Review from Barbara S.

This was the first place I thought of when we started thinking of places for our wedding reception. After meeting with the banquet manager and seeing the place in person, I was QUITE disappointed. The manager had nothing prepared for us, had outdated printouts and colour choices for decor. It was a nice idea for a historical building, but for the price, definitely not worth it.
This was the most expensive venue we looked at, not to mention everything seemed to be an 'extra charge.' $65 to cut your cake?? $160 for two bartenders, PLUS corkage?? $1.50 per cup of coffee/guest/refill??
The floor looked like it hadn't been waxed/sealed in about 10 years, the country-style chairs were creaking and actually broken. The coat check area was two wheel-style chrome racks. It looked dusty and dirty. One of the windows had lips from a woman that obviously wore red lipstick. Makes me wonder how often they wash the windows!
Great location and setting, but definitely not worth all the extra charges!Comment from Shawn B. of Fort Gibraltar 6/24/2011
