Yum yum yummy. Pizza in my Tummy. We enjoy The seasonal specials. The fig pie is the most inventive pizza I've eaten. This is daring pizza served by friendly people who work to deliver the pie to your table and not up sell. They've a small but good beer selection and we seem to have the same hysterically funny bartender every time we we sit at the bar.

Though we don't have kids by the number of families we see around 8pm this seems to be a great place for children toting parents.

Quite a different Pizza experience at Flying Squirrel... with quite a different name. I'd descrie this place as (if you want different good pizza)

Come here definately do the #5 pulled pork, cilantro

It's kinda tucked away in the corner far away so you have to make a drive.

Holy crap! Their pizza is delicious. Really imaginative combinations, fresh fresh ingredients, great thin and crispy crust. Also the pizzas are comparably priced to my also beloved Tutta Bella, but these are BIGGER, so a little more value, maybe? They were great about doing a half and half order, too.

BACON AND ARRUGALA PIZZA, with fresh tomatoes?!? It's the greatest BLT ever on top of a lovely crispy crust.  And you can get a side of braised greens for $4, with lots of peppery-kick...and two little sticks of parmesan bread to dip in the braising liquid. Yummers.

Also, you can tell they stand behind their ingredients because these are not overly-sauced. They let the ingredients speak for themselves. *drool*  The pizzas came out pretty quickly, which was nice. Our waitstaff seemed overworked. They got us our food quickly, but trying to flag someone down to get a refill on a drink was difficult. Still, delicious! And my pals tell me that it makes for great leftovers, too!

Best pizza in town! And best location--been to both the Seward Park one and the one in the Sunset Tavern in Ballard, and could definitely tell the difference. go to Seward Park for a nice, sit down experience with awesome pizza. The plain cheese rocks!

    Disappointing and overpriced.

A friend and I went to Flying Squirrel last night.  When I saw the 4.5 star average rating, I thought "wow, this should be great!"  Yeah, not so much.  Perhaps we just had a rough night, but the experience was disappointing.

We ordered the Hawaiian pizza.  It was soggy and greasy, and the toppings were sparse.  For $17.50, I expected a lot more topping and a lot less floppy texture.  The server seemed inattentive and seemed to forget things every time she bothered to check back with us.

I usually give places a second try, but I don't think they even deserve that.

Best pizza ever to pass through my tastebuds.

Without hestiation I grant this honor to Flying Squirrel.

The sauce is perfectly spiced, the toppings divine, but THAT CRUST! The one place I never leave 'bones' at, I scarf them up like nobody's business.

And the cheesebread? Oh, it's sooooooooo good. Try and eat it slowly or share, it's not easy, it's sooo cheesy!

    My favorites:
#5-pulled pork, cilantro and more goodness
    #6-potato & blue cheese
    #9-chicken sausage & goat cheese
    Maggie's (a Margarita)

And the specials are usually awesome. Try to catch the Salumi lemongrass pepperoni pies and the new #7 is slowly getting to the top of my list as well. Meatballs on a pizza? Yes, please!

What I also love is that it's the coolest damn place in town to hang out at.

Great local INEXPENSIVE art on the walls, skilled and usually 'on it' staff, local vibe but friendly even if you're not a regular, kid friendly on one side, a bit more grown up near the bar- it's AWESOME! (try imagining DJ Lance Rock from Yo Gabba Gabba saying that and you're close)

Oh, and hats off to the change from Molly's to Bluebird.  I like your style, Mr. Flying Squirrel, Fly on!

    A-OK. Three stars.

Ordered a #5, Caesar Salad and duck pizza app (which is not on the online menu)

So the number #5 is a good pizza. They don't get cheap on the pork or cilantro. But something is up with the pizza dough. The gluten strands were very tight and the flavor wasn't that good as well not really cooked enough. Maybe it was frozen.
It was as though it was cooked in a low temp oven to create a light crisp but not caramelize to create flavor.

As well the dough taste as though it was rolled over a bleach surface. Odd flavor, maybe bad water and flour.

Same odd flavor was in duck app dough. I would suggest just removing that Item from the menu. The duck was chewy and dry.

That pizza dough needs some work, otherwise this could be some killer pizza.

The Caesar is just OK, too creamy with not enough twang, or acid. Right now 3rd avenue pub is serving the best Caesar in town so anything remotely less isn't cutting it.

Other than those food issues, its fun place, fun service, beer by the pitcher. For what it is, its three stars a bit pricey though and for that reason I dont think I would go here again. Its not fun to spend $20 on pizza that needs improvement to its most serious component, the dough.

Rather go to Hot Mamas for standard cheap pie.

Definitely our favorite pizza place in town.  The sauce is AWESOME, it has a wonderful spice that's not overpowering.  My husband is from the East Coast and says this has been the best he's had since moving to the West Coast.  We always order the Arugula salad and typically stick with the Charles pizza (a meat pizza with black olives).  The salad is great, with tossed in a great dressing that has just the right amount of acidity.

One of the greatest successes of the pizza is that everything is perfectly proportioned, just enough sauce, just enough cheese, just enough toppings.  Also, I've always been a fan of cheese bread in general, but my husband has never been a fan.  He was mad at me when I ordered it from Flying Squirrel once and ended up finishing the majority of it!  It's so good - a perfect amount of garlic and cheese, not too much dough.

Oh, and we love that they serve Molly Moon ice cream too.

I am a fan of Flying Squirrel.  We have been there a few times and really enjoy their pizza and salads.

The other night we had a couple of the specials.  First, the braised greens.  Flavorful and a nice healthy thing to have before pizza.  We had one of their appitizer mini pizzas, a special with duck breast.  It was as good if not better than the regular pizza.

They have just added a pizza to their menu, one with meatballs but they ran out of meatballs.  Disappoiinting.

We got a half and half of the Charles and the Ertha Kitt.  It was just slightly over cooked in my opinion.  I like the crust a bit crispy with a few burnt parts but this had too many burnt parts.  But the toppings and the sauce made up for it.  Good pizza and we will be back.

Oh, one more thing.  I had the adult float.... Guiness and ice cream  Great sounding concept, medeocre drink.  I don't recommend.  Oh, but that ice cream is so good!

I personally think this place has the BEST PIZZA IN SEATTLE.   I'm not joking. Their Charles pizza and some others are just amazing, and the crust is perfect.  They have good beers on tap and Molly Moon's ice cream for sale.  The staff is really nice and service is quick.

My only reason for not 5 stars is because it's pretty expensive for a pie. I think like $24 for a large, so after a pizza, salad, and 2 beers, it's close to $50 after tip.

5 Stars it is. I had my birthday dinner at Flying Squirrel and it was a very good choice.

I called the day ahead to make reservations and unfortunately another group had already snagged my desired time slot. I had to adjust the time by an hour since it's not a huge place. But once we got there the staff could not have been more gracious in handling our group of 12. Our waitress was friendly, patient, helpful, and attentive. She even cut the cake my friend brought for me at the end of the night.

We started out with cheese bread, olives, Caesar salad, and some beers. After much discussion we ordered four pizzas plus a customized vegan one. We had the the #5 (pulled pork, red onion and cilantro, cojita cheese), the #8 (the egg one), the Count Basil (pesto, olives, artichoke hearts, tomatoes), and a special with goat cheese and asparagus. I really liked the pulled pork, but OMG absolutely loved the Count Basil. It was amazingly freakin good. I want more of that pizza. I was afraid maybe we had too much food but there was nothing left and every comment I heard was positive. Flying Squirrel satisfied and impressed a mixed group of Yelpers, foodies, carnivores, vegetarians, and a vegan. Love this place. Flying Squirrel rules!!!

We LOVE this place. My husband and I visit FSP about 1x/week. We usually order The Chase. Its not on the menu, but it is The Charles with roasted red peppers and hold the olives.

The staff is always very friendly and happy. There is a really neat vibe in this place. Bewtween the revolving wall art, stacks of cassette tapes and creative pizza toppings, this place ranks at the top of our list. The best part is, they use NO MSG ;)

Hope you all enjoy as much as we do!

This place is gourmet pizzas galore! Sadly I've only been here once since I now live in a Desert very far away from the palatable food Seattle has to offer. I can't wait to come back so I can hit this place up again and maybe get in on that outside seating. They are only open in the evening and every time I've driven by (like every day for 2 years), the place is spilling with people. I had the pulled pork cilantro pizza and the one with blue cheese & roasted potato. Seriously some of the best pizza I've ever had. Ever!

The crab dip was fantastic! We had 3 different kinds of pizza, the spicy sausage one was good. The meatball one, not so much and the pulled pork was decent. We also had the tiramisu and the piece was huge! It's homemade, but I've definitely had better.

Oddly enough, it was the tiramisu that got us here....Walking around in Ballard, my mom spotted tiramisu on the dessert menu at the relatively new Flying Squirrel located inside The Sunset Tavern. And since we already had dinner plans that evening, and since I'd never eaten at Flying Squirrel, we ended up at Flying Squirrel...in Seward Park, the following night.

If that seems a little complicated, it more or less accurately reflects the composition of Flying Squirrel's pizzas (in a good way!). You can go from straightforward (pepperoni, mozzarella) to complex (potato, blue cheese, chive oil) just by dragging your finger down the menu. The crowd is equally varied, from families with kids to couples on dates to every Seattleite in between, stuffed into a no-frills, red-walled, down-scale joint.

We ordered the Eartha Kitt and the #9, with an arugula salad to start between the three of us. The salad was nothing you couldn't make at home: a very simple base of arugua with a lemony dressing (slightly low on acidity, however) and a dusting of parmesan. The portobellos on the EK were thick-sliced, meaty, and just a tad salty: perfectly cooked as a pizza topping. And the chicken sausage on the #9 added a perfect amount of spice and vibrancy: I've discovered I love me a spicy pizza these days, and between the two, this one won. The crust is one of those doesn't-belong-to-any-tradition sorts, with a good crispness, generously topped close to the edge all the way around, and not so floppy that folding is easy. (Not that there's anything wrong with that!)

What actually takes this up from a three-star (good, but not postcard-worthy) to a four-star is the fact that they didn't ONLY have Manny's on tap! I love some pizza and beer...but it has to be really good pizza and beer, and that usually means IPA. No "clean" finish for me....Fortunately, they had the far-superior Lucille on their rotating tap. Taking note of what other Yelpers mention besides Manny's, it looks like any of their guest taps would be an excellent choice and someone's picking well.

These aren't cheap pizzas: most are around $17-20 unless you're going for the pure basics, but part of that is due to their emphasis on seasonal and local sourcing (always nice to see, even though we see it always around Seattle). Combine that with the great service, the inventive pizzas, and (hopefully) a superb IPA, and you have a winner! Egg and arugula, here I come....

First time at Flying Squirrel, and it was a winner.  Friendly wait staff, prompt service, and really tasty pizza and beer.

I like restaurants with options.  I never like to eat a big portion of all one thing.  The menu had a unique selection of mouthwatering combos, and many of these were available as 1/2 and 1/2.  We had a couple slices leftover, and they were pretty darn good reheated the next day.

Getting to and parking at Flying Squirrel was easy as pie (!), and although the outdoor seating was full and indoors was also busy, we only waited about 2 minutes for a table on a Sunday eve.

The dessert menu looked enticing, but I was far too full for that.  There will assuredly be a next time, and I will try to save room for a sweet treat at the end.

This pizza is pretty darn good!  The restaurant is located in (for me) a pretty inconspicuous neighborhood in the Beacon Hill area.  Hence, it definitely has a neighborhood joint feel, which is nice.  But, it's filled with a lot of families and can get pretty loud.

FS has some pretty tasty pies, with some interesting topping combos.  Sorry, my review is not as detailed as usual because it's been awhile since I dined here.  I just remember it was yummy!

I come from Bellevue, so it's a little far for me, but if I have a reason to go there - meeting friends, or already in the neighborhood - I would definitely come here again!

Great little pizza place.  I went here on a Saturday night and ordered quite a bit of food because a lot on the menu looked good.   The rosemary bean puree was great as well as the beat salad (if you like beats) - this was also wonderfully put together and beautiful to look at and the arugula salad was to die for.  I normally don't like arugula but so many others had said it was good so I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did.  The only thing I didn't like was the marinated olives because they were really spicy (at least to me but I'm a real wimp when it comes to spice - I'm so sensitive to it).  The waitress was great about it though and took it off my bill for me - she was nice the whole time, great service and hardly any wait for my food.

The pizza I ordered was the #4 but I had them leave the arugula off and add peppers and onions which they were glad to do.  It was very delicious!

I ordered the ice cream (salted caramel) and cookies for dessert - the ice cream was AMAZING - so creamy and smooth - yum!  The cookies are good and on the crunchy side which is great for people who like crunchy cookies.  I like mine soft so I'll likely just order the ice cream by itself next time.

I took off one star for location as it's kind of in a shady area of town and also for hours since they're only open in the evening.  Our church's Seattle chapel is nearby and whenever I have to go over there it's almost always in the mornings and I wish the restaurant were open for lunch so I could go there after.

I should've wrote a review this place right after I had it. But alas, I was too lazy until now.

I am a deep dish pizza guy, where the dough soaks up all the grease and the pizza as unhealthy as it can get, but I gave Flying Squirrel a shot, and it did not disappoint at all. Order the pulled pork with lime (#5 i think) and it was absolutely delicious. It's different than most pizza, but the lime and cilantro almost reminds me of pho on a pizza crust. Smells delicious, taste delicious. They have other slightly more normal toppings, which I might try next time I go back.

Had the tiramisu as well. The cake was a little denser than most tiramisu, but I like the taste. I wouldn't come here for the tiramisu, but if you are in the mood after a pizza, why not. Or you can always just get the Molly Moons =).

    LOVE:
-A small lot to park your cars (neighborhood has plenty of parking too)
-Original and tasty thin crust pizzas
    -Superb price/quality/quantity ratio
-Close to Seward Park if you want to walk/jog off the pizza before/after

    MEH:
-I can't find anything bad about this place. I expected a huge line like most top rated place, but not the night I went. So can't even be picky about that.

LOVE LOVE LOVE (Apparently I can't use "less than" 3 to show my undying love for their pizzas).

Great laid back pizza joint that provides an overall good combination. Good tasting pizza with a variety of different types and combinations, good quality ingredients, and fair pricing.

Disclaimer: no pizza expert but this place is one of my favorite pizza joints in the state. I have a bias towards "cheap pizza" so naturally giving it the highest possible for this price range. "Thin" type crusts with a variety of combinations that satisfy a variety of mouths. For those that care, service is not the "friendliest" of types but I have absolutely no problems with some attitude as long as you give my goods and what I need.

Pizza: try based on what you enjoy in your pizza. I have to say that it was a tad salty but its natural given the deli meats and our group made the mistake of all ordering similar types.

Hints: South of I-90, a couple blocks off Lake Washington so go for a nice drive prior/post meal. Street parking is available and fairly easy to find. Beer is decently priced and they offer a nice variety.

flying Squirrel just broke into my top 3 pizza places.

    The staff is super friendly.

The beers on tap are spot on.

    The pizza is top notch.

We put this into the wood-fired heavy on the toppings category. The ambiance is more family restaurant than high-end dining.

I'm dumbfounded that this category exists. I'm usually biased against a heavily topped pizza and it will often come on a thick-doughy crust, but they've done it. The crust is awesome. Very crisp with a nice crumb.

I'm kind of torn between 3 and 4 stars.  Ultimately I think I "rounded down" for what I felt was a bit of attitude when we first arrived for dinner.
My motley crew of friends and I decided to check this place out for dinner on a Friday night.  We knew going in that given the number of positive reviews and it being a Friday night at a pizza place it would be busy there.  We decided to do it anyway, what the hell they serve beer.
So we arrive and as expected it's pretty busy, my friend puts our name in for a table and we squeeze into the small open space at the bar for a beer while we wait.  You might use the word "cozy" to describe this place; not well situated for a crowd.
Strike one, the guy at the register as we are trying to order beers informs us that "you know, you can place an order to go".  No kidding?  I can get a to go order from a pizza place!  OK, maybe he was really trying to be helpful, maybe.  Then, after a bit we reconfigure a bit so as to order a second round of beers while we wait.  This time during our order I sense a bit of annoyance from him when we're asking questions about the other drafts.  Considering there wasn't a tap for Bud Light, I think it was perfectly reasonable to ask about the drafts.  Oh, and again, you know you can get an order to go.  Seriously?  Moving on...
Finally we get our table and order pizza.  We go with one traditional pizza, like a peperoni and sausage, and one BBQ pizza with cilantro as well as some bread and marinara.
Bread and marinara, excellent.  I really like their marinara.  Quite a lot of garlic, which I'm OK with.
Pizzas come; also really good.  I like the crust and the pizza sauce, I think it's the same marinara used for dipping the bread.  I'm a bit of a traditionalist on pizza, but I have to say I enjoyed the BBQ pizza, I thought it was a bit heavy handed with the cilantro though.  Having said that I'm not a fan of cilantro anyway.  Service at the table was very good, no attitude and nice and attentive even given being busy.
Solid pizza skills and some interesting gourmet pizza options if that's your thing.
I'll probably go back to see if I experience that attitude again, I really want to give the place 4 stars, so I'll give 'em another shot.

I hate to be meh about this place.

I liked the vibe, the quirk, and the ambition, but the execution, for my pie at least, just didn't hit the mark.  I wouldn't mind trying the joint out again but with so many options out there I doubt I will... the reality of the restaurant biz, if you don't win them over the first time you'll have to wait a long time for another shot (not that they need my patronage, the Squirrel is plenty popular!)

Maybe it was because I came early but I felt like the crust wasn't crisp enough/the pizza oven not hot enough (I worked a pizza oven for a year in Chicago so I'm a little picky about my crust and had high hopes, I admit...)

I had a seasonal special pizza that had Chanterelle mushrooms and little else of interest, a bit of cheese, garlic and oil, not much salt or flavor.  I think it's a bad idea to just throw raw Chanterelle mushrooms on a pizza and zip it in an oven, they just dry out and their mushroom-y goodness is not improved, a quick saute in butter first perhaps a better option?  Paired with bits of salty cured meat perhaps to add some interest?

I ended up adding salt and requesting a side of marinara (kinda one-note marinara...)  and still not loving it, or the $20 price tag for a mediocre pie, but it was edible and decent with my beer, just no where near what it could have been.

I guess I'm in the minority on this one...

Then I followed it up with a scoop of Molly Moon's Salted Caramel ice cream. Lordy, I needed a personal, private moment for everything I put in my mouth tonight!  . . . . THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!"

Fabulously Fantastic God Among Men Owner: Well I have never made a woman orgasm before, so I am glad I could do it for you!

    here it comes..........W. O. W.

Now, to give some perspective, I'm rather disappointed by the culinary scene in Seattle. I've been on a number of occasions to various recommendations on yelp and from friends, and more often than not, I was left unimpressed with a forgetful meal. There wasn't much wow factor, and it's been quite some time since I've had a bite of something that made me spasm into an explosion of ecstasy.

    until today.

To be fair, I've only tried two pizzas from the Flying Squirrel: pepperoni and the pulled pork. Pepperoni, for what its worth, is a solid pepperoni pizza, but wasn't anything special. But then came the pulled pork. To describe my first impressions, imagine being instructed to create a pie that has the most perfect blend of street mexican food on top of a delicious crust. Well, really, thats what I got: cilantro, red onion, garlic roasted pulled pork, goat cheese, and...wait for it.....LIME. ugghhhh the lime.....

The reputation Serious Pie has for being a great pizza joint in Seattle needs to be stripped completely and placed upon this establishment immediately. If you pay about $20 for a pizza, please feed more than 1 person. And if you use unique ingredients, then made it damn memorable so that if I didn't know what I was eating, I would stop the server and ask what this amazing mystery topping was. The size of the pizza at FSPC was enough to feed two easily. We ordered two pizzas and a pitcher, and all three of us left disgustingly full.

I definitely want to be back to try the other favorites. You need to frequent this place as well. Really.

Holy shit! That arugula salad was out of control. I'm going to try to make it at home. We ordered 3 pizzas for the four of us, and it was all gone. The cilantro/pulled pork pizza really soared, and they have some great happy hour pitchers.

It's hard to pick pizza favorites in this town, but this place is definitely at the top of the list.  I've never been disappointed.

Came here on a friday night which was on a perfect sunny day so it was both indoor and outdoor seating available. It was pretty busy but we were able to get a table indoor even though outdoor looked really nice with the breeze coming through.

Looking at the menu itself was hard to choose from but our waitress let us know we can choose two kinds for a half/half pizza. So we went for #4 and #9.

#4 - proscuitto, mushroom, organic arugula, and mozzarella

#9 - housemade chicken sausage, goat cheese, Mama's Lil' Peppers, spinach, and mozzarella

Next time I go back I will HAVE to try the #5 with the pulled pork!

The pizza was yummy with the perfect thin crust. Definitely a place to go for worthy tasty pizza.

My wife and I have been roaming around trying different pizza places around the Seattle area, and Flying Squirrel is the best we've had so far.  Having had pizza in Chicago, New York, New Haven, Venice, Florence and Rome, I can't say it's the best, but it's pretty good.

For the appetizer, our favorite is the rosemary, white bean dip.  Laced with a generous amount of olive oil and some bread sticks for dipping, this is a delicious, healthy snack.  Their antipasti platter is also good, but I find the over-reliance on the meats from Salume a bit off-putting.  They taste fine, but tend to be too salty and overly herby.  More on this to come.

I would avoid the salads.  We've tried both their arugula and their Caesar's, and they're unimaginative.  Your money is better spent on another glass of Manny's or another of their 3-4 beers on tap.  My only wish is that they offer a more malty option besides the hoppy IPAs that are unavoidable in this part of the world.

The pizzas are really good.  They come out fast, which means (I hope) that their ovens are really hot.  Their thin crust exudes a slight yeasty aroma -- which is rare, but which I LOVE.  (Hence, my request for a more malty beer to go with the yeasty crust.) My favorite so far is the sausage and garlic.  The sausage is the well-seasoned, crumbly, unapologetically fatty variety that I grew up with in Chicago.  Their Lightning Hopkins (spicy/sweet peppers, red onion, and pepperoni from Salume) would have balanced spicy and sweet against each other well, had the pepperoni not been so salty. Their Sofia pizza (artichoke hearts and ham from Salume) tasted good where there was no ham, but the ham pieces were absolute salt bombs.

In short, I wish that Flying Squirrel would rely on their good sense and less on the name brand of their cold cut supplier. I don't care if the man's son wears orange clogs on the Food Network -- overly salty salumi detracts from a great pizza.

Avoid their tiramisu, which is made with rum, rather than brandy or a coffee liqueur.  The plentiful amount of rum rendered the dessert bitter in a non-espresso sort of way.

To sum up, go there for the beer and the great pizza, especially if "Salume" is not listed in the description.  And that white bean dip appetizer is really nice, too.

I don't know...I think I need to try this place again to make my final decision on it but it wasn't my fave. I had the Eartha Kitt and it was good but not great. When I was there it was VERY noisy with kids, which is fine, but uhh, not that pleasant and I know they can't help it. In a nutshell, I'd be willing to try it again, but I wouldn't make that hard of an effort.

    Nothing special about this place.

The pizza is good but service needs to improve. As for the beet salad and greens were just ok.

I would defiantly go for late night pizza.

High hopes for this place were sabotaged by a couple of factors.

Pizza menu is extensive and creative, and I'm willing to admit that I may have experienced a bit of conflict between head and stomach, with the former (wanting the Pulled Pork pizza) outvoting latter (which really wanted a more traditional red sauce pizza that evening).  My wife and I both thought the pork pizza was good, not great.  The flavors were strong, not subtle.  Again, could have just been misalignment since I am a big pulled pork guy.  The other family also thought the pizza they ordered was hum drum.  We also had the braised vegetables - I've definitely had better collard greens (which is what it tasted like).  Not bad, but far from great.

The other problem was that it took about 45-60 minutes to get from order to pizza, which unto itself is problematic, but when you have a little child is a big problem.  I'm willing to admit that my experience may have been influenced by staring into the sallow and increasingly weary eyes of my friends 18-month old, who could not be expected to understand why his pizza was taking so long.

The waitress did do a bit of verbal triage, and I am bumping my review up a point because she wrote off one of the pizza's.  However, when you have a little kid waiting on pizza (we actually had three), triage should be some crust or snacks of some sort.

That being said, I am bound and determined to return and give FS another shot.  They are aiming in the right direction (obviously) and every restaurant occasionally misfires.

Delicious. I love that Flying Squirrel has really unique flavor combinations. Try the pulled pork and cilantro- It is amazing!  The crust is some of the best in Seattle (I'm a thin crust girl.)  It's a bit thicker than Tutta Bella, so the pizza doesn't get soggy at all.

It's a very casual neighborhood pizza place.  It's well stocked with beer, a decent wine selection, and always has some well-behaved kids.

Some of the flavor combos can be odd and the pizza isn't cheap, which is why I'm not giving it 5 stars.

Overall, it's a place you need to try.  You can walk down to the water afterwords to burn off all those calories!

How to make the cut and NOT be another lousy pizza joint:

    1)  Have a shocking name
    2)  Put random and non-traditional ish on your pizza i.e. strawberries, figs, potatoes, eggs (Oh my!)
    3)  Create a slice of pie that not only holds up through the mushiest of random fruit *see above* and greasy cheese, but also stays crisp and tasty for our stays entirety
    4)  Allow a never-ending group of 16+ trouble-makers to sit down, without disruption (minus refilling the Tricerahops IPA a few times)
    5)  Having red paintings on a red wall

Looks like this place passed with Flying Squirrels.

Special thanks to all you Yelpers who took my Event Virginity.  You know who you are =)

I was visiting Seattle recently with 2 other people. We were a group of foodies with a pizza craving and ventured all the way to this place in a cab from downtown based on the killer reviews, and the fact that theyput Zoe's and Salumi's meats on their pies.

Service was awful - inattentive, cranky, and not at all helpful...not that you need a lot of help ordering beer and pizza!!! The staff not attending to our table were very nice to us, but we weren't troubling them with silly things like drink orders, so who knows.

I will say that the ice cream we had here was pure bliss. mmmmmmmmm...apparently it comes from a local creamery, and if I were a Seattle local, I'd have that creamery on speed-dial.

Despite the poor service, the pie was good...nothing to write home about, but the crust was crisp, the sauce and toppings were good, and the cheese was good quality as well, though there too much of it. Not worth the long journey from the city, but if I lived close by, I'd order it as a go-to local takeout on an "I don't want to cook" night...as long as food poisoning doesn't normally come on the pizza. Within a few hours, one of us puked for 4 hours straight after this meal, and the other two...let's just say we were also up sick, just didn't express it the same way...DEFINITELY not worth the trip after that!!!!

Amazing! The pizza is great. Definitely try #5 and #6 they are very good. All of the pizzas we have tried are good but these two set themselves apart from the rest. Service is always good. Overall this is definitely one of the best pizza places.
