I like a gym that's only for women. This is a decent gym. They have tv's in front of the cardio machines, weight machines that are sized for women, as well as a lot of free weights. They also have several cardio classes, free wellness and fitness sessions 1-on-1 with a trainer, child care, tanning booths, showers with shower curtains....
I left them though. It's wasn't them. It was me.
My only complaints: They needed more times for cardio classes in the evenings, and they should be open later than 10pm. Otherwise, it doesn't cater to my student lifestyle and I could hardly be motivated to get up at 6am. Oh, and I hated the 2 year contract they bound me to.Listed in: Taking Care of Myself, Staying Active

I've been a long time member to Fit City. I know both Richmond and Burnaby locations very well. This week I cancelled my membership. I had a double charge on my account, plus an extra $15 charge processing fee??? It made no sense so I tried calling head office. I left 2 messages and no response. I'm still waiting for a response but decided that it's not worth going to a gym where everything looks like it's from the 80's and you're lucky to get a machine that isn't creaky, squeaky, or plain broken. The younger girls at the front desk are great, but the older hags don't give a crap about you. Can't wait to try out Club16/She's Fit at the new downtown location. And how is it that I'm paying $20 comparing to the overblown charges at Fit City? No clue...

I didn't like dusty cardio machines and careless staffs. So I'm not a member anymore !

I'm absolutely appalled at the lack of flexibility surrounding the contract terms for this gym. Having paid 18 months up front, I'm now being held to an additional 6 months! Dear help anyone who's circumstances may have changes 2 years after they first joined.
