It's not Nash high-end quality, but from the hassle of DT parking, it's got its own parkade 2 levels, not too shabby.  Otherwise just a 3.5 star.

At least less hassle than the City Square.

Yes when it's super busy after work, but I tend to put in some time after 8.

    Nice clean men's showers.

For this week's workout, I came on Wednesday and it was a bit busy at this Kits location.

The funny thing about this location is the ventilation.  I mention this because, of the three that I have been to, this one has steamy windows in the winter months.  Is that because peeps huff and puff here too much so that the fans cannot keep up?

This is where I got my membership.  A couple of Yelpers have noted that they can be pushy.  I do not disagree.  They WANT you to sign up.  I don't know the stats but I get the feeling that there are a lot of peeps that pay the monthly fees but do not actually go.   If you are unsure and cannot commit to fitness, this is NOT for you.  The sales pitch, and general pushiness, will put you off.  I knew I wanted to join.  It was a no brainer for me.  I got in with a corporate rate, and kept it.  I don't know whether corporate rates are available anymore.

The gym itself is OK, nothing too spectacular although some of the equipment appears dated and is well used.  The staff will generally leave you alone and you can do your thing.  This location has the cleanest and nicest men's change area for the three locations that I use.  There are currently no renos happening at this location.  I only see the renos happening at the Bute and Georgia Street location, but I am unsure about the City Square facilities.

This location also has a "child care" service so that parents can do their thing while they look after your kids.  I've never used it so I can't really comment.

Fitness is a lifestyle choice for me.  I make time for it.   At the gym, I do a bit of cardio, and then comes the obscene weight training that I have to do to keep my resting metabolism relatively high.  All this so that I can PIG OUT at restaurants and Yelp about it later.  =D

Well, you are guaranteed to be punched in the face with the stench of this place.

I've been going to this gym 4-6 times per week for almost 5 years now. Why? It's close to my house (2 blocks), I'm used to the layout, there is a women's only section and Kelly (I think she's the manager) has always been really good to me. Also, the trainers and patrons leave me in peace to workout and get out.

    Areas for improvement:
    - equipment upgrade
    - bench/squat racks in the women's only section
    - more stepmills
    - a couple of spin bikes in the cardio area - the life fitness stationary bikes are crap

Started going here about 3 weeks ago and really like it so far, everything you can possibly need equipment-wise you name it they got it. I usually go around 3-4pm and have never seen it super busy, seems like it starts to get crowded around 6pm as people get off work especially in the cardio area, but I rarely have to wait for a machine. Definitely check this place out.

This gym is pretty expansive and looks out over the steady traffic of West Broadway and the far more serene North Shore Mountains. We visited here with a two-week trial pass and I just couldn't love the place.

The cardio room made me feel like a hamster on a wheel. Not that cardio rooms are the swankiest places to hang out, but there was just an excessive uniformity to the rows of machines. I'm sure they're paying the power bills with all that generated juice.

The Quick Fit circuit is the gym's most unique offering. Almost like a bingo hall, a series of flashing lights tell you what exercise to do next and when to take a break.

The classic gym machismo runs pretty high here.  Parking and a ladies-only area are nice bonuses, but still fairly standard. All-round if I lived next door to this Fitness World, I may be wooed. Just nothing special.

Shopping around for gyms in the neighborhood led me here.  "Do you have a few minutes?" for a tour, I was asked.  "Sure."  About and hour and a half later I was out of there.  No workout, just a chat, a measurement and a tour.  Kinda overkill.  Went back the next day for a real workout.  They said I'd get a training session (for free) but all I got was another chat/bogus assessment.  Decent place however.  Not sure about these other posters.  I didn't see any views of the mountains sadly and the ladies only section does have windows and ventilation.

In the end I just didn't like the sales push.  "How about the contract?" I'd ask.  "No contract, just an agreement" he'd said while holding out a form full of fine print to be completed in triplicate.  Apparently you can only get out of your 24 month "agreement" if you show a one-way ticket out of town or a doctor's note saying you won't be able to move again.

For me, flexibility is key.  I know I'll work-out.  I don't need an "agreement" to force me into a regular routine of forking out my hard-earned dough.
