One of the Fitness World's I frequent due to the distance from work, and also being on the way to going home after a hard days work. Along North Road, near Lougheed Hwy, this location is a little dated compared to the other ones I have visited. They have, just recently started to renovate this location ever since the sale to change the name to Steve Nash - Fitness World.
So what is new here, the doorway has been changed, and now even the men's locker room. Before this used to be practically a dungeon, with rusty lockers that were pretty beat up. I can tell you that they have installed new lockers, and have redone part of the washroom, so it is more pleasant that what it was before.
This gym is a good size, it still has the woman's only side right on the bottom. And they have a line of cardio machines downstairs, and upstairs. There is also a pretty big floor area for working out on weights and machines. The crowd at this Fitness World is a little different from the downtown locations, as there are not that many 'suits' that come in here either after a long day at work, or right in the morning before venturing to work.
They have quite a bit of spots to park your car, but during prime time hours you will have better luck parking across the street in the other parkade (as I see many do this). Hopefully in the months coming down the road they start throwing more money at this location, as the rest of the place needs to be updated, not just the lights, but also the equipment as some of it is pretty old. -

Frequented this place for many years. The music is extremely loud, the I.C.E bikes should be in another room, the music for this group is LOUD, LOUD, and the screaming voices of the trainers are louder than the music. Tried many times to get them to divide the room to no avail.. I could not listen to my music on my ipod. Had to stop it completely. I stopped coming and now am glad the new FW by Brentwood is wonderful, Music is great and you don't get deafened. Staff is friendly too.
