We arrived around 6:30 on a Saturday night and were seated immediately.  The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

The food was fantastic.  I had the Sablefish and it was perfect.  My dining partner had the fish and chips and really enjoyed his meal.  There is a great wine list.

One of the highlights of the meal was my husbands Caesar.  They make their version with oyster sauce and horseradish.  The drink has a really nice kick.

We will definitely be going back!

The service was horrendous. We felt totally unsatisfied.

To begin, it was not our first time there. We have been before and the service and food was average, but not awesome. So we thought we'd give it another go.

When we arrived, there were no tables available, so we began our experience at the bar. It was nice to be seated and served while we waited for our table.

However, once we moved to our table and received our food, the service stopped. I think no one server was assigned to us. No one checked with us about how our food was. And although our plates were taken away by two servers they were not our server. After our table was cleared we waited over 25 minutes for someone to ask us if we wanted dessert or coffee.

We felt totally neglected. Other tables came and went. We had to flag down a server from a nearby table and ask if we had a server assigned to us. She left to check and said it was because we moved from the bar, but she could take our dessert order. Then we had to ask for our bill. Arggh.

The food was also not very good. So much so that my husband wanted to eat when he got home, not because he was hungry, but because the food and the experience was unsatisfying. I felt the same. What a waste of money.

I had the arctic char in brown paper. It was over-cooked and the texture was funny. And the portion was tiny. It came with a mushroom potato pancake which was ok, but it was too heavy. I would have enjoyed a smaller portion of pancake and a larger portion of vegetables (which were sparse).

My husband ate the paella and it was below average. From across the table I could see that it was heavy and clumpy and unappetizing.

For dessert we shared a creme brulee. It tasted really good, but it was a little soupy at the bottom.

Darn...what happened to this place? Some people think its good. Is it hit and miss?

I don't know if I'll ever go back. I definitely will NEVER bring friends or family here.

We felt unwelcome as soon as we came in the door.

In fact, the few staff there did their best to avoid us for 10 mins as we stood there. When the very snobby young man came over to ask if we had a reservation (the restaurant was empty), he snuffed when told no and made a noisy and melodramatic display of searching the computer for a spot in the cavernous emptiness.

We sat for 10 more mins before anyone ventured to ask if we'd like even water, let alone a drink.  When we asked the server who our waiter was, she didn't know (rest. still pretty much empty;  two dorks running around trying to avoid eye contact). We should and would have walked out at this point but we were meeting people who insisted on this place.

All throughout the evening, the original man who showed us rudeness at the door, kept flashing dirty looks in our direction, as did our server when he fraternized at the bar with a co-worker. I sensed a zero tip coming on.......

    More low lights:

One  main course came 15 mins late - no apology nor explanation. Rubbery-looking but apparently edible.
Pasta w Clams - so much grit and shell it was inedible.
    Arctic char - $24 for a a sodden, muddy-tasting 1.5 ounce serving(!) of fish.

Gee, all this for $135 (dinner for four, 2 appies, two glasses of wine) - not exactly inexpensive!

This restaurant is pretentious CRAP, and deserves to crawl back into the little  culinary hole it slithered out of.

The food was good, but I am not impressed with the restaurant in general. The waiter was a real twit, making semi-flirtatious jokes the whole time, and bossing us around telling us how to eat our food. Luckily the other servers were much nicer. He made a fuss about the fact that we didn't have a reservation, although it was an hour and a half before another group would need our table for two.

Although I enjoyed the food a lot, I will not be going back. There seemed to be three or four waiters all walking around quickly backwards and forwards on either side of us, and we could feel the reverberations through our seats a lot. Most of the dining area is on a weird platform that makes it impossible not to be constantly irritated by the stomping waiters.

In addition, the decoration is pretentious and....well. There are all these sconces and shiny black curlicue decals  on the walls, and in the bathroom there's a huge screen that looks like an iPhone stuck to the wall.

Great food!  We showed up at 9 pm on a Friday without a reservation.  There was no problem even though the restaurant was busy. We were seated immediately at one of the few empty tables.  Server was knowledgeable and very professional. Most of the patrons were middle-aged though there was a younger group beside us.  The restaurant is casually elegant.  We really enjoyed our meal. The halibut was perfectly prepared.  This is a nice addition to the North Shore.  We will be returning.

My husband and I went to FISHWORKS for the first time last weekend . We got there at about 6:30 on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. Our waitress was very friendly and had great suggestions. We started with the mussels , which was excellent. The mussels was perfectly tender. Then I ordered the Risotto with Scallop and bacon, and my husband ordered the sablefish with mushroom and onion. Both were excellent. We were starting to get full so we skipped dessert. Our final bill was quite reasonable, especially since we each had two drinks.
