Review from Ramone B.
Reviewing The Four Seasons Whistler as just another hotel room is unfair and honestly inaccurate. To say that The Four Seasons Whistler is as good as it gets is a GROSS understatement. When on vacation I tend to enjoy places that feel like a home away from home. The comfortability of the accommodations, warmth of the staff, and conveniences that are provided make The Four Seasons Whistler the place to stay in Whistler, though it is actually located at the base of Blackcomb mountain and not Whistler mountain.
This small detail may seem like an inconvenience for those people that want to be in the middle of the action in the village. The reality is that it is only a 5 minute shuttle ride from the hotel to, apres', dinner and shopping the village. The Four Seasons Whistler provides this shuttle free of charge for it's guests that runs every 15 minutes. If the shuttle is an inconvenience, the hotel also provides a chauffeured Mercedes GL 450 to take their guests anywhere in the village if waiting for the shuttle is not an option. If you choose to not leave the hotel grounds for dinner and or drinks, the in house restaurant Sidecut and the adjacent lounge/bar are excellent choices for a hearty steak or good boozy libations.
The hotel also provides a Ski Concierge that is included when booked as a guest of The Four Seasons Whistler. The ski concierge lounge is located at the base of Blackcomb mountain with amazing attendants. They provide toe/hand warmers, hot chocolate, water and store all of your ski equipment for the duration of your stay. In the morning, when you decide to hit the slopes after breakfast at Sidecut, your boots are warm, dry and ready to be used. Your ski's/snowboard are placed outside to acclimate before you head out to prevent sticking and you are ready for a day of amazing riding. After you are done for the day, attendants are stationed at the bottom of every base lift, both whistler and blackcomb mountains, ready to take your equipment back to the lounge for you.
My friend and I stayed in a King superior room with a balcony. The room was adequately spacious being 550 sq ft with a luxurious king bed made up in 1000 tc sheets, a sitting area with a fireplace to go along with the furnished balcony. As a guest somewhere on vacation the bathroom is always a huge selling point. The dual vanity with granite counter tops, travertine floors and best of all, the glass enclosed shower and separate tub were perfect. Appointed with L'Occitane toiletries the home-like nature of the bathroom was completed. The commode area was in a separate room connected to the bathroom, which is a definite plus.
The entire staff of The Four Seasons Whistler was very professional and helpful. Everything was done in a manner that was efficient and expedient that was not rushed. Every request we had was met with a smile and done perfectly. The staff even arranged private Yoga classes for my friend and I which were great sessions after a long day riding both Whistler and Blackcomb.
When I return to Whistler next year to ride, I will definitely be staying in The Four Seasons Whistler. It is second to NONE in terms of accommodations, service and convenience.
As an aside wifi is included free for one device per room. Additional devices are only $5 CAD for your stay.
In summary, "as good as it gets"... :-D -
Review from Lester M.
The Four Seasons Whistler is basically as good as it gets. There is no better resort in town, period. The Fairmont doesn't even compare, seriously. I've stayed at a number of Four Seasons properties over the years, and this place was probably the most memorable. I'd put it in my top 3 hotels that I've been in, anywhere.
First, the hotel is epically designed. There are a lot of rustic features, with wood, stone fireplaces, and the like, but it also has that modern Four Seasons touch. I wish I could miniaturize this place and have it as my home! The rooms are tremendously well appointed, with balconies, fireplaces, and one of the nicest hotel bathrooms I've been in (eclipses the Tschuggen Grand Hotel bathroom in Arosa - see my other review for pictures).
The facilities are great. The sauna could be a little larger, and a little hotter, but that's not a big deal. There is a huge outdoor pool, and several outdoor hottubs, and they are all heated so you can use them in the dead of winter while the snow surrounds you. Additionally, they have staff to bring you hot chocolate with marshmallows while you're in the hottubs - this was quite a nice touch.
We only ate at the main restaurant for dinner once, as there are a variety of great choices in town. But the one meal we had was great. Breakfast is the same story - they have a nice selection of freshly made juices, so we had a good time requesting odd mixtures over the week we were there (half carrot, half orange juice is now my favorite breakfast drink).
The resort obviously isn't ski-in/ski-out as some of the others, but they make up for this by having a ski-in/ski-out "ski concierge." This is basically a building a short walk from the hotel, and near the slopes, where they store your skis for you. It's completely full service, and pretty awesome. Your boots are put on heaters, so they are all warm and toasty in the morning. The staffers here are also very friendly and helpful. -
Review from Simon K.
As good as accomodations get in Whistler, and the definite 5 Star has to be the Four Seasons up here. On a beautiful September weekend going into the fall, me and my partner were treated (as part of a prize) to stay up at this wonderful place. If you have been to Whistler, you know about the seperation of the two villages, and this was is located on the 'Upper' side, a little ways away from the Fairmont. In many ways, this is a good location, away from the hussle and bustle of the crowds from the lower village, and the 'Lookie Loo's' that are not staying here, but just browsing around. It is an intimate setting, which begins my review of this place.
On a beautiful afternoon, crisp, sunny, a little cold, and with the top down in the convertible BMW, me and my partner rolled up into the lobby area of this splendid palace up in the mountains. The valet person there greeted us kindly, and had the dolly out ready to take our luggage to our room. The valet service is part of the stay, so you do not have to go and find parking yourself and 'lug' all your stuff to your room. Something about the lobby just has a sense of class, from the sign of "the Four Seasons", to the clean, spotless pavement your car has stopped on, it is just nice.
When we entered to the check-in/reception area, the lighting was dim, and brought out the more 'woody' type atmosphere of this hotel, compared to others I have been to in other cities. It doesn't have the 'big' grand nature of other more metropolis like hotels, but a very warm feel. The lady at the conceirge greeted us, and gave us clear instructions to the room, and told us that our baggage would be up there pretty soon.
When we got to the room, my partner was amazed at the beautiful washroom area. There was a tub, a stand up shower, dual sinks, a door to close off on the toilet, and tucked away areas for placing toiletries. Also the cleansing products of choice up here are from Aveda (props to that!). The main washroom door also hid a huge mirror, as it was a sliding door, and two nice white robes were hanging on each side of the entrance for our use.
Across from the washroom was a nice walk-in closet area, equipped with card-safe, luggage rack, extra blankets and pillows, iron, and ironing board, and enough wooden hangers to hang most of your main clothing items, and another mirror. This room was built with comfort in mind, and they definitely delivered. Not cramped, like some downtown hotels I have been in. If this was winter, and you had your ski gear, ample enough room to tuck them away, and still enjoy the comforts of the suite. Once you enter the main room/bed area, you have a tv perched up for watching while in bed. An electric fireplace to warm up the room, a built in small bar area, with some extra 'paid' drinks, a coffee table if you decide to do any work, or just put stuff like your computer on, a few chairs, and a couch, a balcony with a small wooden table and two chairs with an ashtray if you are the cigarette or cigar type! Lastly you have the bed, and I do not know what mattress they are using for this king size that was situated in the room, but the combination of the feel of this bead with the 600+ thread count sheets just added to the pleasant stay we both had on this night.
Disclaimer* - I snore, and whatever this bed did, got rid of it for the night, maybe I was in some great dream state, and I probably was on some version of cloud 9 staying here, as there was time me and my partner just relaxed in the room. The hotel grounds were quite nice to walk, where there was an outdoor pool and a few hot tubs, also it was not too far from the Fairmont, where we walked over and toured the Upper Village. If you wanted to go down to the Lower levels, you could ask the conceirge, and they provide their own shuttle for you to get down.
The hotel has an excellent restaurant (Sidecut) which I have reviewed, and another lounge, where there are free wine and cheese tastings, and they are full glasses. There is a spa area near the pool, and some shops on the premises. If your looking for more of an intimate time with that special someone, and you do not want to see the crowds, come stay here, you will not regret it one bit, as this was a highlight trip of the year for us. And a great way to kick off my 400th review! -

This is the new bad boy in town. 5 Stars. 5 Diamonds.
RIP "Chateau Whistler". (Just down the road - walking distance Fairmont, let its rank as king of the mountain slide.) Whatever Chateau Whistler once was, it no longer is.
If your looking for uncompromising luxury and no excuses, consider 4Seasons and no other. -

You know when people ask you what is one your fondest memories?
This place is on the top of the list for me.
I had a great time at this hotel.
After a long day on the slopes it was nice to come back to our room nibble on some chocoates before heading down to the hot tubs.
The stary night view was unexpedted, but a nice little touch
The beds were big and comfy, no noise from neighbors even though the hotel was bustling with activity.
There was a laundry room close by which was great for drying out our snow soaked gear.
It was nice they had a rental shop about 100 feet away from the hotel.
There was also a small shoppette about another 100 feet away.
Really did not have to bring much on this trip.
Room service was a little bit slow but everything we ordered was hot and up to par just about everything you would expect.
I had a great stay, the only thing that could have been better is if the shuttle would have dropped up off at the door.
instaed we had to walk through a little bit of slush and puddles.
a very minor detail all things considered. -
Review from Alice B.
This is my first stay at a Four Seasons, and the service and attention to detail really lived up to my expectations. While I'd consider this an upscale and luxurious resort, it also caters to families with kids. Yes, I know it sounds contradictory, but it's true. We had two kids age 2 and 4 traveling with us.
The rooms were very cozy and spacious. We were upgraded to a premium room with a mountain view on checkin. Our room was already prepared for our visit with a crib (not a pack n play) set up with Sesame sheets and blankets, and a stack of extra diapers and baby shampoos/lotions. A diaper genie was in the bathroom. My kids' favorite part was a personalized snack of M&M cookies on a stick in a cup of oreo cookie crumbs and gummy worms adorned with their names in chocolate frosting.
I loved that the bathrooms had a nice deep tub and shower handle, perfect for taking a long bath, or bathing the kids. The double sinks were handy for getting ready in the morning. The separate toilet area was convenient. And I loved the spacious shower area. Our room had a large closet area separated by a door on the other side of the entryway, which was great for getting ready in the morning without waking up the kids. Evenings were spent by the cozy gas fireplace, or out on the large private patio, enjoying the view of the mountains.
Other pluses include free wifi with the room, unlike other "nicer" hotels which charge you an arm an a leg each day for access. Valet was also included in our package.
While the location is more private compared to other resorts here at Whistler, I found the extra distance to the main village where the majority of the shops and restaurants to be a bit of a hassle. But they do provide complimentary car service (in a brand new Benz!) down to the main village.
I took off a star despite the incredible attention to detail because of several things I think they overlooked that I consider basic to an excellent hotel stay. First, our rooms were not serviced in the morning on any of the thee days we were there. They came during the times our youngest was napping around 2-4 in the afternoon, despite having a 5 hour window where we were gone in the morning. I did like that they had an evening room service with bed turndown and I liked how they dimmed the lights, drew the curtains, etc and made the room homey for the evening. They also filled our ice bucket each evening so there was always fresh ice available. While some of he details were excellent, they also did not do a great job of cleaning the showers as there was hair on the walls all three nights that wasn't washed away. Last, the mattress wasn't great and kinda saggy in the middle.
Despite a few small things I think could have been better, overall I was very pleased with our stay and really appreciated many of the small things they thought of to make our stay pleasant. I'd consider going back to this place the next time I'm at Whistler. -

This is a great quick little get away for anyone from Vancouver. We drove up on the Thanks giving long weekend to stay the night on Sunday. We had Turkey dinner with all the fixings. I highly recommend it! We had a great sleep and decided to stay the next night and spend the day in the village.
The price was great because it was the slow season. The hot tubs and spa were open and fantastic. We came home very relaxed!

4.5
This place is really like Hogwarts, it's beautiful inside and out. A 10 minute walk from all the commotion of the village or you can be chauffered with the benzo.
The rooms were awesome, it's very clean and huge but very cozy!!! There's something about it that makes you feel like you're home, which other hotels lack. Beds were comfortable, bar area is intimate and quiet.
Walking from the village back to the hotel is beautiful, so much stars.
The shower, talk about Kramer moment. Best shower ever!
The only thing missing is the welcome you'd expect from a 5 star hotel.
Such as, " welcome to the four seasons, what brings you yada yada." maybe next time ey? For sure. But it's really worth the dinero for the exceptional service. Sigh I bet winter would be amazing. -

This is one of my favorite Four Seasons around and those who know me know...I love my Four Seasons. We've been here numerous times over the years and have never been disappointed with our visit. There's just something to be said about Four Seasons...they know how to do it right. The service, the attention to detail -- the entire experience is just amazing. You rarely have to ask for anything twice because if you ask for something, they're always one step ahead of you and not only do it right, but go above and beyond to make sure you're happy. They have the right formula and you can't go wrong with staying at a Four Seasons property. This one especially!
We usually take advantage of their available packages. They usually have the stay 3 nights and get the 4th for free which seems to work perfectly for us. Also the breakfast packages are great since we love to have breakfast in our room while we wake up and read the paper a bit. So relaxing!
During the winter months, this place is much more busy since you've got Blackcomb right there but my husband and I have found that even coming right after the Labor Day holiday is just as wonderful. Sure this is no snow but there are fewer to little crowds since everyone has returned to school. You can literally go for runs in the morning and not hear a car or another person around. It's beautiful and one of our favorite times to visit. We will be back again next September, if not earlier.
I'd highly recommend this Four Seasons. It's as good as it gets!Listed in: HOTELS

I love the Four Seasons hotels. This one is no different.
The hotel gave me and a buddy an awesome room with a phenomenal view of the mountains.
The spa here is awesome and the lounge is exceptional.
They pay attention to every detail and as we all know the details are what gets it done!
If you go to Whistler, and I will go to sleep praying tonight that you do, please stay at the Four Seasons.

I could not rave more about this hotel. From the second we got there to the week that we stayed there we were in love and never wanted to leave. They set up all of our daily events including skiing, dog sledding, and zip lining. I loved everything about this vacation and this stay. The second we got home we were already planning a return trip. We are planning to spend Christmas in one of the residences with family- they provide decorating services and will also get a tree for you which I plan on using. Four Seasons always does it right. Loved the little touches like hot chocolate in the lobby, the ski concierge, the ski shop downstairs. It made me fall in love with Whistler. Love love love, this was one of my top vacations of all time.

My friends and I would often refer to this place as Hogwarts. It looks like a modern castle right out of the English countryside. My friend actually worked for a (now defunct) chichi mountain-owned soft goods store. At the end of her shift we would sometimes look around the hotel. Unlike the older Chateau, the Four Seasons is crisp. The rooms are of course nice, but you're paying for the whole experience.
Fresh green apples always adorn the front desk. The concierge will bend over backwards for the smallest whim. The person making your bed had to watch a video and then take a test to do he honor. The ski concierge allows you to get your butt to the mountain without having to lug your gear.
Overall, it's a nice joint. A little further out than the Chateau but infinitely nicer. If you're going to spend $800+ for a room, this place is almost worth it. Almost.Listed in: Whistler Sleeps

I really love this resort. The service is great, the product is gorgeous, and the location is terrific.
The rooms (and bathrooms) are really nice. I like that they have button start fireplaces, I wish that there was a couch or other comfy seat right in front of the fireplace though. Well, within a safe distance, not *right* in front. The bathrooms are very well appointed and I love the soaking tub along with the standing shower.
The ski concierge and proximity to the mountain is great. I'm not a high maintenance girl, but if someone is already ready to hand me hot chocolate when I get done with a day of skiing, I can live with that. The courtesy van from the ski concierge to the town of Whistler is really nice as well.
The specialty drink menu in the lounge has some very good options. I'm a sucker for a specialty martini and I will admit I may have tried more than necessary. The food was all very good, and the prix fix menu when I was there was perfect for us.
I only had a pedicure in the spa, and the private room seemed a little, I dunno, cold (not temperature wise). The pedicure was well done though.
All in all I really like this resort, even if it wasn't located in a favorite vacation spot I'd still want to keep going back. -
Review from AxeMe A.
The Spa is good, but not superb; far from 4 Seasons quality. My massage was OK/almost poor. I'd give it a low B. My masseur was rather ill-suited for a deep tissue and had really cold hands. Also, I had so many sheets that I got really hot. I'd give him a C-. Sadly, I've had worse and you can read about it =(
Insofar as the hotel and staff, it's very good! I enjoyed staying there and used the pool and jacuzzi often!
The location is fantastic; it's adjacent to Lost Lake where one can hike and mountain bike in literally a stone's throw.
I'd stay here over other nicer hotels since it's NOT in the village.
The village is well... a little too touristy. But it's the only game in town for a lot, so it helps to have the 4 Season's on call Car service shuttle you everywhere.
Also, I loved the concierge; they linked most things up very well!! -

It's the Four Seasons, so you know it's gonna be great, and it was. Great service, wicked facilities and huge beautiful rooms. I've stayed in some nice hotels, and this is one of the best. Definitely better than the Four Seasons in Singapore (which is also topnotch). But lavishness don't come cheap....luckily my stay was a gift from friends. I got them a George Foreman grill.

Review from Megan W.
We stayed at the Four Seasons this past weekend for a friend's wedding. The hotel was amazing. Everything you'd expect at the Four Seasons. I particularly enjoyed this Four Seasons because it had an authentic rustic Canadian feel, but with all the modern necessities that made our experience completely enjoyable and convenient.
The hotel staff was very accommodating. I had a question about extending my trip and keeping my suite, the hotel operator transferred me to the manager's cell phone so that I could get an immediate confirmation
Even though the Four Seasons is a bit outside of the Village, the staff was very gracious and offered to shuttle us back and forth as needed.
The food and beverage service was great. Much better food and better prices on their menus, including beverages at the Four Seasons in comparison to the Fairmont's Chateau.
The rooms were spacious and luxurious. Even though we enjoyed a suite this trip, I went into a regular king room, which also seemed rather large with an over-sized sitting area and big walk in closet. Our suite had a couple full bathrooms, large family sitting area, fire place, corner balcony overlooking the mountains, comfortable bed, and spacious bathroom and closet.
We also spend a lot of time at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, and after seeing both hotels, I am SO glad we stayed at the Four Seasons. By far the superior hotel. Can't wait to go back! -

Went to the Four Seasons Spa today and it was amazing as per usual. My therapist is a BC certified RMT. You pay an additional $20 for this but that ensures I can get the reimbursement back from my health insurance. Make sure to request if this is your plan.
The Spa is serene and clean. Hot herbal teas and fruit infused waters get you hydrated while you wait in their comfy relaxation (waiting) room before the therapist gets you. The products used in the massage are high quality, the therapists are not chatty and the music, lighting levels and temps are always just right.
Afterwards I went for a quick dip in the outdoor hot tub before having a steam in their beautiful steam room. Afterwards a shower with lovely L'Occitane products capped off my relaxing Sunday afternoon. -

This place was fantastic. I would love to come back in the summer just to sit at the pool. We stayed at the Hilton for the first part of our stay, which was nice, but this hotel just stepped it up on service. This was the only hotel in the area that had a waiter outside at the hot tubs in the evening. IT was fantastic. Great restaurant, great service. I am knocking one star due to having to walk outside to get to the hot tubs. A long walk outside, through gates etc. That should be changed asap!

I fully enjoyed my stay at the Four Seasons Whistler! As soon as we pulled we were greeted and escorted into the lobby. The lady at the front desk was so sweet and helpful and she offered my friend and I complimentary apples. After the long drive from Vancouver all we wanted to do was rest and boy did we rest. The beds were soft and the big pillows were plush. The bathroom not only boasted a huge tub but also a huge shower. Since we were paying a good amount for our stay we wanted to get the full experience by ordering room service. I remember very vividly the nice lady that brought up our room service and set up our dining table. The hands down best part of the meal was the seafood appetizer with some of the best and freshest raw oysters I have ever had. Overall, the experience was a blast and I hope one day I can return!

Review from Brian C.
Ah the days of Whistler...I have always enjoyed staying here. The spa is was good. Great masseuses, I thoroughly enjoyed my massage. The number of restaurants in the area good and bad. From coffee to fine dining to casual dinging. I do remember especially enjoying the breakfast one morning at the Fifty Two 80 Bistro. It was a classic Benedict with Wilted Spinach, Back Bacon with Hollandaise. Quiet interesting but that back bacon you could cut with your fork it was really good. I liked the Hogwarts reference. It does kind of have that English countryside feel to it.
