Review from Sheri D.
This is a long story but it all started when I randomly decided to take a road trip from Washington, DC to Toronto. I took the trip during the height of the film festival (September) and couldn't get a hotel downtown. I stopped and asked the police where I could find a hotel (because everything downtown was booked) at 3am (Tuesday, September 14th 2010) and they escorted me to THIS hotel. I was super tired after 10 hrs of driving and was thankful to God for finding one that had rooms. HAROLD was super professional and super nice! All the staff were really nice too, and they give you maps at the front desk. I WOULD DEFINITELY STAY HERE AGAIN! Harold told me to wait a little while and he checked me in early and waived the check in early fee. :) I was super tired and my friend's snoring was driving me nuts. When I woke up later that afternoon I opened the balcony door and got an awesome view of Lake Ontario! Parking is a tad bit limited but if you're looking for a clean and quiet place to sleep this is the place! If you're a well traveled person like me you really don't give a damn if the hotel looks fancy. You just want a clean quiet place to sleep because sleeping is all you're doing when you're at the hotel. A true traveler is out all day eating and walking around and seeing the sights. The hotel is just somewhere you sleep and take a shower. The great thing about this place was that the street car stop was a block over and on Windermere there is a convenience store to buy streetcar/train tokens. It's about a 20 minute street car ride from downtown but the trip is relaxing, and allows you to do a little sightseeing. FIVE STARS FOR THE LOCATION AND STAFF!

The positives for me when staying here are my corporate rate...under 100 bucks and being close to the lakeshore. However, this hotel has its quirks.
First, make sure you get a lakeshore facing room. If you don't your window will look out into a concrete wall, which you'll realize overnight is actually the bridge to the QEW whizzing by inches from your wall.
Second is that apart from the stellar front facing view, there is precious little to eat nearby and good luck trying to get to the hotel during rush hour.
Lastly is parking. It used to be bearable because it was free, but they recently tacked on a 12 dollar per night fee (plus an epic amount of taxes) to essentially be wedged in and double parked to a tiny lot not designed to handle this many hotel guests.
So...its cheap (without parking) and convenient to downtown but thats about it. -

This was just an OK hotel. Nothing special. They are in the process of going through a remodel, so the sights and smells might be better soon.
The main advantage of this hotel is it's location to the water / beach. I was literally steps from the beach, but miles away from any food. That was the biggest downfall.
Again, Priceline comes though with a good deal, however you'll have to pay an extra $20 a night for a room with two beds since they face the water. Still, not a bad deal.
There is a restaurant onsite, but the prices are pretty high. Probably because they have little competition! The little burger shack across the way seems only to be open during the busy weekends. Boo!
If you don't mind taking public transportation (the Streetcar is within a short walk) or walking a distance to the nearest food choices, book it! Especially with the upcoming remodel. As it is now, it's just an OK hotel.Comment from Four Points by Sheraton T. of Four Points by Sheraton Toronto Lakeshore 10/26/2010
