Fort Massey United Church is a beautiful building built in 1871, located at the top of Tobin St. Although I've never attended mass at this church, it is promoted as being inclusive and accepting of people belonging to any church or faith that chose to worship there.
I've been to Fort Massey numerous times for the community events that it houses. There are many faith oriented meeting and retreats (you can find details about these on their website) as well as events that are less related to spirituality. For example, every Wednesday at 6:00pm a certified yoga instructor teaches a yoga class for only $8 per person. I joined Weight Watchers a few summers ago and attended the local weekly meeting at Fort Massey. I liked the cozy atmosphere and friendly faces more than the other meeting spot I tried, and it almost made me feel relaxed being weighed in public! Weight Watchers meetings are held every Wednesday and Thursday at 12pm and Saturdays at 9am.
Hot Hint: If you are interested in attending Sunday mass at 10:30 feel free to bring you little ones along, there is a staffed Sunday school and nursery.
