Review from Kim H.
Was so excited that I was able to get a spa day booked here for my mom & sister. The three of us went today for mani's, pedi's and their "signature" Tangerine Body Glow. I've been visiting this spa for at least 8 years now and haven't had the desire to go anywhere else.
The staff are nice and it looks like the pedicure area has had a bit of a facelift recently. The lighting is a little softer and a bit more modern.
The Body Glow procedure was well worth the price. I truly felt relaxed and pampered. Mom and sister are newbies to the spa experience and really enjoyed it. This would be the place to refer your friends and family to, they take such great care of their clients. Yay!! -

I purchased a voucher for a Shellac manicure & pedicure. Although one of the fingernails started to peel chip within 48hrs even though the product is touted as lasting 2+ weeks (and I don't do anything out of the ordinary that would have been too hard on the nails).
I do wish they would have sent home instructions on product removal, as it requires an acetone soak ... I did google and figured out how to get the stuff off when I was done with the color.
My toes lasted forever. It's been 6 weeks and it's still there, no chipped ends (only the cuticle grow out) ... which is at the point now that I need to remove it.
I really liked the product and service. The spa is a nice size, set up nicely, nice and neat.
I purchased some Grape lip balm and hand lotion, that I just love. Next time I'm in the neighbourhood I'm going to have to get a bigger bottle.
The only downside is that without a voucher, the cost is way higher than what I would be able to afford on a normal basis.
But great experience! -

I went to Focus On You spa for a facial. It was the first time that I went to a spa to get a facial, usually its at someone's house or at a party. Sylvia was very nice and professional, she kept me informed as what was going to happen and what each product does. the atmosphere was relaxing, the music was calming and my face felt wonderful afterward. It was hard to drive home because I was so relaxed.
I went there because I purchased a Groupon. I purchased the cleanser Sylvia suggested and it was expensive. I usually don't buy products form spas because the do seem to be overpriced but I do like the cleanser although I probably won't be purchasing another one. -

I recently had a facial here. I used a Groupon and was delighted to see that they did not rush me through the experience. Overall the facial was amazing. Very zen and relaxing AND extremely educational.
Now, because I got this service for a discounted price I felt obligated to buy some product. I bought a nourishing serum to go under my moisturizer. My cheeks were a little dry. I'm thinking my time living in Egypt and our winter weather was to blame.
The brand they carry is the expensive line from France called Sothy's. I usually purchase my skin and body care from LUSH. I am overly conscious of the chemicals and unnecessary ingredients that go into products. LUSH uses essential oils, organic ingredients, and minimal preservatives when they can.
I spent $95 on a serum that when I unwrapped at home and read the label was saddened to see the following ingredients:
1. Glycerin (this is used to make that slippy feeling on your skin)
2. Some chemicals I cannot pronounce
3. AND fructose and sucrose!
Was I applying corn syrup on my face. I am returning this product. If I cannot get a refund I am happy with store credit because I do love the service at Focus on You.
I will vow to not let fancy expensive imported product sway me again. I am returning to my beloved almond oil. Yup, that's right, pure almond oil. No diabetes for this face thank you very much! -

I have been a patron of Focus on You Day Spa for a number of years and LOVE their treatments.
I started with a "girl's day" - Day of Beauty- with a good friend and continued to try more and different services over the years - including microderamabrasion and laser as they updated their salon services. I appreciate their efforts to stay current with the newest and finest technology and procedures.
Sothys products are utilized in their facials and over the years I have used a number of their products as part of my home care regime and had wonderful results. At one Focus Open House I had the opportunity to discuss the contents of some of the serums/creams with the Sothys representative and was surprised at the amount of scientific research they put into their products - which are constantly updated based on the latest findings.
One reviewer mentioned the "Tangerine Body Glow" which is one of my favorite pre-vacation treatments when heading out to somewhere warm. You feel relaxed, pampered and ready to hit the beach. Also highly recommend the Radiance facial.
The staff are awesome and make all clients feel special. -

I used this spa's waxing services on several occassions, and I have only great things to say about this place.
I discovered it by chance as I was walking from Grant Macewan college to Oliver Square, and decided to come in. The lady at the counter was very friendly, and notified me about the ongoing laser hair removal promotion deal. If I was in a financial state to get laser hair removal, I would have made an appointment, but at that moment I have decided to go with waxing. Two days later I was at Focus on You again. The spa is meticulously clean. The place was busy. My waxer was friendly, and thanks to her gentle yet precise technique, I left 30 minutes later smooth and happy. No redness, no irritation. She used a hot pale green wax and an amazing cooling lotion.
Once my inconsiderate self dropped in without an appointment to see if I can get a quick waxing job done. And guess what? The aesthetician accomodated me during her 15 minutes break between clients! Amazing service!
