed. They should just have a table minimum for food and drink and that should be good enough but adding a cover charge is excessive so I'll take my business elsewhere. I'll be posting reviews of those places when I get a chance.

This is a small, nice neighborhood bar. The service and food is a-ok. Nothing spectacular, but someplace that you can definitely stop in to get a late night beer and decent bar food. There is a nice patio out front and two distinct sides of the bar.

So we went for wings last night because it was 2 for 1 wing night. The service was good when we arrived and the server brought us our beer right away. When the wings came they were really good....until we noticed that they had little white feathers still on them! At first we thought it was just one or two of the wings, but then as we turned them over we saw that about half of them were like that. The server was polite about it but not overly forthcoming. She took them away and then after quite a while brought us back the exact quantity of each flavour of wings we had left on the plate. I guess they assumed we still had an appetite for wings after that. In the end I guess they corrected their mistake but it was inconvenient and really pretty gross and I thought the customer service should have been better. The manager didn't come over and we were still charged full price for everything. I get that it's cheap wing night but there should still be some standards or at least some acknowledgement of their mistake and a proper apology. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because the beer was good and the wings were really good the second time around.
