I had some odd-sized pillow cases that I picked up at the One of a Kind Show and I wanted a pillow insert that was not made from factory-farm byproduct dead bird feathers for ethical and health reasons.
One of the owner's of FLUF Design recommended Foamite to me for a sustainable and locally manufactured pillow inserts that I could custom order. They make mattresses and a bunch of other products, some from soy-based foam.
I gave them a call, placed my order and it was ready to pick up about 10 days later. They're located right on the subway line, so pick up was easy and they're open late enough during the week that you can drop by after work.
