When I moved to the city of Victoria as an 18 year old girl my waistlength hair had never been touched by the likes of a salon or stylist. My girlfriends all saw Matty at Fish, who they were equally infatuated with and enthralled with his talents. I continually resisted his attempts to convince me to chop my hair. Eventually he won and I sat in his chair at Fish and chopped my blonde locks. I hated him and loved him for it. I truly did need it. Having fallen ill my hair had become very unhealthy so the weild of his scissors was welcome and necessary.
Those were the glory days of Fish.
The stylists in those days, nearly a decade ago, were the best in town. You were very lucky if you were even accepted as a client for certain stylists.
Unfortunately the current and constantly changing staff is not blessed with these talents. I actually would prefer not delve into how wretched my final experiences were at this salon. There was the green hair situation where they continued to charge me $60 a session trying to remedy a problem they caused. The management is formidable and the talent is lacking. I beg of you to save yourself and do NOT go to Fish.

Creativity is an important focus of Fish Hair Salon. We aim to keep our stylists inspired and current by doing editorial work, fashion shows, creative nights and in-house classes. We regularly attend Hair Shows and Current Workshops. Our team works together to brainstorm and experiment with different techniques and ideas. This keeps our stylists feeling fresh, motivated, and artistic while working with their cli

Fish Hair Salon has chosen to work with Bumble and Bumble hair products. Bumble and Bumble is a New York based company whose work can be seen in many magazines and on the runways of the world's fashion capitals, including Paris, Milan, and New York. We and our clients hold our products to high standards, and Bumble and Bumble have consistently met them.
Prices range depending on which level of Stylist you see:
Ladies cuts range from $30.00-$80.00
Men's cuts range from $25.00-$75.00
Childrens cuts start at $20.00

History
Established in 1998
1998 was a lucky year for Victoria, as it saw the opening of Fish Hair Salon! Created by Top Stylist Donna Dyer, Fish was started with the desire to offer something new and unique to clients, the salon is an environment in which clients can feel comfortable in the chairs of stylists who constantly upgrade and continue their education with frequent trips to Bumble and Bumble University in New York and Vidal Sassoon education worldwide. Fish encourages their stylists to be creative, to learn, and to be inspired. The salon is comfortable and friendly; the work is innovative and exciting.
Meet the Business Owner: Donna D.
After spending several years in the industry, Donna decided it was time to open her own salon. Thus, Fish was born in November of 1998, with a much smaller space and a much smaller staff! Now, Fish is a thriving business, with a second section added (what is now the cutting floor) and large family of stylists that call Fish home.
Feeling that education and product knowledge were two of the most important things that she could provide to both budding stylists and those with years of experience, Donna set up weekly in-house classes for the stylists to share knowledge, as well as allowing the stylists to work towards courses at both Vidal Sassoon and House of Bumble. Donna herself has attended numerous courses and continues to teach what she knows at the salon.
Though her main focus is her family, Donna is the heart of the salon, and her passion and dedication to the art of hairstyling is what gives Fish such an amazing atmosphere
